  • In this video I review the 991.1 Porsche 911 GTS and tell you why it’s a taste of nostalgia. The 991 generation of the 911 was the last of its kind. We didn’t know it at the time, but the 991.1 generation left behind a true gem of a car, the 911 GTS.
    The 991 generation was considered a new car almost a decade ago and ran through 2019. And with the rapid advancement in mechanics and technology, this now 6 year old car sounds like a dinosaur by todays standards. But its when you look into the specifications and the character of this 991.1 Porsche 911 GTS you’ll see many things that are special. Things that you will no longer find in 911 Carrera models. So check out the video to find out all the special things about this 911 GTS.

    Loved the video. Got a 991.1 Gts rwd manual in a rare paint to sample colour, with ducktail. Had it nearly 6 years. I'll NEVER sell it! That good!

      …Just got exactly the same. Lava Orange with the ducktail. Cost more than the 991.2 GTS and just £2k shy of a 992 C2S. But I wouldn’t even look at those.

    I lucked into a 2015 911 Carrera 4 GTS (991.1) in a 7-speed manual with a mere 98 miles on it in 2018, three years and one month after the first owner took delivery of it. And it came with $45,620 in Porsche factory options, mostly performance options, plus a fair share of XPEL PPF. So yes, it was expensive but less than list and many would think, why not a 991.2. Simple, 1) I did not want a turbo and preferred a 3.8L normally aspirated engine and 2) I did not want a PDK transmission even though I have driven a 992 Carrera S with PDK during the Porsche Track Experience courses. Nice, but it would not be my choice.

    Enjoyed the video, having owned the 991.1 GTS PDK and Now a Manual 991.1 GTS I can without a doubt that this last iteration of most powerful carrera N/A is a Gem. Feel lucky that I picked it over a forced induction 911 yrs ago. If I had, I would still be loving the forced induction 911 but would never know what I missing. good job with the video

    On the market for one I definitely agree that it's already a classic, I have always wanted a GT3 but I got a little girl so I want the rear seats and the car's height makes it more usable on the roads I have got here

    I've had to come back to rewatch this after watching the 991.2 GTSreview. Those are faster for sure at 450BHP, I'm gladI went fior the more special 991.1 GTS. Its just an epic event, every drive!
    And for sure, they dont mae them like this anymore. Get one whilst you can. Turbos are available all the time, not so N/A.

    Owner of a 991.1 GTS cab and 991.2 GT3 Touring. The 991.1 GTS is an amazing car. The Touring is just a little bit better across the board BUT the 991.1 GTS is the better all-arounder. My biggest disagreement with this overall excellent review is that the 991.1 GTS is a firm ride. It isn't. In "sport chassis," it is reasonably firm. In regular chassis, I feel like I am driving a Lexus. The Touring is a stiffer ride, for sure. If I could keep only one, it would be the Touring but the 991.1 GTS is a truly special car. It punches way about its weight, it sounds glorious and I cannot imagine a better daily driver.

    Naturally aspirated 911 let's the engine sing. Newer models running the exhaust through a turbo mutes the raw fine details the engine puts out. Love that pop on the downshift. The 911 GTS 991.1 is truly a classic worth collecting.

    I just got a 991.1 Carrera 4S Cab with the GTS engine (Powerkit) upgrade.
    So not quite a GTS but darn close with the wide body and PTV+.
    And yes, the NA singing it’s way to the redline is just fabulous, and addictive.
    And it is really comfortable, especially since I drove a bone jarring AMG GT-S yesterday, which some say is a worthy competitor to a GTS. I think not.

    I was going to Dunkin' Donuts Porsche dealership was right next-door it was one day after Easter visiting my dad I was looking for 991 because I only drove porches that were air cooled was not interested in a PDK car but I was interested in the body I was looking at the preowned lot and I did not know the lady in the dealership seen me looking at it soon as I walked in she didn't ask my name or anything or my drivers license she threw the keys on me and said take it for a test drive it was a 2013 911 S that one has rear wheel drive the pops in a sounds came from the engine I didn't think a automatic Porsche would be so great I went back in and said let me sign the papers drove it home the next day and in love with it I have a exhaust on it I think it's called fab speed and let me tell you it sounds like a sport bike coming down the block exciting fun and I will never sell it dark gray with a saddle interior this thing is classy sexy and timeless best car for the money and I think they're going to go up in value yes the 911gt3 is stronger and better and the GTS but I just bought it on a test drive and it was happy at minimum you should get a 911 S 991.1

      @prazzy4712 Рік тому +2

      @@DriveSteady I concur! for me I chose the 4.0 for a few reasons, I like the 718's smaller size, having the engine right behind you is a more visceral experience, the manual is a bit better, brand new car with warranty for less than a used 991.1 with no warranty. But 2 of my friends have 991.1 GTS manuals, and everytime I see and hear their cars I get confused again :) They are so beautiful and the sound is definitely superior to my car.
