save money by using tea bags for nails instead of going to the salon doing acrylics. bam i love it, lasting 25 days verses needing a fill every few weeks
I wish I could send you a photo to show you but I did this trick yesterday and it was a bit tricky at first to get the shape. I had to dip my nail 5 times just to get it to harden for strength. Thank you for making this video, I am forever grateful
Smarty pants!! This is perfect. I just want to extend my natural nail just a little bit as my nail beds aren’t very long. I have silk wrap that I can use instead of tea bags but it sure could work well too. Thank you!
@@marianazefi3083 I'm guessing maybe she used the tea bag and cornstarch. I used this same method. Tea bag and baby powder. The baby powder is AMAZINGLY strong. Same steps as the video
I LOVE your accent!! And thank you so much for this trick!! I hate cracking my nails, which tend to grow beautifully, so next time I have a break, I'll try this.
I am all about this! I have a deep hatred of acrylics lol (long story) and refuse to wear them ever again, but sometimes, when I break a nail *I HATE IT WHEN MY NAILS ARE ALL DIFFERENT LENGTHS* lol. This trick looks soo reasonable, economical, and not nearly as damaging... oh and did you say _25 DAYS??!!_ Count me in!! Now the Lipton is off limits lol. Thanks for this tip!! SOOO GLAD I SAW THIS!! God bless from FL❤️️
Thank you!! This is so much better than acrylic. My nails are always longer on my left hand than my right. I'm right handed so it is always harder doing the acrylic with a brush using my left hand. This looks so much easier.
Brilliant. I can't wait to try this. My thumb nails are damaged at the bed and can't grow like the rest of my nails. I've always just dealt with it because I don't do tips. I can't wait to try this!

So I'm just a little concerned before I try this, is the tip gonna bend easily? If you could push the tip after you used dip powder and filed, I'm afraid it'll be really weak. And can I use coffee filters instead of tea bags?
@Sierra Yeomans coffee filters are almost like that paper that people use for gift bags, so it won’t work as well. As for the tip, it really depends on what kind of lifestyle you have. Most people have long nails because they work at an office or something like that. But other people who work in jobs that require more activity like farming or cleaning houses, having long nails won’t last as long. So it really depends on your lifestyle.
Dip powder hardens a lot, so I don't think it would bend. I haven't tried doing this yet, but I have tried dip powder and it almost feels ceramic after it's done. It's great, no bending
I have a dip powder kit with various colors. Can I use any color dip powder for this or do I need to use the natural colored dip powder for the extension and then use the colored dip powder I want on top of that?
no silk wrap is not for extending the nail, it's for making a patch on your nail when you just have a cut on your nail, and its bot easily available to everyone, but tea bag paper is:)
That is absolutely incorrect Lifeisnails. You can extend the nail with silk wraps by layering about 5 layers. I saw this at a Las Vegas convention in 1995, and I have been doing it ever since. You only go down half the nail, and file the end flush with the nail bed. It actually grows out without needing to be redone.
glue does no harm as long as you don't rip the extensions off when you remove the extended nail. And I have only tried kiarasky so I cant say its better than any other brands until i try some other brands as well.:)
Try nailguards. U dont have to buff the surface of ur nail. U do have to remove cuticle. It sticks to ur nail. I use it when applying tips and doing a gel or acrylic overlay
This is great. Nail tips can be shaped wrong for our nail shape. Cant go wrong with this way. I have had them put tips on that are too tapered and pinched for my mails and it messes up my natural nail shape.
Question- If I was doing this but also wanted to use color nail dip powder, at what point in your process would you stop with the clear and move on with the colored powder? Thanks!
The nail forms alternative seems to be easier than the tea bag. I say this because I tried using a tea bag to fix a broken nail I had, and that method failed.
Admittedly I have not tried this, but it seems like a bad idea. In all the years I’ve used acrylics and tips, when you extend the nail beyond your normal length, it needs support in the back third of your natural nail. You’ll hear nail techs describe it as the ‘apex’. This technique seems like it will break and hurt. 🤔
(Nail tech) I would definitely put some towards the back of the nail. If not its as if your powder grew out and its more likely to break. But that's me.
Vanessa Zhu no problem. Instead of dip kit base: u can use nail glue, uv polish, or resin and follow with gel-like polish before resin dries instead of dipping acrylic: u can use regular acrylic, cornstarch, uv gel, or acrylic gel. Instead of tea bag: u can use coffee filters, , fiberglass/silk, nail tips, or thin fabric
No special strips. Tea is cheap, though--dump the tea and use the bag. You could probably do all ten fingers with one bag. I used thick coffee filter paper. Good luck!
It worked! I even did them longer than shown and filed to an almond shaped nail, and its strong and solid. Thank you!
I’m going to try them when I get home from vacation

@@SweetBrownGirl The video shows them using a tea bag.
I have been using tea bag fibers to fix breaks and weak nails. It does work
You can also use a bit of tea bag if your nail is split at the side you use it to patch it an it stops the nail from coming off completely

Does the tea bag stay stuck to the underside so more likely to hold onto bacteria?

So after you create these tips, then you can to dipping and start from the beginning steps?
Do you have to use Glue? I don’t have any at all. Can u use like base coat or like a strengthen coat.
NOT as easy as she makes it look but it's effective once you get the hang of it. When doing your whole nail it takes awhile to dry

I have a question use base and few times to dip it then last one seal protect ?
it works 1 i did it ....
How long does this last? Will this hold up against water?
