I just used this product. I never, ever do my own nails - and it didn’t turn out too badly (my left hand looks like a decent amateur attempt but my right hand *I’m right handed* looks more like a 3 year old did it) - but I’d offer these tips: After using step 3 activator/seal protect, take time to really clean up your nails with a thorough buffing to smooth the nail surface thoroughly to the point that it looks like a good matte finish that would be fine as is. I also ‘rinsed’ my nails with 70% isopropyl alcohol to clean up any dust or residue. Hopefully, it lasts for a little while but if it doesn’t... it’s not like I’m going anywhere and I’ll give it another shot.
Hope everything is going well a thing I like to do is start left handed because we tend to start doing things using the right first so if you start with your left it could trick your brain so it’s easier
Thanks! I think my top coat looks crummy on my first attempt due to the seal protect. Is it really ok to buff and use alcohol afterward, and right before top coat?
That's what I like about dip nails that you can use your own natural nails. I'm glad you show the tip on how not to start with whole nail because I tend to get the cuticle area bulky and try to fix it with filing but it makes the nail thinner and if falls

The thing I love about this video is that I can see exactly how to do this at home. Other videos use electric drills which I don’t own and would be nervous to use as a beginner.
Be careful with the cuticle oil afterwards because I found if you overuse it and rub it in really well and don't wash your hands afterwards it will cause lifting
ahhhhh that was my next question cause i was wondering if i was doing something wrong. my nails seem to lift after a week..grrrrrr i was thinking i was doing something wrong. thank you for the great tip
Thank you! I followed this exactly for me and my daughter’s nails. This was my first time ever doing this and it turned about great for the both of us!
I finally purchased the dip today and did it for my daughter and I! We love it! 💕 😆 Thank u for showing us all how to do it. Now I can do it for my clients at my shop!
These tutorials are so helpful, it helps us to know exactly what to do step by step and that is amazing. It's amazing for beginners or even for some that know what to do but need a refresh. Thank you so much for sharing
Wonderful video. I have been using dipping powder for 3 years now but after watching your video with Kiara Sky, my nails look better than they have ever looked. Thank you so much for doing this video and being so detailed and clear with the instructions. I ordered the Kiara Sky kit and extra dipping powders. 😁💖
So I ordered the dip powder starter kit and this tutorial is so helpful and this is really easy. The only thing is, the top coat is basically like nail glue which is why she said to wipe it off with a lint free wipe. idk where to get those so I used an alcohol pad but it was still too late because the brush had already started to get clumpy. luckily they give you extra brush tips with the kit so that you can switch them out.and maybe you can try to dip it in the brush saver before its too late but I didn't really know what that was for of course until it was too late. so really just be careful with the top coat and you'll be fine, my nails came out really well for my first time doing this. it got a little messy but im sure that will get better over time with more practice
I found some lint free nail wipes on Amazon. I've just discovered dip colors at a nail salon and absolutely love how my nails have grown with them! I just purchased my started kit and can't wait to try it!
Thank you so much for this video! I have tried to do dip powder nails at home twice and my third try I followed your steps. This time my nails look like I went to get them professionally done, I am so happy!

To retain your length stay away from hand sanitizers and grocery store cart wipes! These have high alcohol contents and will peel/break your nails. They will be so brittle. Also, try to not have your hands in water a lot. Like wear gloves when washing dishes, clothes and when you shampoo your hair. Sally's sells gloves for $3.00 for shampooing. When removing regular nail polish (use those without formaldehyde) do not use acetone polish remover. Instead use gentle ones like the one by Ella + mila...Hope this helps. 😁

Great video for beginners 🙂 also for nail techs to re-familiarise themselves with the steps of the application 😍 Thank you for making an easy to follow step by step video ♥️
Thank you thank you thank you so much you save me so much money on getting my nails done, and they also look like I got them done at the salon, I just got done doing my fourth set of nails and they look great thank you

Thank you so much on your detailed instructions. So thankful you did this tutorial. If I did not watch your tutorial I would be lost. The instructions that came with the deep were not clear. For beginners, the hand I started with was very Cakey and had a heavy build up, so on my other hand I used a brush to dap the powder instead of deeping then fill it down. I have a kit that does not include the clear dip powder. Is that absolutely necessary if you want to apply a gel color on top? Please advise and thanks!! Wonderful tutorial.
First time doing them today and when I used the top coat, it immediately harden moments after I lifted it off from the nail. But this video helped clarify a lot!
I just bought everything I need (or at least I thought!) to do this. I forgot to get a clear powder though for the base and the final dip. Is this essential, or will doing an extra dip into my color be sufficient?
Who is here because they ordered this because it’s what the nail techs use on you at the salon? They’re all closed so I guess I have to become a nail tech now
Steps 1.push back cuticles 2. Remove natural shine with file 3.apply bond to natural nail 4. Apply base to 3/4 of nails 5.dip into natural powder (Tip use fluffy brush to remove excess) 6.apply base hairline away from cuticles (Dip around 45° angle) 7. Dip into color 8.apply base to entire nail 9. Dip into color again 10.apply base and pour on clear 11.apply seal protect 12.file shape buff 13.wipe nails off with alcohol 14.apply seal protect 15.remove excess seal with lint free wipe 16.apply top coat 17.repeat step 16 let dry for 2 min 18.optional apply oils to cuticles
😍🙏🏻that’s the first kit I purchased 💕 best of the best!! I love ❤️ I am going to try that tip next time! Each base application - get closer and closer to the cuticle 🙏🏻
elizabeth Vitela loveee stamping with dip!! I have tried it different ways- after the 2nd seal protect I’ll stamp than apply the top coat and works great & I have also done it where I apply my 2nd seal protect apply my 1st top coat and than stamp than top coat again and that works as well 😍
I just ordered the dip starter kit and the recycling system and can't wait I haven't had my nails done in so long it's just to much finding someone to watch my 3 kids let alone pay $50-$80 and tip to get my nails done and still be disappointed how they turned out so I'm going to try and do them my self wish me luck lol

Thank you for this video because my nails are in NY staying inside! My friend B said this was a great video.I am buying this product today! Thank you Bernie🥰🥰🥰
Hi! Is it possible to put regular nail polish on the dip powder nails and then remove with non-acetone remover and switch to another color without damaging the dip-nail?
Hi Bestie! 💕We use just a generic brand of both hand file and buffer. Your local nail supply store should be able to recommend a few options for you. 💅🏻 We'll be sure to add this to our list! 📝
We don't test it this way so we can't guarantee the results but you're welcome to give it a try. Without knowing what formula is used on other powders, we can't know if our activator would work.
Question: how do you prevent the nail from becoming gummy after you activate it? I have this problem constantly that the color literally becomes a gum and just files completely off
You layers might be too thick so your base might not be drying prior to activating. 🧐 Please contact customer support and they can help figure out what the issue is. customerservice@kiarasky.com
This is by far the best! Video on this I have had this kiara kit for months and couldn’t get it perfect this has done it for me so thank you! Do you have a video on how to remove this dip product as well?
I’m having a problem with the cuticle area. Do you go around the cuticle area with an E file? My cuticle area never looks clean and rounded. I’m not a professional just trying this kit at home but I’m struggling.
I struggle with this too. I have probably watched over 100 videos on how to do this. And I will still get lifting and cuticles that aren’t smooth. I know I’m prepping right too. But I also used to have trouble with acrylic lifting when I’d get them done at the salon. 😭 maybe my nails just aren’t good for product 🤷🏻♀️
@@KiaraSkyNails When I use the hand file around my cuticle it tears them up. I have tried to avoid getting too close but to file, shape and buff, it just doesn't seem to work for me. I have ordered myself an e-file. I think it is because I have a super short nail bed. Everyone else seems to have such long nail beds. Can you do a video for those of us with really short nail beds?
Mikki Goodman I have that same issue. I have watched video after video and have done mine for over a year. But they never look good. My cuticles aren’t even. It seems like my product placement but im not sure. It’s really frustrating. I want to just give up but I have so much money invested
B matches, do I need a clear dipping powder, it’s quite hard to find a pot on its own, if u buy the sets they don’t have the clear or natural powder as she calls it, is it important and do you have any links or names of the natural powder, many thanks
I picked your video because I wanted something short and sweet and lost the instructions to my kit and one of my nails just came off and I can't get another nail dip for 2 weeks. It embarrassed me to be like this so I wanted to fix it before work tonight. Thanks so much for your clear and simple instructions!
Hey there! 🌟 We're so glad our video could help you out when you needed it the most! 💖 We understand how important it is to have clear and simple instructions, especially in those last-minute situations. Keep rocking those beautiful nails and have a fantastic day! 💅✨
Yeah, it's making your nails thinner and weaker. If you go to simply nailogical she has a video about how to keep your nails healthy and make your nails stronger.
I loved learning about the products and how patient and thorough the instructional videos are. Please keep them coming! i just got my certification as nail tech and I feel I have yet to learn so much. So i thank you!
Hey Babe! 💕Be sure that your top coat brush is clean. And make sure that after the second coat of seal protect you take a lint free wipe and really rub the nail with it to pick up any excess product. If there's any seal protect left on the surface of the nail, you'll have issues with the top coat. 💅🏻
THANK YOU for sharing this information! I just bought the Kiara Sky starter kit today and I can't wait to try it! I usually go to a nail salon for this, but lately my nails have been breaking because the application near the tip of my nail is so thin. I figure I could save money and do it myself....less likely to be extremely upset if they break, It would be my fault if they did instead of someone who was paid to do them.
Really hoping that you answer me and reach out I’ve even emailed the company and I followed every step of this video I’ve watched it 1000 times I’ve watched every single video that’s out there with dipping powder and when it comes to putting the topcoat my nails are never Ever shiny they’re very Dull and not shiny or glossy so what am I doing wrong! Help!
I love using my dip powder but I don’t understand is every time I do my own nails it takes me about 30 min to an hour for it to dry out before I could file it. Total all it takes me 1 hr and 30 min to get a complete finish.
Hi Babe! It could be the layers of base as Tina suggested, but also be sure you're applying a good amount of seal protect as that is what dries the nails. 💅🏻Hope that helps! 💕
I need help!!!! So I have tried the dipping powder about 3 times now. Overall I love it!!!!! So after applying seal protect I use the lint free wipes before applying the top coat as shown in the video. However my brush gets hard every time on the first hand and slows the process down because I have to use the brush saver. Any suggestions on what I’m doing wrong?

please let me know if it's really easy to do it at home because I'm planning to order it too😉
😍🙏🏻that’s the first kit I purchased 💕 best of the best!! I love ❤️ I am going to try that tip next time! Each base application - get closer and closer to the cuticle 🙏🏻
So happy to hear that Bestie! 💕
Kiara Sky Nails 🙏🏻💕❤️ yass always 💅🏻
20-30 minutes!! OMG my last set took me 5 hours but it was only my 3rd time. I'm determined to get better
Hi, bestie! You're making great progress! Keep practicing, and you'll definitely get even faster. You've got this! 💪💅😊
@@KiaraSkyNailsthank you 🥰
Love the video! can you guys make a stamping video? Like if we wanted to add a stamp design in between which steps would that be?
Great idea Babe! 💕We'll add that to our list! 📝
elizabeth Vitela loveee stamping with dip!!
Question
Do you use the brush directly, on all clients, as shown in the video?
Just wondering, as I've never been to a nail salon.
Yes. However it's important that the client and nail tech wash and sanitize their hands at every appointment. 💕
Just purchased and received this exact kit. I can't wait to try it out.
Thank you for this video! I’m going to go get this set!!!! This is the best video I’ve seen for this, you explained everything in great detail! I can’t wait to watch the other videos and try this myself!
We’re so excited for you to try. Let us know how you do. 💞
Few of my favorite things yes you can
Hi Besties! 💕 Lorrie is correct! You can. 💅🏻
Wow! I just asked the same question! This is awesome!
@@KiaraSkyNailsoh this is amazing. Is it applied after the top coat?
@@auroragloqueen4979 before ☺
Thank you so much for explaining the why you are using each item so helpful
What brand hand file and buffer are you using in this vid?
Also would love to see nail art sandwiching decals like fresh flowers with dip powder. 😉
Hi Bestie! 💕We use just a generic brand of both hand file and buffer. Your local nail supply store should be able to recommend a few options for you. 💅🏻 We'll be sure to add this to our list! 📝
And the metal drill bit , or buffer helps with that super fine sanding next you need to do afterwards
Can the kiara sky dip system be used on a different brand of dipping powder?
We don't test it this way so we can't guarantee the results but you're welcome to give it a try. Without knowing what formula is used on other powders, we can't know if our activator would work.
My client love dip powder they are always fascinated by it xxxx
Great tutorial and that nail color is 😍😍! Tfs ☺️
Thanks Babe! We love the color too! 💕
Thanks Babe! We love the color too! 💕
Thank you for your video, can’t wait to use your advice!
Are the lint free wipes dry? Or do they have alcohol ?
Where can I purchase them ?
Excited
Question: how do you prevent the nail from becoming gummy after you activate it? I have this problem constantly that the color literally becomes a gum and just files completely off
You layers might be too thick so your base might not be drying prior to activating. 🧐 Please contact customer support and they can help figure out what the issue is. customerservice@kiarasky.com
Me!!! this happens so much times
This is by far the best! Video on this I have had this kiara kit for months and couldn’t get it perfect this has done it for me so thank you! Do you have a video on how to remove this dip product as well?
Thanks Babe! Yes we do: ua-cam.com/video/26ZPpbYOD_4/v-deo.html
I’m having a problem with the cuticle area. Do you go around the cuticle area with an E file? My cuticle area never looks clean and rounded. I’m not a professional just trying this kit at home but I’m struggling.
MsTequilaSheila you can use the E file or hand file to go over it.
Hi Besties! Yes Linda was right. We go around with either an E file or a hand file over the cuticle area to round it out. 💅🏻
I love that the pigment from the dip powder doesn't transer onto the brush for the base. Great Formula!!
So glad you love it babe! xoxo
Post notifications on point and l love your videos 💞💕💕
Thanks Babe! 💕
i’ve been using your dip powder since 2017!! always making my nails look fire 🔥🔥
Tag us in a photo sometime! We'd love to see! 💕
B matches, do I need a clear dipping powder, it’s quite hard to find a pot on its own, if u buy the sets they don’t have the clear or natural powder as she calls it, is it important and do you have any links or names of the natural powder, many thanks
Should have watched this before i did mine -.- Good tips for next time though!! :)
There's always next time! 💕
i can't wait for this to be a statement Nail for my longer encapsulation for acrylic!
Forget about those nails lol your set is gorge!!💋
Thanks Babe!! 💕
I got my whole set and was watching your video to learn thank you
Omw I don't want a puppy for my Crown bday anymore lol I want this kit!
It makes a great birthday gift! 💅🏻💕
Yesss this was so satisfying to watch and super clarifying to how the sequence. Thanks for the tips!
Is it me or this method make the nails look thick?
It’s acrylic. Not exactly the same but all of these products are in the chemical family of acrylates.
Thank you for doing this video. So do you need always to use the natural powder in the beginning and the clear powder at the end of dipping process?
Using on clients, how do you keep powder sanitary???
Kaylee M get a scooper and poor it into their nail rather than having them dip their nail
You could use the recycling system for each step. ua-cam.com/video/e0aoO34sFaU/v-deo.html
if we remove the shine, wouldn't that mean we are making the nail thinner? does anyone know?
Yeah, it's making your nails thinner and weaker. If you go to simply nailogical she has a video about how to keep your nails healthy and make your nails stronger.
I loved learning about the products and how patient and thorough the instructional videos are. Please keep them coming! i just got my certification as nail tech and I feel I have yet to learn so much. So i thank you!
This is why we do what we do!😘 So glad these videos have helped. You're going to be AMAZING!💅🏼💕
@@KiaraSkyNails Thank you :)
Kiara Sky Nails Hi, I’m new at being a nail tech can show me some support by subscribing and liking my videos
20-30 minutes to do an entire set?! I need to learn to do this so that I can start saving money.
After shaping and applying the activator, how ling can I leave it before apply the top coat? Or should I apply the top right away?
My top coat ended up looking a lil lumpy/streaky (they were perf buffed underneath). Anyone have any tips?
All Ginger to Me maybe you didnt let it dry properly between coats.
Did you like your results?
Really hoping that you answer me and reach out I’ve even emailed the company and I followed every step of this video I’ve watched it 1000 times I’ve watched every single video that’s out there with dipping powder and when it comes to putting the topcoat my nails are never Ever shiny they’re very Dull and not shiny or glossy so what am I doing wrong! Help!
I had that happen once when I didn’t use the seal protect after the color.
Mine too and I follow all steps.
Thank you am bearly doing it on my little sisters now I got how to really do it thank you so so much ❤️❤️
I love using my dip powder but I don’t understand is every time I do my own nails it takes me about 30 min to an hour for it to dry out before I could file it. Total all it takes me 1 hr and 30 min to get a complete finish.
Hi, you may be putting too much resin gel on between layers....resin gel (glue) can be tricky to apply. Start thin and build from there.
Love you guys!!! @ely_hair.ri for the give away!! 🔥🔥💕💕💕 you’re the only dip I use in the salon!!

Thank you so much for the video. I actually have my nails dipped every two weeks, but will try to do my own if I need to.
Great tutorial, but I would never want my nails to look like that
Why??? I thought the shape was lovely...
And thank you for posting a lot of that because now a lot of it makes sense 👍💯❤

I know some technicians who use the activator between dip layers. Would that benefit the longevity of the nail? Should that be done? Is applying the activator after the dip layers (as shown in the video) a better process? Thank you!
Urgh she talks really fast! It ain’t a tutorial when I am reading the subtitles just to understand the step by step process! It’s says it’s for beginners! 🤦🏼♀️
