Maybe some of them came back as higher grades, and they didn’t want the original owner to know they made more money than estimated

@warrendinCLE even if that's the case the buyer did nothing wrong. He made an assessment, made an offer and the seller accepted. If a card graded higher, then he did better than he expected but still based his offer on what he believed the condition was. Just my 2 cents 🤗

I am the proud owner of two of the cards from the Arizona find. I did a cash and trade for the 1934 Goudey Jimmie Foxx SGC 2 with Leighton at the Philly show last March, and I hit the 1933 Goudey Paul Waner SGC 3 in the set break they did a few months ago. I sent you photos of these two cards on twitter, Mike.

I always ask myself why couldn’t I be so lucky to find something like this. lol happy for the people. I would have sleeved them and top loaders them for sure. I would keep a few for myself but put the rest out to public and hope whoever buys them would love and cherish theses beauties.

I had the good fortune to obtain 20+ binders of baseball and football card's in an attic. One binder was loaded with autographed card's. Yogi Whitey, Brooks and Harmon to name a few. But the best one is an autographed Joe DiMaggio Bowery card.

I think I'd have a heart attack because I would know how much money it would take to grade those cards and if with PSA a heavy up charge fee. I would sell a few raw and then take the money and grade the rest. Getting the story behind any Vintage cards is true gold to any collector.

I had pretty much the same story as this guy.
My neighbor approached me with an old collection he wanted to sell.
But instead of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig I found Gene Garber and Rich Hebner.
Instead of Moe Berg I found Ernie Whitt.
    But otherwise, the exact same.
    I am so lucky.

Hi Mike. I really enjoy this type of videos. Please keep these coming. I think that I would keep some of these cards for myself and sell the rest of them. I know I would keep a couple of those Ruth and Gehrig cards.

  • @nabzy28
    @nabzy28 5 місяців тому +1

Good for them. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they kept a handful that they really wanted to and sold a large bit of them in one private sale. Having such strong provenance - and near zero worry about them being trimmed or 'rehabilitated' in any way would be enticing for collectors who do not want cards like that in their collection.

This was a fantastic find - all of your videos prove that this stuff is still hidden out there - it gives me hope lol🤞🏻 - Without having them in hand, I would say that I would keep one of each of the big dogs and sell the rest, but I know myself pretty well - the collector in me would sell enough just to break even and keep the rest - it’s not every day you can get a Ruth or Gehrig for free. 👍🏻

These cards are out there still. You may recall my find of 50 or so t205 and t206’s in a scrapbook in a mobile home park a couple years ago, I mentioned it here once before. Nothing like this obviously but collections like that do pop up. Less and less over time I’m sure.

I’ld keep one of each card. The worse one. Then sell the others. I’m not a huge pre war fan and mostly collect football so although a very cool find not much interest to me. I’ld use the proceeds to build a house 😂😂 As always great video. I really like these attic find videos.

What would I do? I'd probably sell the smalls that I don't want to keep and take that money to grade the big ones with PSA.
And I'd have put them into card savers before the flight, but what do I know?

Man imagine if you was left this collection what would you do with it. Hopefully they sold some and then kept some to remember their grandparent by. Dealers are shady like that they offer you one low price and they make up excuses why they will grade a certain way. I would have sent the Babe Ruths off and see what they came back at then determined the price afterwards. I'm sure the buyer made 5-10x his money back on these cards. But at the same time I would be scared to send these into PSA or any grading company, because they can say they got lost in the mail.
