I've known Gary for about 40 years. He owned a card store here in the Riverside neighborhood of Buffalo. He was always so friendly, knowledgeable and helping of young collectors. There's probably no one in the industry as nice as him. His collection is mind blowing.
I agree on all accounts!! Did you used to visit his shop in Buffalo ?
@@leightonsheldon9469 oh yes. He was a great owner. He helped me find cards I needed. Was very fair and he still is. I see him at the local shows in town. We live in the same Buffalo suburb.
Very cool, if only we could go back in time!
That’s why I always loved the premise of the Back to the future movies 😎
I started in '57 as a 8 year old boy. Kept collecting straight through 1986. I opened a shop then and I used my collection as inventory. Closed shop in '99. Went to become a seller on Ebay until 2016 at age 67. Now retired so I do some collecting and dealing in modern cards. I made lot of $ on cards. Lost a bunch also at times. Had a lot of fun. Most fun was when I opened a pack of '57s and found my first Mantle card. That was a great pull for an 8 year old!
That’s fantastic! How long did you keep it for?
Keep the videos coming Leighton! I always look forward to them
always collect things that are unpopular... baseball cards...star michael jordans...pokemon...now nfts...
@jamesnguyen7069....what's a nft and why would I collect something I don't what it is 😂😂😂😂
Very cool
Great Video and very interesting. Background music is too loud though
Thx…and agreed on the music but we were at a convention and we don’t control the noise…that’s why I brought mics!
@@leightonsheldon9469 I’m so sorry. I thought you added the music. 🤦.
@@TJ_Is_Onlineappreciate you tuning in!
If he bought cards through the mail in1964 wouldn't he be a 60+ year collector ?
Very cool! Wish I could buy a wilt rookie for $2.50.
I’d take a torn one in half for $2.50🤪
nice video leighton!
Thx Jay !
The background music is way too loud, especially when the interviewee doesn’t have a microphone. It’s extremely difficult to hear and distracting. Otherwise, great video.
fix your audio my friend
Good video but your audio is way too loud.
Agreed…we were at the strongsville convention
Hard to hear him, and concentrate on what he is saying, with the distracting music.
Music to loud!
Thx…and I agree on the music but we were at a convention and we don’t control the noise…that’s why I brought mics!
