Thanks for joining the journey, whenever you did!
I jumped on somewhere between 700 and 900 subscribers. I went back and youtube is registering your 1950 Bowman video as the earliest that I watched (though I'm not sure it's my first). Honestly, your channel name drew me to your channel. I love the junk wax era - such nostalgia, so I thought, "here's a guy that's in my collecting wheelhouse." You also did TTM, liked rookies, and were transitioning to vintage... all things that I had in common. Congrats on 3 years! ~Allon
Awesome! Thanks for the longtime viewership, Allon!
I think I was one of your first 100 subscribers, can’t remember exactly but you had only a handful of videos when I first started watching. Congrats on 3 years!
You’ve definitely been here for a long time and I appreciate that!
Congrats, Mike! On 3 years. I don't know remember when I became a viewer, but it's been a fun ride. You would make my UA-cam, all-star team!
Thanks Andrew! You’ve been here for a long time for sure.
I started watching you abuut a year ago and you are a handful of UA-camrs I appreciate because it lacks drama and negativity and talks about the joy of collecting. That crack mishap is just so funny. Funny, the Foreigner reference as the lead singer is essentially a neighbor of mine.
Cool! Love that song
I was one of your 1000 subs! Congrats, 3 years already? I hope my channel is 10 percent as good as yours in 3 years.
You’ll do great!
Congratulations Mike on your 3 year anniversary! That’s quite an accomplishment & you should be proud of, especially when you hit 10,000 subs later this year.
I’ve been on board since you’ve had 2,500 subs & have enjoyed every video since. I remember October 2023 when there was a mass shooting (18 died & 13 injured) near you at a bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine. When I first heard about it, I immediately thought of you, since you’re the only person I know that lives in Maine.
So I went to UA-cam and watched your video that night about what you knew. Just happy it wasn’t you or your family/friends that were bowling that evening. Keep up the good work & thanks again for all your entertaining & educational videos.
@@jwwj30 thank you! Yeah that was a rough time and I was shocked at how many people watched that video. Thanks for following along for so long!
jwwj30: Hear, hear!
Congratulations on three years. I began watching back in the Fall of 2022 before you reached 2,000 subs. I enjoyed your channel right off. You are easy to listen to and your content is always great. You have evolved into one of the “have to watch” channels. You interact well with your viewers. You have become a friend and I appreciate you. Wish I had started watching earlier. Thanks, Mike, for your efforts. Your channel replaced several others. Just the truth! (You ain’t cash backin’ with that slab crackin!)
Thanks Ken! That means a ton to me!
Great chronicling of your channels history. More channels should do this/i certainly will strongly consider it. That crazy case blooper was hilarious- that would make a great short. Regarding your lighting- does a little more electricianry mean it’s more than changing the lightbulb? It would in my case-lol. You know how much I’ve appreciated you and your channel/ love the stories. You were one of my inspirations to starting my channel and now I’m getting all-star votes- imagine that! Good Collecting 👍❤️
@@commentingcollector that’s awesome - congrats!! As for the light, yeah, it needs to be rewired entirely and a new switch put in. My dad is going to help me, and by that I mean he’s going to do it.
@@JunkWaxHero lol
Congrats on 3 years, Mike! 👏 While I don’t think it was the first episode I’d seen of yours, the first one I remember was the Seinfeld Donruss Box episode. I’m a huge Seinfeld fan, and the trivia-esque nature of the content piqued my interest. I was starting to re-enter the hobby and remember thinking, “I feel like I could be friends with this dude”, haha. I’ve enjoyed your content ever since, but I’m biased on my favorite episode - which was the AFF where you featured me & my friend, Bill. We even sold you the ‘58 Red Sox program from his collection if you remember. A lot of us collectors re-entered the hobby at a weird time and it really helped to find content creators to trust (like you, Chris S, etc). With so much proliferation of garbage content, people like you guys brought a much-needed humility, authenticity & integrity to what you were doing (and without taking yourselves too seriously). Thanks so much 🙏
Thanks for the longtime viewership, Scott! And for providing content!
It's been great to see how you've evolved throughout your time on the platform, and to hear your thoughts on this evolution.
The content you provide is timely, insightful, thought-provoking, engaging, and delivered with a clear passion for the hobby; but as a viewer, in order to keep 'tuning back in' (and remaining actively engaged with the channel), I've got to not just like the content, but the person presenting the content. Without knowing you on a personal level (although, as viewers, we often feel we do), I find you to be very authentic, passionate about your hobby, principled, and without any sinister agenda. A thoroughly 'likeable' chap.
You should be commended for the great content you put out; but above all, it's the qualities within you that are most commendable, and should see both your channel grow, and your network within the hobby expand.
Keep up the great work! I wish you and your family every success. 👍
John, thanks so much for the kind words. I always appreciate them.
Great look back Mike! Love the expression on your face when you were cracking that pack slab!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Congrats on three years! I found you about a year ago and your channel has become my favorite as a collector. Perhaps it’s that we both live in New England and appreciate the Sox and Celtics, or that we are similar ages with a similar start to our collecting journey as kids. I appreciate that you have an approach to collecting that’s your own and isn’t influenced by others. Keep up the great channel!
Thanks Michael! I appreciate your contributions to my community!
Enjoyed it, Mike. My favs have been the episodes on card issues I knew little or nothing about (1982 Topps blackness, eg), and those that focus on hobby crime like the Strongsville, OH hotel caper. The weekly hobby news is always worth watching. And I thank U for discussing SGC, which I’ve really come to appreciate and use because of your thoughts on it. I think you had a sports magazine collector on once, too, and that was also a goodie. Congrats on 3 years. Wishing U continued success.
@@karlcicitto3095 thanks Karl! I appreciate that
I started watching back when you were doing some TTM stuff, this got me doing some myself. I had never seen the attempted graded wax pack break video...hilarious!
Haha thanks Steve!
Where has time gone, congratulations on 3 years of UA-cam. You’re an amazing guy and love your channel.
Thank you so much, Orlando!
Don’t remember when I subbed, nor do I really remember the video that caused me to. I like watching card youtubers who seem like cool people who like baseball cards and don’t give to wild of takes. Room isn’t always on fire with every move fanatics/panini makes. Congrats on three years cheers to three more!
@@rschreck97 thanks Riley!
I can't believe it's been that long mike. You always have been my go to guy for your story telling and keeping me up to date on information on the hobby. Not sure when I joined but it's been a great ride and and we thank you for sacrificing your time to give us what you do. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks Michael! You’ve definitely been around for a long time and I appreciate that!
Hi Mike. I joined your channel over a year ago and have watched all of your videos since the day I joined. My favorite series is attic find Friday. I look forward to your videos and LCS visits are fun to watch. Congratulations on the 3 years. Looking forward to meeting you at the You Tube get together on Thursday.
Awesome, thank you! Can’t wait to meet you
You do a great job as one of the hobbies down to earth “Everyman,” perfectly practicing Freud’s superego while the rest of us struggle. 😅
@@Al-ImprovEd2022 lol thanks I think. I didn’t do well in psychology in college.
@@JunkWaxHero not doing well in psych is the main skill for having a healthy Superego!!!😅
Congrats on 3 years Mike, love this recap video, fun to go back and watch from the beginning. I'm sitting at 49 subs, I'm still interested in doing more connect, keep collecting. BTW, cracking the slab made me laugh! Lol
Haha thanks Doug!
You’re off to a good start. Keep it up!
The early videos were a little crude, but it's not like it was Tim & Erics awesome show if you get the reference. Like an mlb rookie you had to spend some time working your way up the minors.
@@ASMRPeople thanks Jason! I’ve gotta go back and watch some of that show. I love those guys.
Hadn't seen that clip of you opening the graded pack. 😂
Cheers!
It’s a classic
I remember the pack slab crack that was hilarious and still is. 😂😂😂. Your videos and content has definitely come along way. Always great stuff. I’m not sure when I subscribed probably in the first 500. I also sent you some Yaz cards for your Yaz run at some point around the 1 year mark. Congrats on growth.
And I still have those! I’m about to complete my Topps PSA run!
@@JunkWaxHero awesome show it off when you complete it. I’d like to see it.
Congratulations! I joined your channel around the time you asked subscribers whether to keep the channel name Junk Wax Hero or not.
@@jlbaseballcards thank you!
Congrats on your UA-cam anniversary! That pack slab crack video was tremendous!
@@gregwilliams855 lol thanks!
Great Video, love seeing the history of your channel.
My favorite video has to be that Yaz card room 😉
Keep up the great work 👊
That’s an okay one 🤣
I can't recall the exact subscriber I was but It had to have been about 2 years ago. I liked that you were from the New England area a smaller channel (at the time). Attic Find Friday turns out to be my favorite 'series' on UA-cam and Clearing the Bases has grown on me as well.
100k Subs before you know it!!
Thanks for the longtime watching and membership, Brian! 100k subs is unlikely but that’s okay.
@@JunkWaxHero Thank you for the longtime content!! 100K is nothing.. you go this! The glass is always half full.
Congratulations on 3 years. I know it takes a lot of work. You're my favorite UA-camr... from Maine.
I'd like to see more about the card room if you ever want to show it.
Regarding analytics, I have 1 video that has ~15x the views of all the others and I'm not sure why. The thumbnail is pretty much the same. The content is nothing really unique. Can't make sense of it.
Yeah sometimes the algorithm is a mystery
I’ve only been watching for the past 4 months or so. Loved the clip of the slab breaking. I’ve only seen how my local card shop does it for cards, literally throwing them down on the hard floor repeatedly. I guess it gets aggression out but I would think there is a risk of messing up the card further.
@@cntryniche yeah that seems crazy!
Congrats on 3 years! You’re a great story teller!
@@johnmabie5266 thanks John!
There's a yaz signed sporting news cover on ebay from 1970. Don't know if you need that but auto looks good to me
@@dvitoc thank you!
3 years already. Scary. Seems like a year, at the most. 👍😎
600 videos!
Only 6 cards on shelf! 😮 you have come a long way
Really liked your presentation of the shop visits....a little more relaxed and less formal and it came across really well.
@@randyworden5232 thanks Randy!
I started watching when I loved to watch junk wax investor untill that changed hands and your channel name was simular I've been hooked since. I think we all have less hair and gained a couple of pounds. Keep up the great work all the best for the future from the emerald isle 👍🇮🇪🍀
Awesome, thanks for the long distance watching!
Congrats, sir! You were just a wee little lad. Kudos for sticking with it and sharing your hobby love.
@@KipArmadillo thank you!
My current videos are bad. My early videos were awful. My views reflect this. 😂
lol you do great!
Congrats on 3 years Mike! Love your channel!
Thanks so much, Brent!
Great video to show all the progress. I think I subscribed sometime end of 2022. The pack slab cracking clip was great
Also meant to add it makes sense the history of bowman video took a lot of time because there’s a channel named company man and he does that kinda thing and I always figured his videos took a long time
lol thanks Jordan
Happy to see that a Derek jeter was a first card on your wall!
lol oh no
@@JunkWaxHero oh yes! You can’t change history… ha!
Fitting that Fanatics video you were sitting in the dark. I'm not a fan of Fanatics and not looking forward to 2026. Keep up the outstanding work, your channel is one of the few I fully enjoy watching because to your honesty in the story telling.
@@madcitybrew that means a ton to me. Thank you!
I really like this video. Your growth is apparent. 🤜🤛. Thanks for being yourself.
I appreciate that!
Been watching for over a year around the national first video I watched was the attic find 52 mantle video

Didn't even watch the video yet. Having a couple snow cones and just thought of something I wanted to get out there. My brother has 18 mutual friends on Facebook with Jim Kelly. Don't let your meatloaf.
