What is your favorite card here?
I’d say the Ruth. Really nice collection
I dont know anything about them, but that Mickey Mouse card is really cool.
Besides the obvious, Gehrig, Ruth cards the Mickey Mouse are cool. Thanks for the attic find Saturday 👍❤️
I love them all but being Canadian I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful Howie Morenz Sport Kings card next to the Cobb.
The Ruths and Gehrig. But what's incredible, is they were owned by same person for 90 years? If I understood correctly. That's amazing
I just bought a collection recently and it spans from the 40's into the 80's, but the 80's is all early wax...There were also photographs, it appears this dude was a minor league ball player... He passed away, and his widow had it, so I bought it.... There was a monster box of 1971 & 72 Topps, I'm still going through all of it.... There is a ton of 50's and 60's...I paid 5k for the collection but I feel bad because it's worth significantly more that that, but I only had an hour to go through all of it... There are some really nice cards, so it's certainly a home run for me....
Nice buy!
My grandparents owned a general store from the late 50s to mid 1970s. I always dream of finding a stash of unopened cards . Probably will never happen but it’s fun to think about.
If it does happen, you know who to go to to tell the story! 😊
You can't beat 'finds' like this. These are the stories that I hope never end. Great Video!
Awesome collection
Just discovered the channel. I just wanted to say, I really enjoy the fact that you provide good stories about cards beyond the value. Its a change of pace, and its allowing me to enjoy the hobby in a perspective I prefer. Thank you.
Great! I love to hear that.
Really enjoying your content, especially the way you navigate the good/bad in other of your videos. I was reminded of something, and I'll give the short and sweet version.
A friend and I, many many years ago, got some pictures of a very large collection from the late 40's to late 50's. All baseball. There were Mantle rc's, Clemente's, etc...That's just that we could see in the two pics we were sent, sitting unprotected in a suitcase. But looked amazing none the less. It was his cousins in-laws that found them in an estate evaluation. This was pre-internet also. So we had his cousin give them a check for $5,000 just to let us see them first. We drove from FL to NJ the next day. But evidently the check surprised them so much they took them somewhere locally to have appraised. When we got there, what was left fit in a shoebox. It was gut-wrenching. They handed us the shoebox and said "You can keep these for your trouble".
My friend passed away a few years ago, but I've got to see if he kept those pictures.
Oh man… that’s wild
@@JunkWaxHero Never shared that story before. Honestly, still a little salty about it. But I’m going to at least write out the whole story just for posterity. Cheers.
Awesome episode!!!!! Love the story behind this attic find
So awesome
Great, feel good story , Mike. I appreciate the way you present something with such professionalism. It would be cool to come across so important cards like this.
Thanks Ken!
Wow, what a great find.
I liked Lou Gehrig, Mickey, WS tickets.
Me too!
Hi Mike. This was a great story and hopefully they never end. My favorite cards are the Babe Ruth and Mel Ott. I think I would have kept one of those. Thank you for the video.
Thanks Jim! I hope they never end too
Always amazed at these finds. My father was born in 1924, so he would have been 9 in 1933 and he grew up being a big NY giants fan., however his dad sadly passed when my father was only 3. I imagine there was no money in the family for baseball cards in 1933 or 34 otherwise I might be one of your attic find Fridays
That’s sad
Yep
Always enjoy the finds, thanks for sharing
My pleasure!
Name tag collection, perfect. Nice variation on the collection.
Yes!
Know Yonkers well ! Stamps were very cool! Great episode
Thanks John!
Super cool find
Leighton from just collect is a decent guy and does quite a bit for the hobby. it does appear he gets his fair share or even more of his fair share of these outstanding vintage collections..... he does advertise and has a business which definitely helps..... my husband and I have had some nice vintage purchases from collections in the past but nothing like this....would be nice
Yeah he seems great
Great find. Leightons a good guy. Met him at Shriners show a couple of times. Love the 33 Foxx cards. I’ve got one but it’s one of my favorites. I still need a Moe Berg Batter Up to complete my Redsox team set. If one’s in there I would choose that.
Good pick!
Nice find! I actually have a bunch of the non sports cards! Including the 1 Mickey Mouse Woopee card!
Nice!
Always great stuff! If I could only be so lucky! Lol
I live not too far from Moynihan. If you hit any of the local shops, let me know. I might stop by when you're in and say hello.
DMing you!
