Hey everybody! I started a raised garden bed company, Gro-Rite! My first product is a beautiful raised garden bed you can assemble in 10 minutes or less. Claim your bed before they are gone - pre-orders are piling up fast and quantities are limited. -> groritegarden.com/launch
I have Camellias that are about 60 years old. They are giants, probably 20 ft tall and gorgeous! But my favorite screen trees are Tea Olives. Beautiful evergreens with fragrant white flowers in spring. Low maintenance and no pruning :)
@@billrobbins5874 They look a lot like a wax leaf Ligustrum (forgot to mention that :) but Tea Olive doesn't seem to be as invasive. I haven't found any olive volunteers after 10 yrs.
Hello my friend. This is more than just a video, you put love and passion into it. Great job! Thanks for sharing this video! Always believe in yourself and keep doing what you love, good luck 👌❤🌻
You are a hoot! I live in Florida and was happy to see some of your trees will survive here ,I have a rental home as a backyard neighbor so people come and go and the last ones were a doozy so I’m going to the garden center today to see what I can find ,keep up these fun videos and great information
if you have the room Carolina Sapphire trees are the ticket! grow incredibly fast and are such a nice tree. they grow much faster than green Giants too. they take well to shearing/shaping.
My daughter thinks you are so funny 😁! Lol! Me too! Thanks for sharing the info! I am in zone 7 & just planted Emerald Green Arborvitae trees. 1st time Gardner here!
For some reason we have had bad luck with the emerald green arborvitae on two different properties in south MS. I’ve about give up on them. Also, we’ve had a really brutal summer and bad drought and Leyland Cypress, emerald green and green giant have all suffered or died. I’m about to stick to our native cedars. Carolina sapphire cypress did ok.
Thank you so much!! Trying to figure out what to use for privacy but won't piss the neighbours off too much (by blocking their sun, or shedding flowers or leaves unto their property). The Emerald Green Arborvitae seems to be the perfect choice! Can any of these be left in pots for years so they can be moved around if necessary? Also, another video suggested bamboo trees as privacy (which can be left in containers). Would you suggest this for Ontario climate? Sorry, I don't know the zone we're in. Thanks again!!
I really really need to stop seeing the huge eyesore next to our property… I tried planting baby blue spruce and red maple… All 80 trees died It’s so hard to water every single day and hit each one What would you suggest?
New subscriber. Great video! I live in an area that is prone to wildfire. Any suggestions for privacy hedge that is a little more fire resistant than firs? I really like the Camelias. I have a perfect spot for those. But I am looking for something taller out front. Any thoughts on English Laurels or similar? Thanks.
Those cedars look nice but deer will eat them all even when advertised as deer resistant, unfortunately they are a major fire hazard in any kind of wildfire situation
Be careful make sure these are native to your area and not just zoned. There are 10,000s that are dead or dieing in the south because they didn't make it through the hot dry summer and most were over 10 years old. Plant trees and plants from your area started from seeds from your area.
A new subscriber! Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm with us. Would you consider sharing landscape design ideas with mixed screening plants? For typical suburban backyards? Thanks
How about a video featuring trees (zone 5 tolerant) that would work as privacy in a SMALL backyard setting! (A small backyard that has neighbors (LOVELY neighbors😍) who has an above ground deck and pool smack up beside my fence so that when standing on their deck, my family feels like fish in a fish bowl!😢 I need some options on trees that have an umbrella top & leggy bottom that won’t take up space in my small backyard! Please HELP!!! (I Love your videos! You make me laugh and you come across as SUCH a nice person!)
I know the feeling and it’s a bad one, and these hillbillies have attacked me on my own property before. I can’t get out of their sight in my yard or field.
I planted 50 of the Green Giants two year’s ago to block out the interstate noise. They are doing well and I cannot wait for them to get much taller in the next few years.
Please help us!! We live in far NE Oklahoma, closest town is Langley. We have 5 acres of heavy clay. There's no way we can amend all of our soil. We're soggy in the spring, & get seriously hot (in the 100s) earth cracking droughts, all summer to fall. Unfortunately, we can't irrigate the areas where I need privacy trees. We are literally on the Zone 6b/7a line. I need something that grows fast, & isn't too expensive because I need 30 or 40 trees. What do you recommend? Thank You so much!
When you were talking about the Green Giant Arborvitae, there was a small Proven Winners shrub with pink flowers or foliage on it (I couldn't tell which), what was that plant? It's so cool! Love your videos!👍
Brand new subscriber. Loving the videos I’ve seen so far! I’m looking for something in the 4’ tall range and narrow. I have a 10’ wide area that needs some low privacy without blocking the view of my 10’ tall Japanese maples.
Thank you, thank you for this video. I have been trying to find an evergreen that I like for privacy. I like the texture of the Leyland Cypress but have been continuing searching for just the right evergreen. The Golden Hinokia is it. Its really beautiful and I love the Golden color. I want to plant them across the road edge of our property interspersed with White Spirea (Bridal Wreath) and Hot Pink Weigela. What do you think? White or Hot pink? You made me laugh again today from the git go. I'm glad you are good with a bit of levity. It makes things much more fun. Love it when you crack up and keep going. The world needs all the fun it can get. Cheers my Friend.....
You are hilarious and very entertaining! I am learning so much about plants through your videos! You have such a great personality! Please keep making these!
Hello, I am a new subscriber😊 I am in zone 7a or 7b in NC. I am in search of ideas for privacy screen evergreens that can be grown in pots at the edge of my patio, but still tall enough to block windows of bully neighbor?!!!
I had a pair of Eastern Red Cedars pop up on either side of my driveway entrance about 6 years ago. They are now 20 foot tall and 20 foot wide. I have a Cherry Laurel and it has been propagating itself like crazy and creating dense thickets that my chickens love.
I live in mn and need a cold hardy cover wall taller the better and fast growing. Looks like cypress is a nice shape, smoke bush, choke cherry, arborvitae, hmmm
Love all the videos you put out! I use your suggestions of plants in my landscaping company. Would love to see your ideas on which plants to use on the different garden types(Formal,Cottage,Informal).
I've heard that bonsai tree is a normal tree stress trained to grow slow and stay small. I wish to try a pine. Which type pine would be best? Do you think just use a indigenous one?
Hello!! I love watching your channel. I laugh every time I watch you. I will be needing good screening in my front yard. I also have hollies that I am going to take out. Then I'll be able to come and get my new trees. Thanks so much!!

I need a bug resistant pine that is cheap in price and will block my neighbors yard he moved in next door and has pitbulls that live in his yard they bark all day long and he doesnt ever let them in his house they live in his back yard now anytime im outside my house all you smell is dog feces and all you hear is these dogs barking 24-7 i need pine trees to block them completely because the fence is only a wooden fence thats only 3 feet tall and since this guy moved in its been a nightmare! I cant even go in my back yard anymore. I figure if i plant pine trees and create a wall with pine maby i can get my backyard back.

Nice selection brother! But no upright junipers !?!
Please show us good fence trees 🎄 evergreen for CLAY soil, Missouri

Can I make an actual hedge of green giant arborvitaes? By topping them around 12 feet? When they are touching on bottom…?
Need to plant about 10 more giants... staggered between the others. An actual screen.
