My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

The problem is having access to things that people are addicted to. Remove access to these things and the problem goes away. Yeah it’s mentally tough but suck it up right? These people can order food at their own will and have it delivered. That’s part of the problem. Remove the food and remove the problem. Keep it under 2000 cal a day that’s all

@@noktrix9451 I always have sympathy. These addictions mostly start when they’re young, and 99% of the time went through something traumatic that made them addicted. I’ll never judge them for that.

I love watching these videos for motivation to keep going with my own weightloss journey.
I'm taking control of my health so I hopefully don't end up needing heart surgery or something like people in my family have. Heart disease runs in my family and I know I can help myself out by eating better and exercising.
The amount of food and the types of food these people consume both amazes me and completely disgusts me!!

I'll tell you my story--and keep it abbreviated. I spent several years 125 Lbs overweight. I grew up skinny, but 'learned' along the way that eating could make stress easier to handle. We went through a period (self employed) that was horrifically stressful. I finally made a decision to take back control of my life. My S.O. and I completely changed our lifestyle; low carb, no soda, VERY little eating out and no fast food. We had been wine lovers for years, but cut that out too. We joined a gym and began exercising regularly. He (not badly overweight) has lost 25 Lbs. and I have lost about 105 Lbs. I won't say that the 'emotional eating' thing doesn't raise its ugly head occasionally, but I will tell you that I'm so freaking GLAD that I finally made that decision--and I feel SO much better. No going back.
