My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.
As an addict this kind of stuff is so interesting. They can openly indulge but if I racked a line up on a table infront of everyone it’s a different story.
Sorry for your addiction. Being trapped in any kind of addiction is dreadful, my thoughts and prayers are with you 🙏
The problem is having access to things that people are addicted to. Remove access to these things and the problem goes away. Yeah it’s mentally tough but suck it up right? These people can order food at their own will and have it delivered. That’s part of the problem. Remove the food and remove the problem. Keep it under 2000 cal a day that’s all
Because you don’t need drugs. You need food, though. These people have an addiction and most of the time they’ll use the “I need food” excuse.
@@ChelIsMagnificent yup. Can’t really cure the problem generically, the person has to do it themselves
@@noktrix9451 I always have sympathy. These addictions mostly start when they’re young, and 99% of the time went through something traumatic that made them addicted. I’ll never judge them for that.
I still cannot figure out how these families can afford what their total food and meal budget costs.
I’m not convinced this is how they shop or eat daily. I believe the show gives them money, says go grocery shopping.
I’m not saying they eat healthier normally, but I’m guessing they are given carte blanche on camera
For real! We do well to feed our family of 5 each week but we definitely could never afford the amount these people eat!
Most of these have their partner's income and are on disability, probably, don't quote me on it, the shows money, possibly also have family giving them money. That's the only way I can see how.
All of the taxpayers and their "disability ".
Right!
What gets me is these people who can't take care of themselves have pets in the house
Yes that’s scary
She worries, she eat
She sad, she eat
She bored, she eat
She happy, she eat
= she eat
That's what addiction is pretty much u use every excuse u can to do whatever it is u addicted to
This kind of obesity makes me wanna vomit. Just watching them eat is sickening.
"I'm trying to eat healthier!"
*Dumps 12 servings of melted cheese onto 1 serving of broccoli.
Most of the food they buy are pretty cheap, processed stuff. Fast food has been pretty cheap, until recently. Expensive food might force these people to change.
Well it's veges
Dr. Now is amazing , he even makes house calls.
I love watching these videos for motivation to keep going with my own weightloss journey.
I'm taking control of my health so I hopefully don't end up needing heart surgery or something like people in my family have. Heart disease runs in my family and I know I can help myself out by eating better and exercising.
The amount of food and the types of food these people consume both amazes me and completely disgusts me!!
I'll tell you my story--and keep it abbreviated. I spent several years 125 Lbs overweight. I grew up skinny, but 'learned' along the way that eating could make stress easier to handle. We went through a period (self employed) that was horrifically stressful. I finally made a decision to take back control of my life. My S.O. and I completely changed our lifestyle; low carb, no soda, VERY little eating out and no fast food. We had been wine lovers for years, but cut that out too. We joined a gym and began exercising regularly. He (not badly overweight) has lost 25 Lbs. and I have lost about 105 Lbs. I won't say that the 'emotional eating' thing doesn't raise its ugly head occasionally, but I will tell you that I'm so freaking GLAD that I finally made that decision--and I feel SO much better. No going back.
Honestly how can they afford this lifestyle I’m just shocked by the portion sizes
Can you imagine what would happen if they used weed for pain and had a munchie multiple times a week
With this inflation, my grocery bill is about $700 for a household of 3 average size individuals so I can only imagine how much they spend on food. Their fast food bill for a day is what I can eat off of in a week.
Does whoever makes these vids just clip stuff from stuff they previously uploaded? There are way too many repeated stories.
Agreed! It’s annoying 🙄
The corn dogs were likely sausage wrapped in pancake batter.
Pancakes aren’t too bad - at least in europe. There’s a reason a lot of American food is banned in other country’s.
The way they shovel that food in their mouth and barely chew it before swallowing it. They disgust me
Christina ended up being a knockout and a total babe after she lost 500#; she's also happily remarried with 2 kids 💃
A knock out? Yeah ok
How mean 👎🏼💩👎🏼
You have to work to get that fat seriously if their Enablers just cut half of the calories they eat they would start to Shrink!
Exactly. I would put a plate of healthy food in a reasonable portion size, in front of them and go outside. If they begged for dessert, I would give them some fruit. No way, they're going to get up and chase me.i have zero sympathy for these overgrown toddlers.
@3:55 Angel - I remember the full episode and I believe it was on its' way to being a success story. I particularly recall thinking her boyfriend Donnie was an absolute GEM. 💗 He continued to be very loving, supportive & fantastic father (that he'd been the whole time) She was SO lucky to have him.
There's always someone in the house that could use Dr. Now too
Those are sausages covered with pancakes not corn dogs in the last clip
who cares,it's just as fatning.
@@mikivanduyn9630 true. Just saying because they mentioned the corn dogs being dipped into syrup. Which is kinda unappetizing to most, so clarification helps for some people. Maybe that’s just my own disordered eating poking through.
10:38 HER BED IS ON CINDERBLOCKS!!! 😭
This show makes me appreciate being too poor to afford this much food.
I just want to say jelly on a sausage biscuit is fire. Syrup on a corn dog is elite. Especially when the sausage/ breakfast corn dogs.
I swear I lose weight watching this stuff 🤢 lol
I just could not afford the groceries!
They are sausage pancake sticks not corn dogs that's why she put syrup on it. They are actually pretty good.
Corn dog, beef dog pancake on a stick wtf cares, that lady shouldn’t eat unhealthy foods.
Chay is a sweetheart, I want to give him a hug
For those questioning the food costs, it appears that the show pays for food so they can film them eating a huge amount at one time. But in general, very calorie dense but low in nutrients food is super cheap. $1 frozen processed dinners, $1 McDouble’s, etc.
In that case, they probably happily go to town since it's a golden chance to pig out for free 😣
Self control. Then you can lose weights And pay for all that food
I'm overweight myself but these people give other big people a bad look all overweight people are not eating this type of foods and eat this much in a week what they eat in a sitting SMFH 😮😮😮
You’re overweight though
Every time I see Ashley, I wonder if that's brown blush on her cheeks or what.
I think it’s pigmentation from diabetes
Those are pancakes and sausage on sticks, not corn dogs.
When Americans say "biscuits " is it the same as uk scones?
Yes I think so
A scone in America is sweet. Like a bakery pastry usually glazed with frosting or fruit filling. A biscuit is a baked fluffy dough that is not sweet called scones in the UK.
She's livid at how much she eats but yet she makes all the food for her
I used to be almost 400 lbs. had the surgery and lost the weight! When I find myself veering off course, I watch these shows. Kinda scares the 💩out of me that that could be me again.
You don't want to fuss with your girlfriend? Oh, that's a good reason to enable her!
You havent addressed the question that gets asked multiple times every time you post a video. How do they afford all that food!!!
I think its a fair question!
Everybody always asks that. None of these people are rich , food stamps can only go so far. The only thing I can think of is that they have huge unpaid credit card balances.
SSDI
The show pays for it when they're on the show 🙏🏾🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ that's one reason why they indulge the way they do 🙏🏾🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
@@UnB3aLi3vAbl3Exactly how much do you think SSDI pays? It’s not enough to cover what they eat, not by a long shot!!
@@daneenh5348 Good point. They might also have food stamps but we do see a lot of them eating out excessively. I’m guessing that the budget the show gives them is pretty high & they might be exaggerating their normal meals for the show but then again they reached/maintain 600lbs & that’s a costly thing
I will never understand these peoples obsession with food and the huge amounts they eat.😳🤔
I think is a sickness psychological, and hormones are not working properly
Did anyone else see the roach on the counter at 3:15?
"It's never to early for lunch"
Before 9am is too early chubby!
That was NOT 4 corn dogs. Those are Jimmy Dean Sausage and Pancakes on a stick. Which is why she used syrup. I never tried them with jelly 🤢 My kiddos love these for breakfast. 55 seconds in the wrapper in the microwave and breakfast is served 😂 before school that is. They get a real breakfast on the weekends.
how can they afford rent and all that food??
That's what we all want to know! I think it's a fair question!
I dont understand also
Well there's always is food banks.
Coupons?
Unhealthy foods are often less expensive in my experience, plus they may be on some type of assistance if their health prevents them from working
Common words.....my body hurts... I'm in so much pain....etc etc.....this is the body's way of getting a point across.....if there wasn't any pain I'd be concerned....😮
Oh boohoo!!!!cry me a river !!! like they are the only ones with mess up childhood 🙄🤔
Ya get him a cheeseburger 🍔 😮👍😉🤔👀😳🍔🍔🍔 you eat your self to death 💀👍
How can the human stomach hold that much food?!!!
That’s what I been wondering ( if I drink to much water my stomach will start to hurt let alone all that food🤑)I don’t understand it🤔
So I got you both... .. . Onions and fries!!! 😂. These videos are ridiculous!!!
There is no excuse for all of them
Whos or how they pay for they food .
I lost 10 pounts last week only by watching this people eat,I CANt not eat WAO this is my best diet
Gluttons! No interest in health!
Everyone has choices, even where what you put in the body.
gosh i wanna eat
Watching these videos , may not be the best thing to do. Seeing all this food A LOT, may even break your diet. Because, you may start wanting it to much, and then........
@6:23 - I think there's THREE bologna sandwiches. Two on the plate, one in his hand - unless the plated one are cut in half. That's a lot of food, but I think we've seen much worse
On my days off, ill make breakfast burritos (2) with 3 or 4 eggs cheese n depending the meat. But a dozen (12), I thought I was using alot but 12 eggs, looks like 10 sausage, and toast. Woah
9:42 No they don't ask you because the other family members are worried that there will be nothing to order after you ate there
Those aren't corn dogs, they are pigs in a blanket.
She's the pig in a blanket.
I love bologna sandwiches!
@9:41 "My family doesn't even ask me to go out to dinner anymore, because they know it's to difficult to leave the house"
Not to sound insensitive, but, are you sure that's the reason?
Or is it because they can't afford to pay for the mass quantities of food that you consume in a single sitting.
How do they afford all this food? Those eating out often, where does that money come from?
Our ancestors left people like this in the fields and moutains alone.
Chay comes out as a transwoman in her ep (or maybe their second ep?). But it’s so weird cos she changes her name, even tho chay is already feminine
syrup on corndogs is pretty common. just saying
nice roach in Holly's kitchen
They must rob a bank to buy that much food, 😵💫
This narrator is so negative and snarky.
Always blameing past trauma for present unhealthy behaviours
Need to live in the present and take responsibility for personal choices if you are ever to master your weaknesses
Eight dozen eggs. Impossible.
16:00 those are pancakes on a stick. Duh
She complained about she can't move and goes to doctor now but keep your mouth shut don't eat a super market
How can u love that
I can't say for certain, but genetics is also a factor. Many parents are also overweight. That's why the only thing you have to do is notice it and be careful.😢
Ya mom has her mind on Tuna so no wonder she gets no support from her mom.
Mama always knows best, you should listen to your mother. No one has your back like your Mom!!!
Ashley's face looks so brused
Mom is the same size she will eat till she dies thay will never lose weight her mom is the same size how can she help her but thay don't and it is funny how thay cray thay are the 1 who makes them so big there frend are not friends if thay help her get fat
What in the world is on her face?
Pathetic 🙄
Greed, gluttony, sloth.............
the same thoughts as me.. what always makes me feel sick is not so much the amount that is eaten but the way its eaten. i have always wondered how they can breath while eating, it is like watching a bin truck.
Pigs , my lord
