My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

I used to be surprised every morning when I woke up when I was an alcoholic in my disease. Now that I am a sober alcoholic each day I am happy to be alive. I cant believe her life is not a living hell. I only wish for her to get help to get well.

Me too, and I have a decent job. Most of them live with someone, I imagine their disability and food stamps go to food, and those living with them pay the bills. Some have a Onlyfans page as well . There are people who pay good money just to watch them eat, plus buy them food

I was pretty overweight most of my childhood. It wasn't until I turned 15(32 now) that I decided I was tired of looking and feeling the way I did. Signed up for my high school's weight training and track program, dropped 100 pounds pretty damn fast, spent the next 14 years trying to pack on as much muscle as I could. I'm about 168 at present moment but it's mostly muscle mass. On a high calorie day, I probably consume 1200 calories if even that. Plus my job is high physical so I'm always in a state of burning calories. I could never bring myself to either looking or eating like this. My fat days are years behind me and will stay right there. I can't even imagine the kind of agony these people must be in physically. Health is wealth.

Keeping it real. Every Mom doesn’t want to take care of their kids. Some Moms carry their babies to term, find out parenting is hard work and check out leaving their kids to parent the parent. It happens a LOT.

Less. When my brother was having a hard time, he got SNAP $25/month. That was a decade ago but the prices probably outpaced the benefits.

These people always say there’s no “healthy options” while moving to Houston. No healthy options on the road. TOTAL BS. Every fast food place these days have lower fat and calorie meals. There’s also usually a diner that they could get something other than fast food.
They don’t WANT the healthy food. They want the CRAP. Even a burger at a restaurant is WAY LESS calories than any fast food burger. And they KNOW that. These people know damn well soda is high calorie and they guzzle tons, all day every day. Juice is a total sugar bomb lol.
This is one thing that always drove me nuts watching this show.

Totally agree about the soda and juice. And water is sooooo good! Yes, every once in a while, I’ll get the taste for a sip of juice or soda, but that’s every once in a while. Not daily, not even weekly. And I’m no Thin Mint either so I’m not judging here but come on-set some limits for heaven’s sake!

I'm told these types of people deserve to be thin & that I should be fat. I eat 3 meals per day most of the time & workout. I am even lucky if I have the strength to eat 3 meals per day, where do they put everything they eat? These people's eating habits make mine look mild. TY for sharing this. God Bless You & stay safe.

If only these people could realize that one small step at a time, one small change at a time, could begin to make a difference. Like, okay, you’re still eating a gazillion calories in one meal, but how about we cut out the soda entirely? Then next time, how about no dessert after every meal? It’s sad.
