Once they get to this point & become basically immobile, they file for disability (unable to work) & get disability money from the government every month. Sadly, a lot of enabling can happen this way in low income families, because it keeps the food paid for with minimal work - no real motivation at that point to get a job & get healthy when you don’t need to do anything in society.
Look they never eat 35 self made sandwiches or 3 plates of fresh cooked potatoes with steak and vegetables. Its always what we call "fast food". The processed food is full with substances that makes you addicted to it. Oh well. Nevermind. At least pharmacy is making money.

The only joy in my life was drugs and alcohol. I was told by the doctors if i wish to remain alive i had to quit so i did. I have no joy but im alive. Addiction can always be stopped. It is what it is.
But you can practise to feel Joy again. At least a little. And when you stick to your goals of not using substances youve got the Power to change your life and everything that makes you unhappy and sick. @@GIR177 the key is eat low carbs and walk a couple of hours each day during the week then eat high carbs and no excersice on the weekends. when you do that go back and forth like that, you raise your metabolism and the weight comes off and stays off
I make myself watch this and it helps me to not put on weight. After i had my heart surgery i lost the weight i put on before i had surgery. It got me back on track

What motivation would there be to get healthy & get a job when you don’t need to be productive in society?

It's not the government. Disability payments are pitiful. Food stamps have all sorts of restrictions on what you can use them for. Notice how none of them live alone? They eat the entire household budget.

My sister is in Ozempic and she has already lost 37 lbs. She is 71 years old and about 125lbs overweight, does not exercise at all, eats snacks constantly and still lost 37lbs. That stuff works. They have a couple new shots out that they say work even better. This may be a good option???
I've lost 22 lbs (282 to 260) but like your sister, I do love snacks, so I'm guessing my weight loss would be more if I actually exercised and dropped the snacks. I have really cut down on Dr. Peppers and that has helped. Plus smaller portion sizes. My doctor talked to me about another medicine, but while my weight loss has been slow, it has been steady, so for the moment we'll stick with Ozempic. My blood sugar is perfect and recently my blood pressure has taken a major drop.

I went from my highest 305 to now 250. All I did was change what I ate and walk 2 miles daily. And I dont have an enabler.
i cut my carbs and walked 2 hours a day during the week and im a 5 11 male and i had weighed 285 and iam now 198lbs
