Has LeBron James cemented himself as the greatest player ever?
Slow day at the office, huh?
no. next question
If he hits 40k, 10k, 10k and gets another ring ... YES !!!!!
"Im on the team...i was on the team"...Never heard of him!😂
yes
Nick Wright has a Lebron Vibrator

Kobe in the discussion is laughable????? Bro people that played against and with Kobe have repeatedly said kobe over lebron that’s what should matter, not the opinions of nick wrong 😪

Kobe vs lebron... who threw more bricks? End of story.

Lebron on those years that he went to the finals, competed in the Eastern Conference, the Western Conf. teams are at another level.
Players always pick Kobe

Its jealousy
Forgem Nos u right
And hall of famers pick Lebron.
which is why they always say kobe is better because of "skill" which is a really poor arguement

smush parker
kobe bryant
luke walton
lamar odom
kwame brown
the fact they even won 3 games is a testament to kobe
Thank you

Thank you again 😊
@@joshloach9016 What you said....
@@joshloach9016 Nick Wrong never brings that up about LeChoke playing in the pathetic and sorry Eastern Conference for the majority of his career!
Nick doesn't understand that Jim is trying to say people aren't afraid of Lebron like they were Kobe and MJ. It was a different animal when you faced those guys. The intensity was different.
Exactly... because Kobe and MJ weren't afraid of ANYONE... win or lose they did it their way... they didn't give the ball to anyone else on the last shot... Kobe was a LEADER... Lebron is just a dude that demands everyone to play EXACTLY as he says and do whatever he wants... Kevin Love was reduced to a corner 3pt shooting role player for god's sake... Chris Bosh was reduced to a catch and shoot player too with Lebron... he never let his teammates really play...
Also, if Lebron went up against a prime Kobe in finals he would be TRASHED... big time... after Kobe hit 2-3 shots in his faced and started the trash talking, Lebron would be shaking in his shoes...
@@sportschool3537 Kobe is a leader lmfao you sound dumb af... How many players he ran out of L.A. or tried to have?? Shaq, Bynum, Dwight.. Not to mention he was allergic to passing the ball... @@bornind.c.in8881 pretty good when you're being double teamed most of the time and guarded by the best guard of the opposing team whose assignment is to stop kobe meaning just play intense defense barely any offense.
@@bornind.c.in8881 at least Kobe can play offball. Lebron becomes a liability when he doesn't have the ball. Lebron doesn't intimidate his opponents, I still remember that last minutes against Dallas when he was open for a three point shot but instead pass it inside to Bosh who were closely guard and it ended up in a turnover. If only Lebron had MJ's mentality then he might be the GOAT, but now, not even close to MJ.

@@randumo24 No, Kobe was always seen as an inspiring figure way before he passed
Let’s be real after the Denver situation Kobe lost out on 2 MVPs I’ll admit as a fan of both

That is absolutely correct!!!
The nba didn’t want that on their record just bcus of allegations

Endo Kenzo he just hates MJ. And if MJ is thought to be the great then you have to compare Kobe to him, this he has to chose lebron
Peeka Bow You write as if you failed college, too.
because they know kobe far better than numbers say
People just listen to Nick Wright instead of taking context into account. The year the Lakers missed the playoffs, Kobe played only 66 games but averaged 28 pts, 6 rebs, and 6 asts. The second leading scorer was Odom who averaged 15 pts, but only played 64 games. The next year, Kobe averaged 35 pts, 5 rebs, and 5 asts and led the Lakers to 45 wins in a conference with TWO 60 win teams. If Anthony Davis, Westbrook, or Lillard averaged these numbers and were the 7th seed, everyone would say they have no help and consider them for MVP. People keep saying LeBron never lost in the first round in that time period, but he had home court advantage with his team ONLY having 50 wins or less because he plays in the EAST. Kobe was the seventh seed because the West was and is too stacked for one player to lead a team to get a top 4 seed.
Also, Nick Wright keeps saying Kobe blew a 3-1 lead. People keep forgetting that the Lakers were the 7th seed that year. Yes, the 7th seed. They led the 2nd seeded Suns 3-1 thanks to Kobe averaging 28, 5, and 6 and Amare being out till game 5. However, when Amare, one of the best players in the league, came back, the Lakers had no shot. The thing that angered me the most is when Nick Wright said Kobe was only the best player for ONE YEAR. If that is so, how come Kobe was the highest rated player for SIX nba 2k games? How come he made THREE straight finals in the WEST and won TWO and won TWO Finals MVPS? How come he averaged 27.8, 5, and 5 from 2001-2013? How come he was voted FIRST TEAM ALL-DEFENSE 9 times in that span? How come he was the highest paid player in basketball? How come he averaged 32, 7, and 6 against the Magic in the Finals, the team that beat LeBron in the ECF?
Just face it. Statistically speaking LeBron is the better player. For the culture of basketball Kobe had a huge impact and following. But Kobe will never be up there with the Mount Rushmore of basketball, even if he could drive and force a fade away over five defenders lol. Quite simple, Kobe patterned his game after another all timer, who was better than he was. That alone renounces him as all time great. He's not even the best alive at his own position or his franchise. He's among the greats definitely, but I wouldn't even put him over Jerry West and they played in two different eras for the same franchise.
Cris Law#JurassicPark#VelociRAPTORS#FINALSBOUND. I'm not even talking stats. I'm using the eyeball test and he still isn't good enough amongst his Laker peers regardless of eras. Defense is a overrated achievement. Nobody plays real defense til the playoffs start.
Stats may seem “inflated” due to the fact that the league is more talented than passed eras
Context matters yes
Shelton Harris Kareem is the only laker that is both statistically and achievement-wise better than Kobe Bryant, every other laker great is not. I challenge you to present me with BOTH stats and accolades to prove it. Statistically speaking, Lebron is the best player we have seen. I will give you that. Statistically speaking Peyton Manning is the best at his respective sport.....doesn’t necessarily make him the greatest QB of all time. Fact of the matter is this....numbers are important but they aren’t everything.
Did that talking nose just say Kobe being in the GOAT 🐐 conversation is laughable?!

@One Lebron isnt tho. I do like Lebron but I wil never put Lebron over kobe and dont use stats cause stats dont tell you everything.
I'm gonna take Kobe with everything on the line in the finals. Everytime I've watched Lebron in the finals against the shot clock he'll take the ball ,but it looked like he really didn't want that responsibility. Jordan is goat.
Jordan and kobe are on a league of their own and what sets them both apart from lebron is they have both won all defensive team.. lebron has never ever won that.. and that's why he won't make the playoffs this year also... because he has no d!!
People always talk 2 way players and forget Kobe was all nba defense 12 times,9 first team 3 second team. LeBron 6.
Kenneth Head They handed Kobe those awards towards the end of his career. He was horrendous defensively for a couple of those awards and they still gave it to him. Over a guy like Tony Allen who was in his prime defensively.
But numbers don't matter, huh?
Heisenberg-SchrodingerEmc2 Kobe didn't deserve his last all defense team awards that late into his career. Same way LeBron doesn't deserve them at this point in his career. Simple as that.
Go ahead and sit there with a straight face and say he deserved his 2010/2011/2012 All defense award over Tony Allen....
tony tonyt almost don't count
Kobe defense was a little overrwted even phil jackson said so
Kobe is the far more dangerous scorer, and Lebron has benefited greatly from playing in an era lacking in dominant defensive big men. Let me explain.
Think of the teams Lebron had trouble winning against: Pistons with Ben Wallace, Spurs with Duncan, Magic with Dwight Howard, Mavericks with Tyson Chandler, Warriors with Andrew Bogut. All of these big men were defensive minded, clog the paint players. That means it's hard to score in the paint against them, and therefore you need a midrange or 3 point game as a scorer. The reason Lebron's overall FG% is so high is because most of his shots come at 0-3 feet. In the midrange, he is worse than Kobe at every distance:
3-10 feet: Lebron 42.4%, Kobe 44.8%
10-16 feet: Lebron 36.7%, Kobe 43.9%
16 ft
All true but few have SEEN the game enough to go this deep..Through no fault of his own Lebron happens to play in a league that plays exactly to his strengths - a master of rim running and drive/kick in a league with weak/late rim protection as a rule, maximum spacing and replete with decent 3 pt. shooters that his front offices have wisely surrounded him with. At the same time he provided the perfect poster child to the bball analytics movement who tend to favor "production" in a vacuum and shoo other context (even winning) away as mere sentimentality or confirmation bias. Lebron's branding team and the media have been symbiotic, legitimizing each other to the point that he's just about won the propaganda war not just against Kobe but MJ himself, at least among some demographics that probably constitute a large plurality at this point.
I always say this 🤣. He even had problems with Mcgee
Hold up there's no way Kobe shot 40% from 3 for his career

John B I will give you 2004 to 2008
Shaq was still better then Kobe in 2004 (as was Duncan).
2009 is the year Lebron surpassed him and never looked back.
Kobe was arguably the best over that 4 year span. His team missed the playoffs one year and got bounced in the first round twice.
Garnett and Duncan make good argumants in that time span as well...
If you are one of those people who consider Kobe better then Lebron in 09 and 10 because of Lebron's lack of playoff success, then Kobe has no argument from 04 to 08 due to his lack of playoff success.

@Dat Jr. down playing the western conference as being tough.. Well you clearly have no knowledge.. Even the Mavs at that point were better than half the East playoff teams. Your comment is laughable
Yeah and that was the year that the "big three" in Miami lost to them in the finals.
To win 5 championships in the western conference is something truly amazing. Western conference is tough, really tough, and kobe still accomplished all that in the west, something Jordan or Lebron couldn't possibly imagine. So in who's the greatest, Kobe certainly deserves to be mention in that conversation, it's a crime not mentioning him in those debates. Jordan of course had more competition in the east than Lebron had. So, getting to the finals every year in the east is a walk in the park, we'll see if LBJ can still get to the finals this year in the west. Now, he has to overcome the Warriors.

kobeb365 its all about narrative man I'm telling u
Go look at what LeBron took to the '07 finals, I'll wait.
You might want to go look at the '07 roster. You're trying to put together a composite roster of the best Cavs players from the pre LeBron Heat days. Mo Williams was not there yet, and Drew Gooden was not that good. It was not a good team around him at all. There's a good reason why the roster the next year looked a lot different.

herogibson when the man magic puts Kobe over him self then Kobe is better. Kobe is number 4 on my list
This is my first time seeing nick...and will be the last. Wow.
He is quite terrible.
Yet here we are
Why so? He gets cut while trying to argue and he actually had good points. Sure players know what players are great and I think their point of view should be taken into account as well for MVP conversations, but
1. you cannot say one player is better than another only based on how it feels to play them (intangible, not hard facts to back it up) and saying Kobe is better because he doesn't leave off the hook is not enough to justify it
2. Different players have different opinions (not all players say Kobe is the best!)
3. Sure the guy played MJ, Kobe and LeBron, but he played MJ when he wasn't the best version of MJ anymore, Played LeBron when LeBron was not yet at his best and played Kobe at his best. If you play someone at his pick and not the others, you can't say he is the best cause that's how I felt when you played them can't you?
To me, both had good points, but overall Nick understood the good points of the other player but he is right saying "feeling it" is not enough to define who is the best
@@brunopinard1825 the reason why he can say that is because Nick himself is biased look how he addressed Kobe Bryant it's not the best shooting guard of all time no less than number two he regarded Kobe Bryant as that other guy just think about that for a minute that's why people like Nick wright or AKA Nick wrong gets no respect because he's obviously biased and Jim Jackson has a point LeBron James is what we call a frontrunner if it's not made easy for him he's not trying to do it he takes all the credit when things are good and he throws his team under the bus when things are bad and a lot of NBA players have said it's about LeBron I've met the guy it's not a nice guy and as a basketball player to be honest he quite selfish
There’s a reason why almost every former and current player all still pick Kobe over Lebron. Almost every guy that actually played basketball pick Kobe while all the stat nerds that probably never played past middle school pick Lebron. I’ve heard a lot of players with the same opinion as jim Jackson
Saeed Villanueva The reason why former NBA players like kobe is because he reminds them of MJ. That's it
Saeed Villanueva yeah and a lot of legends pick LeBron over Kobe it's all opinion
That's really not correct. Cause although you might not feel the same level of competition from LeBron, I can't find ANY player who can guard him for at least 3 games and nullify his efficiency.
Players (past and present) simply respect scoring above everything else. They respect guys like Kobe and Harden because they're hard to defend. If I'm guarding Lebron and he's making pinpoint passes to teammates for easy points I'm probably thinking meh, he's letting me off the hook. Much easier to guard than Kobe who you know is gonna be taking 30+ shots from everywhere on the court (whether he's making or missing).
Saeed Villanueva magic Johnson said lebron is the best player since Jordan. This guy, you, me, and magic Johnson can only give opinions. You talking like you stating facts just because you like kobe over lebron and a video agreeing with you made you feel correct. It’s no right answer
Kobe is hated by the media and especially ESPN haha
Dingdong Basa why does espn and media hate kobe so much..its ridiculous
He's a cold competitor and soft PC people don't like that,so the NBA push soft crybaby leflop James on people because his nice guy image ,is marketable to soft PC white people

but this is fox
Dingdong Basa Yeah he's so hated that they gave him his own TV segment
Wouldn’t a player who actually played in the NBA have a better insight than a analyst who’s never played a professional sport?🤔

Ancient Ruins Official thats the thing kobe dont pass kobe got swept by mavs in playoffs same year pebron lost kobe took so many shots to get 81 points 😂😂 you know if lebron get 81 points people will say he did it to stat pad but lebron always pass the ball but when he do its a problem
Kobe had shaq , nash , howard , bynum , gasol , fisher , odom , mettapeace
Lebron had kyrie , wade , bosh , allen , love
But lebron need superteams to win ? 😂
Dat Jr. Kobe 5rings👑👑👑👑👑👑😎
Lebron 3 and 6 NBA finals loses😂😂😂
Ancient Ruins Official when you say lebron 3-6 it make kobe look more trash since lebron aways rated better
Dat Jr. First of all let's get something straight neither LeBron James nor Kobe Bryant could ever look like thrash both players are top five greatest players of all time.
Dat Jr. It's my opinion that a player with only three championships and 6 NBA Finals losses is not and could never be the greatest player of all time
He has an argument though. People who played basketball and watched Kobe or MJ or played against them know the deal. They were both incredible defenders most of their careers, Kobe's jumpshot was perfection and he had the greatest footwork I've ever seen to this day. The writers and sports talk people will never revere him as highly as other guys because they care about off the court and personalities and also only look at stats. MJ and Kobe were both way better than even what their stats might tell you. Lebron is great, but as far as straight basketball skills are concerned, MJ and Kobe were on a completely different level. If I was training a young kid to play basketball and build his skillset, I would tell him to watch MJ and Kobe instead of Lebron. Lebron's size/strength allows him to accomplish more on the court, while the other guys didn't have that advantage so they had to be more skilled to compensate.
Kobe's jumpshot was so perfect that he shot 40% from the field.
OfficialRelyseMusic exactly I've been saying this for years.... Good to see someone else knows basketball.... Instead of just regergitating what they heard the media says.
OfficialRelyseMusic... i don't get it... everybody says that LeBron wouldn't have a chance in jordans era... more physical and stuff like that.... but he has a advantage in especially that point... so why wouldn't lebron dominate the jordan era?
Not to mention the fact the way players used to stop MJ scoring in the 90s is now a flagrant foul.
Can you imagine MJ's stats if he was playing with todays rules..
Cletus Spuckler aha... but if i do that u have to be implementing the baby refs... so jordan would be kicked out of every 3rd match bc of his trash talkin

Kobe contributed more to his rings than Kareem did
FACTS 💯
@@travisblair3189 In Kareem’s last two rings in 87 & 88, Kareem was just a role player, not even an all star and no where close to a superstar. Kareem averaged 17 & 6 boards in the 87 regular season and 19 & 7 in 87 playoffs. In the 88 regular season Kareem averaged 14 & 6 in the regular season and 14 & 5 in the 88 playoffs.
Compare that to Kobe’s last two rings which are much better. In 09 regular season Kobe averaged 27, 5 & 5 and 30, 6 & 6 in the 09 playoffs. In the 2010 regular season Kobe averaged 27, 5 & 5 and 29, 6 & 5 in the playoffs
@@travisblair3189 For most of Kobe championship runs except for 2000, Kobe contributed more than Kareem. Kareem won a chip in the 70s where it was a weaker era with no dominant teams. Did research on Kareem & I heard in the 70s Kareem was getting outplayed by opposing centers in the playoffs like Bill Walton, Dave Cowens, Nate Thurmond and getting outplayed by a 35 year old Wilt.
Kareem had mediocre success in the playoffs after the 71 chip and at one point missed the playoffs 2 consecutive years in his prime but somehow won an MVP in one of those years SMH.
Then Kareem got saved by Magic in 1980 where the team became Magic’s team after he won the 80 Finals MVP replacing an injured Kareem playing C, it was a wrap after that. Just like Kobe with Shaq, Kareem was the second option to Magic with Magic being the main option. Magic was the best player & leader of those Showtime Lakers. Somehow the narrative of Kareem of not being the best player on his team doesn’t affect his legacy the same way as Kobe with Shaq.
Even with Kobe winning 2 consecutive chips with Gasol he still gets discredited. There’s a double standard with Kobe. Every all time great gets their credit for what they contributed except for Kobe

Take the emotion out of it. For 7,8 years it was Shaq. No argument. For 2-3 years MAX you could say it was Kobe over Bron, but Bron eclipsed him pretty quick. And as we all know Kobe was washed for the last 5 years. So yea. Kobe was unquestioned best player for no more than 3 years, MAYBE 4. Bron is going on 10 years unquestioned and plus 2 or 3 debatable
In my opinion, Kobe was the best player in the NBA from 2003 to 2011; in the early 2000's Shaq even said it himself that Kobe was the best player in the league.

Kobe was the best player in the league for one year?! Nick just sunk to a new low after that comment. From about 2002-2012 Kobe was the most feared player in the league, easily.
A.I. was more feared than Kobe. Shaq was more feared than Kobe. It was actually Shaq who should've won the MVP the year Nash won it.
AI was definitely not more feared than Kobe. Notice I said from 2002, maybe you have small case before that. who is nick? Is he the guy that said the 1st guy is MJ?
finisher3x there's not a player or coach that picks LeBron over Kobe if you want to win championships. There's a lot of factors that play a part in why Kobe statistics fall short. And he got robbed on four different occasions four MVPs in the regular season. Can't take anything away from LeBron he's a beast but he's not a Kobe he's not a Jordan and he never will be
Jeremy Obese Of course he's not Kobe, LeBron's better than Kobe lok
Apex Predator get every player and Coach picks Kobe over LeBron to win championships. LeBron's a better all-around player there's no question about that but as a single player Kobe blows them out of the water. There's a few different factors that play and why Kobe stats are lower by the way but LeBron is a beast can't take that from him
Tell em' J.J.! Kobe was a BEAST. As great as his numbers were, they actually would've been even better, had he not been held back his first couple seasons, and forced to share so much of the offensive load with Shaq. As far as raw ability and competitiveness, Kobe's definitely on par with MJ. MJ knows this, and has admitted this.

Ok wait. Nick said Kobe was the best player for one year? He was the best player in the world from 2005 until 2010. He took trash LA team to the playoffs and win 3 games against great Suns team. If they won that series (and they were 5 seconds away before Thomas three in game 6) that would be one of the biggest upsets in NBA history. Just to name some players on that team: Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, Brian Cook, Ronny Turiaf, Von Wafer, Luke Walton, Chris Mihm, Devean George, Slava Medvedenko, Laron Profit,... without Kobe they would won maximum of 15 games. Only good player was Lamar Odom. He averaged 35+points with 62 pts in 3 qtrs, 81 pts and 4 consecutive 50pts games. One of the greatest seasons of all time. He never had more than 1 all star on his team. And when he get Pau they went to the finals 3 times and won 2 times. On the other hand Lebron had Bosh and Wade and than Irving and Love. He had amazing games in Detroit series in ECF in 2007 but than get swept against Spurs in the finals when he choked just like in 2011 versus Mavs. It is not just about stats, like Jim said. Nick Wright gets so personal and emotional when debating about LeBron lmao
Coz he is inlove with lebron hahaha
How is Nick ignoring the fact that Kobe had to compete against better, stronger teams in the Western conference. Whereas LeBron has always been favorite against weaker Eastern conference teams. It is no wonder the All Star Game is now the way that it is because it was clear to see how dominant the Western conference was. Kobe beat the team that beat LeBron, the Celtics, otherwise they would’ve faced each other and without a doubt, the fact that Kobe is so much more competitive, LeBron would’ve lost yet another Final. I take Kobe over LeBron simply because Kobe is all about hard work. Both Great Legendary players, but Kobe made basketball so much fun to watch.
Joey Leon you should tell Lebron that Kobe works harder than him and see his response. All these athletes work extremely hard to fine tune their bodies and minds for their craft.
LeBron couldnt even get past the Dwight Howard magic when the Cavs had the best record in the league. That same magic team got swept by Kobe in the finals
And got Swept
Joey Leon exactly first off I don’t like to use “best player ever” unless the world is going to end tomorrow, we don’t know who will come someday to this world and be even better than all of these players today so there is no such thing as ever saying that ... I was make this argument IF LeBron was in the western conference how many titles would he have or how many finals would he have made? Or would he have those stats
Then the LeBron lovers bring up stats
Ok let’s bring up stats... then Kareem is the best over LeBron over Michael Jordan then they say well LeBron is a freak of nature ... why??! If he is a freak of nature why has he lost all those finals? What about Kareem being a freak of nature , no one ever has had the shot he has the “sky hook”that was an unstoppable shot
One last thing if they really want to say best basketball player ever
Basketball doesn’t start in the NBA
It starts in collage who had better collage numbers? Who chanced the game in collage?... Kareem!
oh LeBron didn’t go LeBron didn’t play collage basketball?.. ok so don’t say best basketball player say best NBA player ...

Exactly !!
The fact people used the Suns series against Kobe without providing context was always crazy. Kobe took Luke, Smush and Kwame to 7 games against the 1 seed, Nick's acting like they were favorites to win or something. It's actually one of his great accomplishments to even make that a series!
The fact that he was in his prime and the were in the 8th seed is already telling of the lower impact of him winning games for his team than other greats.
@@randumo24 Really? Kwame Brown, Smush Parker, Chris Mihm, Brian Cook, Devin Green, Ronny Turiaf, Luke Walton etc., all he had was Odom lol. That's possibly the worst Lakers team to ever make the playoffs.
@@rell_5000 Yes well that doesn't mean you shouldn't be better than 8th seed when you're supposedly the best player in the world in your prime.
For reference, LeBron won games off of the 2015 67 win Warriors when the 2nd best player on that roster at the time was likely fkn Mathew Dellavedova. LeBron was so dominant in his prime that both the 2014 & 2015 Finals MVPs were basically given to the players who guarded him the best on the other team lol.
@@randumo24 So you're saying Dellavedova, who actually had a decent NBA career, is worse than Smush Parker? He did a helluva job on Steph early in that series. He held him scoreless when he was guarding him in one game ffs. The Cavs started losing that series after he had to go to the hospital for dehydration. That team as a whole was vastly better and deeper than that Lakers team Kobe dragged to the playoffs. It's not even close.
@@rell_5000 Lol, really just sounds like you're a Kobe fanboy here. You're acting as if getting a team to the 8th seed & losing in the first round is a major accomplishment.
Also, no Dellavedova is not a good player, especially as a 2nd best he's god awful. His career average is 5.5 ppg on 38 FG%. In that season, he averaged 4.8 ppg on 36% lol.
Btw, for your so called deep 2015 Cavs team, it's clear you're just a Kobe fanboy who has no idea what they're talking about. Please tell me what about this rotation around LeBron screams help: Dellavedova, Shumpert, Tristan Thompson, Mozgov, James Jones, JR Smith, & Mike Miller.
That was his help in those NBA Finals that he managed to win 2 games against a 67 win team against. What LeBron did with the 2018 Cavs team on a whole is a carry job far beyond what Kobe was ever capable of too.

I don't know - I thought he was just side-stepping every question and not answering it properly and just kept trying to say that he was a player to try and disqualify Nick's arguments.
Nick is one of the most annoying human beings to ever exist but Jim Jackson was just becoming so defensive when asked about Kobe and how he was down 3-1 - just admit that he did let the other team off the hook. Why was that so hard for him? He's let the other team off the hook countless other times when he's had shocking shooting performances as well so it just seemed like Jim Jackson was being biased tbf.
Jim Jackson here is not being biased he is trying to portray to Nick that his view isnt the only correct view as Nick is a sport journalist all they believe is in the moment and what they believe is the only correct option your clearly bias yourself if you believe this
killydaman No they're both clearly being biased - didn't you see how defensive Jim was getting and not answering or admitting clearly that Kobe did let the other team off the hook multiple times - Jim knew he was wrong and still didn't admit it which is obviously bias - I'm not sure how u can see it another way. I don't know how comparing the titles and mvps matter at all either as if he was trying to say that 1 mvp and 5 titles is at all comparable to Jordan kareem or LeBron and its funny how he tried to use stats to back up what he was saying whilst saying that stats aren't the only way to see it.
Jim can't articulate exactly what he saying but he's got a point nick just a kobe hater
@Topinka Hatt thats all he needed ill take his word other than some nerd who reads off some stats
@Topinka Hatt yes it does hes telling you what hes seen with his own eyes i feel like you lebron james fans just want people to read off some numbers instead of just watching games
All I understood was: '' From a player perspective''.
www.landofbasketball.com/games_between/kobe_bryant_vs_lebron_james.htm thank good we have history.
Jimmy is just telling the truth. That little guy has no idea what he is talking about. Jimmy played ball in the NBA and the little guy never touched a basketball in his life.
Here is some history, starting with this question... In 1986, was Michael Jordan NOT the best player in the league? He average 37 points a game and he was NOT selected as the League MVP. His team was eliminated in the first round by the Celtics. This scenario justifies Jim Jackson's point... Magic Johnson was the league MVP that year and he actually won the NBA Finals to boot! So it's a matter of perspective. LeBron James has NEVER lost in the first round of the playoffs. Michael Jordan lost in the first round THREE times. It's a matter of timing, it's a matter of perspective, it's a matter of good teammates, coaches, etc... No one can put a solidified claim on GOAT because all of these variables play into it... Love them or hate them... Bernard King, Allen Iverson, Tracey McGrady, and Charles Barkley never won a Championship but is their greatness not solidified? We need to enjoy watching these players play while we can... Once they leave we're going to miss them!
D. R. well said bro. IMO these players were to play and not to be argued about. we need to just appreciate their greatness coz they have their own uniqueness and play styles.
D. R. 🙌🏽🙌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
@D. R.... Well said!!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼👍🏼👊🏼
D. R. I’m not gonna miss lebron or kd... and the join your best friends to win rings mentality. I’m not going to miss lebron trying to make the entire league be buddy buddy... I’m not going to miss KD trading on his team to an enemy team to get rings. Hop off their junk and realize that these players get wayyyy overhyped. Lebron especially!!! How you gonna compete in the eastern conference for the majority of your career and face losing record teams in the playoffs- and act like you’re the greatest for getting runner up every year? Playing in an extremely weak conference, racking up stats, combining all stars in a weak conference... get that out of the league now. I’m sick of you guys giving players like lebron and KD a pass for all the stupidity they’ve brought on the league
It’s weird he won’t let Nick talk and ignores the questions….
Glad to know perception isn’t necessarily reality 💯
"The team with the best player in the world didn't get past the first round. That's an anomaly"
Hi... I'm from the future and LeBron didn't even make the playoffs in 2019.
ahaha
He only played 55 games
@@cham807 so what when he came back his team was still in contention and they lost a bunch of games and Lebron wasnt great.
@@rebornmotorsports1513
There was no point, he would've been 8th seed and had to play warriors in the first round
@@cham807 I thought he never gives up? Now that he has a superteam and if he wins he's the GOAT.... Pleaseeeee
I just don't understand how someone who has a losing record in the Finals can be in the conversation for the Greatest of All Time.
wenwenni2 because it’s simply not about rings. Barkley is one of the 40 greatest players ever.....zero rings. Rings are just there for fans to argue their side lol. Kareem was the greatest force to play but he doesn’t get the love he deserves
The same way jerry west is the logo with a losing record over bill Russell.
Or considering MJ goat despite Kareem having mor accomplishmemts beat more talent or bill Russell with more wins.
People change things
It's so frustrating to watch someone clearly more qualified to discuss how good a player was and explain how it's a nuanced conversations that should have a lot of names in it because of the eras and peoples biases and just not hear it over the screaming of his own priveledge.
Prime Kobe vs prime LeBron in a 1v1 game... Kobe hands down would win.
R R
LeBron 6'8 and 260 lbs with guard speed and power forward size 1v1 would beat Kobe Bryant 6'6 and 205 lbs
No one player can stop LeBron James from getting to rim without any players on floor to close drive lanes out not even Kobe can 🖒
R R you don't play basketball obviously
Idk but actually yay as a invidisional player hes better
D Prince Masters it's difficult to give up over 30 lbs on a guy and still lock him down. The only reason i give Kobe a chance is due to his score first mentality vs Lebron's makes the best play mentality
See Jim's point about Kobe not letting up: Kobe has twelve All Defensive selections on his resume. LeBron has five. LeBron ain't facing off against a layup line when Kobe's in front of him. And on the other end, he'd be working against the third leading scorer of all time.
To quote the GOAT: Five beats three.
Kobe was clearly the best player in the league for most of the 2000's and deep down whether you like him or not everyone knows it
wrong. shaq was better than him from 00-04 when he left. lebron and kobe started becoming a debate in 06. In 07, lebron passed kobe
No sir, Shaq said it himself in 2001: "When you got the best player in the world on your team (referring to Kobe) it makes winning a lot easier. And it's funny, every time Lebron was asked about Kobe from the time he got in the league during that era (2003-2010) he said numerous times that Kobe is the best player in the league........Which was a FACT! Everyone knew it
mister money I would give a thousand thumbs up for your comment.
Every Kobe hater suddenly developed a deeper ostrich syndrome since Shaq's revelation
Tim Duncan
mister money Shaq also said that about D Wade in 06. Is everything he says the truth ? If you’re a Kobe fan i suggest you don’t try and answer that question
Basically a bro vs a keyboard analyst, Ill take the bro opinion. Nick is a groupie
The fact you said Kobe amongst the 3 is laughable.... Everything that comes out of your mouth from that point on doesnt matter
Bro the Media just Mad At Kobe For The Way He Treated Them Throughout His Career.....Same Exact Thing Is Going To Happen To Westbrook
Nick gets humiliated in every minute of this segment. I love it.
Kuya Well love it! 👌🏻
Kuya Well I hate nick but he won this debate no question. JJ just talked over him when he made a good point
@@colecounts5401 Not really. Players from the NBA should always have their opinions valued higher than someone who couldn't lace up their basketball shoes. Jim Jackson is just one player. I could go find 50 videos of NBA players saying Kobe is the best they've ever faced(even over lebron). Now don't get my words twisted. That's not an attempt to say its factual. But, that was never Jim's point. His entire point was... Players evaluate Other players differently than Fans/Media. They hate the disrespect they see for their fellow competitors from people who've never competed at the highest level.
Basically saying - Don't put so much stock into Nick Wright..when he couldn't even compete at a collegiate level.
James Diesel exactly. How are reporters and writers opinions more valuable than the players who played? It’s quite disrespectful.
@Colonel Gibbs of course Nick was humiliated! It was the best section ever😂👌🔥🔥🔥
Nick Wright is so disrespectful.
With Kobe, they give him a pass for everything. He was so great and inspirational, a generational talent. And it's how it's supposed to be, ain't nothing wrong with that. Appreciate greatness.
The problem is with Lebron, they scrutinize and nitpick him so bad and so often that he almost can't do any good. He is simply under appreciated. If he loses, no context required, no matter what he did, an L is an L. If he wins, he is still not admired, people will say: "Ok, but...".
As for their comparison, the "eye test" can be a factor but you also have to provide evidence by giving numbers that justify your statement. The thing is, no number-based basketball category verifies that Kobe was the better player. None. Zero. Nothing that is tangible.
Kobe had a higher prime than LeBron
Kobe shoots better from 80% of the floor than LeBron
@@kendallthomas6807 This is part of the reason why people tend to give the edge to Kobe. This has been a strong narrative for too long in the mainstream media that people don't even try to investigate in order to get any kind of justification for this statement.
In reality, Lebron's scoring and shooting numbers outweigh Kobe's by a pretty wide margin. In terms of productivity, longevity, consistency, and efficiency, Lebron is second to none.
Kobe's most efficient shooting season (46,9%) is worse than 18 of Lebron's 19 seasons (his rookie season being the only one (41,7%) which is lower)
True Shooting, Effective FG%, 3 PT%, all the same. Lebron beats him pretty bad in every category. More so in the playoffs.
This is just shooting that I'm dissecting.
SCORING? Similarly false narrative
Kobe had basically 2 regular seasons (2005-06 & 2006-07) when he went berserk and put up historically great numbers and set records. But in terms of their entire career, postseason, and the Finals, statistically, Kobe was not a better scorer.
Kobe was a Top 3 scorer (PPG) in the league in 8 of his 20 seasons, Lebron currently has 10 such seasons in 18 full years. In the postseason, Lebron could always turn up a notch, he has more 25+, 30+, and 40+ point career playoff games than Kobe.
NBA Finals? Kobe is in a different tier. Lebron has 22 30+ point games to Kobe's 13, and has 8 40+ point games to Kobe's 1. On a higher efficiency.
Kobe was a volume shooter, he had amazing regular-season numbers for a couple of years, but outside of that, there is really not much evidence to support his case. (Was a brilliant scorer, but wasn't better than Lebron, this is my conclusion)
He scored 1.28 Points / FGA in the regular season, Lebron scores 1.38.
He scored 1.25 Points / FGA in the postseason, Lebron scores 1.39.
If I were to break down their playmaking ability and advanced stats which evaluate a player's overall impact, the gap would be enormous.
@@balintrab3614 see y'all do this fg% and efg% blah blah blah
That means magic Johnson is a better shooter than Jordan if we go by those numbers...
I hate i cant screen shot these numbers but Kobe shoots better than LeBron from 3 to 23 feet of the court...the court is broken down from 3 to 10 feet 10 to 16 feet and 16 to 23 feet and Kobe shoots better than LeBron from all those distances
Kobe
3 -10 feet he shoots 43%
10 - 16 feet he shoots 43%
16 - 23 feet he shoots 40%
LeBron
3 -10 feet he shoots 41%
10 - 16 feet he shoots 36%
16 - 23 feet he shoots 38%
And in the playoffs kobe midrange shooting goes up and LeBrons go down...
Kobe
3 -10 feet he shoots 46%
10 - 16 feet he shoots 44%
16 - 23 feet he shoots 40%
LeBron
3 -10 feet he shoots 39%
10 - 16 feet he shoots 35%
16 - 23 feet he shoots 37%
This is with all the bad shots Kobe take in double teams he still shoots better than LeBron...
LeBron lack of shooting is whay he has loss at least 4 of his finals...
@@kendallthomas6807 Magic Johnson was never a scorer, he doesn't have the volume to qualify for such comparisons.
I completely agree that Kobe was a better and more reliable mid-range shooter but it doesn't make him a better let alone a more efficient scorer. Shot selection might have something to do with it. Lebron lives at the rim, that's a fact but he should not be discredited for that. He also shoots the 3 at a higher efficiency.
In 2007, he did struggle shooting the ball from outside 10 feet, but over the years, he has worked his tail off to become a solid shooter, when he needs to, he can knock it down from anywhere, and he doesn't take bad shots constantly as Kobe did.
@Pallani Kobe averaged 35ppg in. 2006.. The most lebron ever averaged was 31ppg
Kobe had a 10year stretch averaging 28.8ppg... That's higher than ANY 10year stretch that lebron had... Yes kobe had a higher prime
That’s the problem with sports today...MJ, T-Mac, Iverson, Jim Jackson, and other actual NBA players say Kobe is better than Lebron but all these stat-obsessed commentators and fans who don’t know anything about what it means to play at the professional level are Lebron groupies. I’ll take a professional’s opinion any day.
Myron Feltner, Jr. your so right .....who tf cares about stats.....John Stockton all time steals leader and assists. Olujawon all time blocks leader. See who nobody cares! Lol. Jordan changed the game and tbh....that’s the best thing he did. This man elevated the game of basketball! So he will always be goat. And Kobe is Better than Bron. Prime Kobe had no help wtf. He won 2 without Shaq
Nick wright should get fired.
Zen I second third and fourth that I idea.
And yet he’s over there, making money. And you are here, hating.
Zen truth.
...and making money.
I totally agree with Jim Jackson
“Losing in the first round with the best player in the world is an anomaly” - nick Wright...
Hmm 🤔 wonder what he says now
Lebron didn't even make it to the playoffs with a team that was projected to make it to the WCF in 2019 by most analysts. Then bounced out in 1st round in 2021. So much for the best player in the world.
@@rizahawke2059 And they're gonna reason out he's Old and Washed like WTF? he just got lazy with just a wrong play like a kid on the court if it was Kobe he'd be shouting at Kuzma to sit down and watch him do that game

Nick ready to be fired!!!!!! Kobe clearly the BEST in the world at least 5-7 years of his career. He his the most points scored ever by any guard in the history of the GAME.
KB 2x That was one game, I don’t agree that he was only the best for 1 year, but u cant use 1 game as ur evidence for 5 years
Jordan and Kobe were assassin's and both got 6 and 5 Championships. > LeBron Stat Padder
Henry King Kobe got his first 3 rings thanks to shack, who happened to be league mvp for one of those years and finals mvp for those 3 rings. When shack went to Miami, he won another ring. You tell me who was the better player. What did Kobe do? Lost in the 1 round as an 8 seed. Kobe is the least efficient player in the history of the league. The most shots taken and the most shots missed. If you give lebron the same amount of shots and he’ll give you 40 per night.
jonathanjimenez183 so Wade doesn't matter huh? Wade the third best SG ever, LeBron's side kick for four years, My Heat were favored to win a championship for four years and he only got two. LOL
Henry King wade was a rookie. You have to give credit to Kobe, he got 2 rings on his own, but you can’t compare him to lebron. You Kobe fans, all you remember is Kobe scoring the ball, nothing else. Like him scoring 60 points in his last game; the man shot 55 times to score 60, lebron took 31 shots and score 51 in game one of the finals. Lebron does what Kobe nor Jordan ever did and that is making mediocre players better. I saw Jordan play, the best ever without a doubt in my mind. I saw Kobe play, great player, but not at the level of lebron. The West wasn’t what it was today. The power shifted when shack went to the Lakers and it balanced out when shack went to Miami. Detroit, Celtics, Knicks, nets with kid and carter were legit along with Indiana and 76rs with overdone The west had the spurs, Phoenix, kings, Seattle and utah, although Karl Malone was old. Kobe kept making the playoff as an 8 seed. You can see what you want, but what lebron has done in the finals against the best teams in the history of the nba, the spurs and the warriors; shows how great he really is. Lebron will never be as good as mike, but he will be the closest. Kobe doesn’t belong in that same conversation. Remember one thing; me was 1-9 in the playoffs before he got pippen. he was the best player in the league, but until he got help, he couldn’t win a playoff series by himself. I don’t have to remind you what lebron has done in those same situations. A weaker legue? Yes, but to beat a Detroit Pistons team that has just won a title a few years back is not an easy feat to get to the finals. Think about this, Kobe was considere the best in an era that is considered to be the weakest era of the nba of all time. He still only managed one mvp. The point nick was trying to make was that all time greats had at least 3 of everything, mvp, rings, and 3 finals mvp. Kobe has only one league mvp, 2 rings on his own which he deserves all the credit in the world, 3 with shack, and 2 finals mvp. After lebron’s 4 mvp, they stop giving it to him. Everybody knows he’s the best player in the nba. The same happened with mj. That never happened to Kobe. He’s an all time great, but he’s not in the conversation with mj and lj. He just doesn’t. Don’t forget, the first year against the warriors in the finals; they were considering giving lebron the mvp even though he team lost the title. Think about that. Jordan never played a team as good as the worriors in the finals by the way. Stephen Jackson played against all 3 yes, but not against lebron in his prime. When nick brought up how Kobe choked in game 7 not even carter wanted to comment on it. Nick won the argument. As lebron did by the way against Dallas. Numbers do matter at the end of the day, it’s a numbers game, that’s what sports are about. My point is, lebron will never be better than Jordan, but Kobe is not better than lebron. Head to head lebron has beaten Kobe more than Kobe has beaten him. Lj has had better games than the other way around. It has taken Kobe 19 years to accumulate the stats he has and yet, lebron has had the better stats in year 15. That’s really why the compare LJ to Jordan. He’s numbers in year 15 are close to Jordan’s year 15. Kobe resume is not even close. It took him 18 to pass Jordan in points, the numbers in the finals, Kobe is not among the greatest, LJ and MJ are. Kobe just Not at the same level, not even in the conversation. by the way look at wade numbers when lebron was in Miami. Garbage! Lebron carry that team.
Henry King yaasss
Henry King the heat werent favored for 2014 lets not act like the big3 were injured
If we are going only by numbers, then Kobe has more 1st team all defense than Lebron has all total.
Yes, sir.
And lebron averages more points rebounds and assists and has more total all team nominations. As well as mvps and final mvps
He also has the most missed shots in nba history
