The best upgrade will be the new LN freehub body kit - this basically converts the 370 into a 350 with the star-ratchet system. We had a few XD kits but they sold out quickly and we don't have any more until later in the year. I don't know what US supply is like though. -Tristan
Is there a rider weight limit for 54t or 36t hubs? I have heard the higher tooth counts are more prone to slipping. Also, wish all the hubs had a neutral black color option. (The 180s look amazing but are fri4gging expensive and only for superlight riders.). My frame is kind of dark teal and everything else is black. 240s (or even the 350s are nice) but red hubs on a Teal Bike look like ass. Even 350s white detracts from the otherwise dark stealthy look.
We often hear that the 54t ratchets have issues with chipping but it's very rare to see. I think the extra engagement points are worth the small trade-off in durability ~Tristan
@@WheelworksHandcraftedWheels So awesome that you answer so detailed on so many questions. I already learned alot by just reading through you answers! Amazing stuff! :) Thanx
Yeah this is pretty normal as the grease in the freehub body thins out. The hub will coast faster and sound louder with use but cleaning and fitting fresh DT Swiss Special Grease will take it back to new -Tristan
mine is crazy about volume sound after the first ride - love it !
Looking at these or i9 hydra. Can you give me any pros or cons ?
is this the 54T ratchet?
No, this is the factory-fitted 36t
What upgrades can you make to C38 DT Swiss 370 hub?

Seems to slow down very very fast.... High mechanical drag in the exp design???
Hubs from factory are packed full of grease creating extra drag. After a day or two of 'breaking in' they roll great!
Can confirm, just got a wheelset with dt240 last week. It gets louder and spins easier now after 100+km
It doesn't spin for very long. Why is this?

@@WheelworksHandcraftedWheels after 3000 km, mine still slows down very fast.
New grease. The wheel also has no tyre on it. Rotational weight is the main thing that keeps a wheel spinning
Should not be holding freehub which mute the sound. My 240 ex on ex511 sounds much louder. Tks.
not at all how it works. its quiet because there is no cassette or tyre on the wheel
Mine can do 80
only 200km, sound change louder !
