- We're reviewing every Neo Geo game, and this time it's Burning Fight, 1991 from SNK. Let's also check out the prototype version. Special thanks to NeoTurfMasta!

It's not a true review of Burning Fight without the "Hobo Blojo" - Glad to see you included it!
In the grand Ring King tradition of classic in-game fellatio.
I'm a die hard Final Fight fanatic, but I had a lot of fun with Burning Fight in the arcades. It wasn't anywhere near as good as the Capcom game, but the graphics were decent and I thought the music was pretty cool. The gameplay could have been more refined, but for a quick 5 minute play it was fine.
A fantastic review and even tho i don’t necessarily agree with your review I rating of this game I rate you still, and love hearing your opinion on these old neo geo games. BURNING FIGHT is the dogs bollocks in my humble opinion. Peace out! From ENGLAND
Dogs bollocks... Interesting. Is that a compliment or a curse??
Thanks for starting these up a bit more often again. I actually do enjoy this game, it's cruel, but so was Final Fight in the day too. A little less polished, which to me is a bit off for SNK, but it's still a good B+ effort. Can't wait for League Bowling, a personal favorite going on 30 years.
I agree, Burning Fight is no FINAL FIGHT but, it's better than so many other beat em ups. DOUBLE DRAGON 3 for example.
I always love seeing a new episode come out. Keep up the great work!!
Regarding your remark about the end credits, the music composer for this game (Yamapy-1) is Yasumasa Yamada. He also worked on Riding Hero, 2020 Super Baseball, Robo Army, Samurai Shodown II and IV, King of Fighters 95 and 96, and others I can't remember off the top of my head right now.
Yeah. I don't know why I didn't talk about him in this one. It's just hard to remember to always hit everything in every video.

Another great Neo Geo review =D Looking forward to the next! Stay safe!
I never knew this game drew inspiration from Black Rain! That's one of my all time favorite movies ever! I wouldn't have ever known that if I didn't watch this review. I think I have a newfound appreciation for it now after discovering this, as I had always wondered what a game based on Black Rain would have looked like. Although I imagined it being a simple run and gun side scrolling platformer, and not a beat 'em up. ;)
I had been enjoying this series, but now that I have a Darksoft MVS cart, it's essential viewing.
Mr. Anderson is just a Hulk Hogan knock-off!
That was suppose to be Duke? I always thought that was Rock from Fatal Fury.
Very interesting video, I learned a lot!
I’ve hit the like button already lol
Great review, i didn't know about the proto cartdrige with "Bully" before Billy.
Can't wait for the next review.
I thought this series was dead! Good news it’s still going!
Everyone always thinks it's dead. It's not possible for me to release them at a rate that keeps everyone's attention.
Basement Brothers Well no matter what I appreciate you are still making these!
Super thorough review and can tell you got the passion for the Neo.
I got Burning Fight in early 95 for my AES. And yes it was no Final Fight.... at all. So i sold it pretty quick again after. Its amusing how expensive the cart is now.
Final Fight one attack button one special attack that drains your own life. Double Dragon, two attacl buttons and several special attacks that don't drain life.
Double Dragon>final fight.
We can call it "the poor man's Final Fight" today, but that's only because of hindsight and our critical eye.
For kids at the arcade in the 90s, it was just as good.
Uhhh are you JOKING? It was laughed at from day one. NO ONE with a brain thought it was just as good as Final Fight. What's wrong with you?
@@youtubesuresuckscock Based on how juvenile your response here is, I can tell you weren't there.
Shoo.
@@Conan_the_BasedI'm the only one around here who remembers what it was actually like.
"He tried to kill me with a forklift~ this is song of Rocky and Ken~ 🎵" I knew I liked you. ;p
I remember discovering this game in the arcade years after playing final fight. I knew it was a final fight ripp off but after palying it I liked it. Maybe it was the early SNK graphics that did it for me.
"No, not Billy Kane. It's not going to get that interesting"
*shows Billy King holding a staff just like Billy Kane*
I stand corrected. It's exactly as interesting.
I'm pretty sure it's always six shots max once you grab the gun... Am I wrong?
Great MST3K reference!
Got this on PS4 love it.
Tom Anderson looks like a classic Hulk Hogan. 🤣👌
13:00 I'm pretty sure that's not Duke in KoF 2002 (I always thought it was Rock Howard). Duke is actually in the updated version 2002 UM. He's on the second version of Neo Geo Land and he's standing in the booth on the far right of the stage.
What I stated in the video seems to be accepted by some online, but you may be right.
Decent beat em up, I like the Osaka setting.
Really enjoying the videos
Great stuff!!! I can't wait till you get into the real meat of the Neo Geo library!!
Glad you enjoyed it. I hope I can get to those games too.
You are on point sir! Great review.
"Damn copy machine!! " 😂
I would actually say Burning Fight is a better game than Final Fight: the latter is extremely repetitious and dull -a problem Capcom would never overcome in this genre. The problem with Burning Fight is, simply, that it's the kind of game you'd play through to the end once, two player, with your girlfriend, and then _never again._ That is a problem.
I wish we had a Burning Fight 2...
I disagree burning fight is just as good as final fight in my opinion.
Streets of rage 2 and Guardian heros are the kings of beat em ups.
Then close runner up would be Ninja Turtles Turtles in time.
Final fight has always been over rated for me. I'll go so far as to say it even gets boring after a bit.
Burning fight in that sense matches it perfectly.
MST3K reference! 🎉
Even at its time i found this game terrible, it's style over substance, compared to the beat em ups produced by Capcom, Konami and even Neo Geo's own beat em ups.
I Always have a soft spot for Burning Fight Alec. Many say it's just an average brawler that falls short to Final Fight and Streets of Rage. But it's an enjoyable game that really help introduced me to Japanese society style of living. The beginning stage with the shotengai shopping center attracted my attention. In stage 2, I never saw of went into an underground shopping center. The graphics were impressive for early 1990's tech and liked the music it had to offer. Also bro, they had a car that resembled the Honda Prelude that my uncle had growing up as well.
Nice work as always bro. Thank you for sharing this with us to enjoy. 8^)
Anthony..
Great job as always Alec
Still say Mutation Nation is the beast beat 'em up on the system. Sengoku sucks, Burning Fight sucks harder.
One of the most bland snk games
Not ver snk of them
Welcome back. How is your grandma doing?
Great review, was more interesting than the game. For it’s price go buy a megadrive and Bareknuckles 2. Neo geo had no decent side beat em ups. They should have did P.O.W 2

.... What did they think people would assume that was????
Yeah. He's supposed to be begging though. It's customary in Asian cultures to lower oneself (such as a bow) when requesting something. It's just unfortunate the way the sprites line up. I'm guessing in Japan the problem wasn't as noticeable.
"We're lucky that nothing was copied..."
That you KNOW of. Guarantee you it was ripped from something.
