this band was fookin' BANANAS it was my HUGE pleasure to have caught them live several times as a younger man in the Portland, ME Boston, MA area, circa mid-90s. had the treasure to meet Oteil Burbridge, once, briefly. dude struck me as an almost impossibly gracious spirit. gotta add: RIP Kofi. i f***ing LOVE this band. SO much.
I managed to see these guys in 1995 in Memphis on a COLD ASS night after missing them the previous year or two, when my buddy and I rode across town on my crappy motorcycle dodging black ice the entire way. I was rough, but BY GOD we were going to catch that fucking show!! It was so cold that my bike refused to start after the show and we nearly froze to death walking back home, but we didn't care because our faces were already melted and we were glowing from the energy of that band and how down to earth they were while chatting with them after the set. One of the best shows I've ever witnessed, hands down, and that's coming from someone who has worked as a stagehand for 30 years.Truly Phenomenal!!
@@madmaxfzz bless you sir for the kind reply -- and / but / also: riiiight?! holy crap, yo, *find* me a better mid-90s jam band than ARU.just f***ing TRY... ;)
I guess it's too much to ask for if they might be up to anything lately. I suppose I must have to face the fact that even this album came out 17 years ago. Good Lord, how did we get so old so fast? My buddy turned me on to these guys back in 1993-94. Had the privilege to see them play in '95. Amazing stuff...
I am a jazz fusion\progressive rock lover since I was 13 and I'm very thankful to listen to all these bands I've never heard before.Pure bliss and hipness.
Absolutely LOVE these guys. I've had the pleasure of seeing them at least 8 or nine times. They never cease to amaze. Now if they would only put out some more damned music.
Jimmy Herring is just a beast on the git fiddle, remind you of anyone?.....like maybe Steve Morse? kickass band that should get a lot more recognition except that they are one of those "project" type bands....would love to see them in concert.
Letterman should have these guys on... get them to play "Wouldn't That Be Nice"... These guys are monsters. Unique... the bass and guitars are off the hook crazy fantastic. They are all on spot fantastic though.... just saying... the vocals are great too!
The most underrated band in history. These guys smoke!

Hands trembling from the rush of the music, just missed the ^ button.
Long Live The Unit!
Uno dei gruppi più sottovalutati della musica dal 90 ad oggi
Wouldn't it be nice to have a music advisor tell me back in 2003 to listen to this? I won't be missing it any longer. Happy trails Bruce.

Awesome!! No more words...
This music is brilliant and timeless. Please comment if you'd like to see ARU get back together, cut an album, and tour.
I wish they would get back together. But the keyboardist/Floutist passed away.

porkbelly0713 They were never intended to be a project band, somehow it just worked out that way.
How many people know that Col Bruce was in the movie " Slingblade" ? His character name was Morris....
