As a huge early Santana fan I loved that Latin element in the band, and this lineup really sings🎸🔥
There are no Second Fiddles in this Band. Each one is a star.
@@gavriellev9959 And Duane, Berry and Dickey, who was the genius composer of this psychedelic masterpiece. Yes, great musos here, but we must always remember where this music originally came from.
I was at this show, up close. This is one of my favorite musical memories. Jimmy Herring absolutely killed it.
I don't think Jimmy gets the credit he's due as being perhaps one of the best in the world at his chosen craft!
If they let him up on stage with the allman brothers you’re a legend of your instrument
Jimmy should be playing with Dead and Company...its so natural a fit....but instead they've got John Meyer......I just don't get it !!!!! ?????????
@@davidscott1052 I mean......he is way better than Mayer....and it would be great.....but he would never leave JB and the boys.
Now Butch and Greg are gone. Still bummed about these losses when I think of it. Greg, like Garcia was an epic feature of my musical life. Life is short. Music helps us enjoy it while we're still here, filling precious moments of our existence with a little joy. "Rejoice rejoice, we have no choice but to carry on." I am very thankful for these postings on youtube. Be careful out there, take care of yourselves and your loved ones, and keep the good times comin and goin folks.
You never know when a moment is special until you look back on it. So enjoy the moment when it's happening and you'll cherish it more later.
I’m 68.. played in a lotta local bands… just about all of my bandmates have passed away… It’s cool..getting old.. having decades of experiences… But make sure you keep your friends with you…🥲👍🏼❤️
Hell of a performance! I almost felt bad for Warren for a minute or two there...almost...but he just calmly took it all in, then cut loose with some seriously scorching lead. Warren is never one to disappoint!
A lesser guitar player would have died trying to follow the first two. Spontaneous Ego Death as the result of a mind blowing jam-eurysm. His Rox screen came back positive, He had ingested four times the lethal limit of Tasty Licks and he was definitely under the Influence of experimental Analogues of Shred-amphetamines.
I feel bad for this poor hypothetical person i just thought up, he never stood a chance. If only i could have hypothetically thought up some hypothetical treatment that would have hypothetically improved his hypothetical existence
It looked like Trucks and Herring were freezing Haynes out, acting like he wasn’t even there.
How phenomenal. I can't imagine being this gifted. I just love the way Jimmy casually rips one off and after its all over..... Warren steps up.
my God...here I am on Christmas morning, an old man weeping at that incredible talent(and it once again dawned on me why, in '72 I decided to go to college and not try to earn a living playing the guitar)
If you got to see this band live be grateful, you were blessed. Shit even hearing this through some good speakers is a blessing. Eternal gratitude.
This is one of the absolute finest samplings of American music ever. What a spectacle of talent, Wow ! ! ! ! Thank you ABB & Jimmy.
i know I'm kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
Jimmy is one of the greatest guitar players of all time, the way he uses the half whole scale, is unique, killer technique to, never plays a cliche or a fluffed note, sensational sensational!
Jimmy Herring is a legend !!
Jimmy Herring's playing fits so perfectly with the Allman Brothers vibe.
another great DICKEY BETTS tune...he is the man ..the original...recognize it...
Ron Tillman in gregg's book,he mentioned that he forced the rest of the brothers to record this song perhaps 20 times; then used the 2nd take
Thought so too. Actually wasn't sure because it sounds so much like a ripoff of Betts's High Falls, no offense.
@@billcox199 this song came from a riff Dickey played, if you payed attention, during Whipping Post on the Fillmore East album. He played it so many times that they arranged a song from it. Dickey took credit for it because it was his riff. The end.
Su moda inigualable, VETERanos de Guerras en el ámbito de Guitarras Llorando sin sentitizador, acordes perfectos en cronometraje largos y cortos; (! Que. Guitarras y sus elementos MEJOR. Que BANDA. Brotherss
There's so much phenomenal guitar-playing here that Gregg's organ solo at the beginning is overlooked. Gregg is a fantastic organist and his B3 style really adds so much to the huge sound of the ABB over the years!
Warren's leads have been heard by many for many years and appreciated. Thank you Warren.
I like Warren and he is a guitar warrior. He has an uncanny knack to be able to fit in any style of rock music. This is one of those very few times where he is outclassed by two other guitarists. Derek and Jimmy’s solos are so fluid and on point where Warren always ends up doing his same tricks. Da diddle da diddle da diddle. That same triad lick in different spots on the neck. Oh well. Three great guitarists anyway.
I love it around 6:40 where Derek and Herring trade off those "sighing" licks! Excellent !
Anybody else at the beacon, early to mid 2000's , when Gregg passed out at his keyboard, in mid song ??
No doubt about it, one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
Good Lord! There's a complete school of blues masters. Get some all you aspiring guit-fiddlers!
This is truely fantastic.....i can listen to this all night long. 3 great guitarists on one stage, what more do you need?
One poor devil missed the thumbs up button.
Thats 3 of the finest jam guitarist alive.
Sure nice to hear this good stuff thx
this will be studied for years to come.
That was incendiary, all across that stage, jeez those Beacon shows were legendary .. Oh to have been there once.. I saw dozens of Allman Brother concerts from the 70's and up but man oh man you know this should have been on my bucket list.. ABB forever!!!
one word only
INCREDIBLE
Southern rock/jazz at its finest.
A BIG Thing I 💘 LOVE About This Time-Period IGenerally WARREN HAD To Keep His"Chops"At Full. Alert Strength!! WHEN U R SURROUNDED BY OTHER WORLD CLASS ELITES, U BETTER BE READY ESPECIALLY WHEN 'DA BALL IS TOSSED TO YA" & The SPOTLIGHT Is Directly On U!!🎸🎶🚀🚀
I still can’t believe this... always blown away every damn time. So good
@@danrutman1155 you will always be blown away by the brothers, my friend
Fucking hell. That was superb -- every bit as good as the original Allmans.
When Derek Trucks is watching you solo in awe you know you're REALLY fucking good at guitar. Jimmy is the goat
Jimmy Herring sounds like a good fit with Les Brers....
I would love a show with these three gentlemen with the only addition of mr jack Pearson. I would die a happy man
Y'all talk about Derek and Jimmy, and they set the ending up perfect, but see who finishes it off by knocking it right out of the park ....right ? Warren is a gun man...BANG BABY!!!
Rip Butch
Jimmy won this dual by far.
Jimmy and Derek were always more in tune with each other, the jazzier side, - Warren does his own thing. Love Jimmy
Screw the guitar comments. What about Greg killing the B3? That’s where it’s at.
I was fortunate to be at this show, which had a lot of other amazing talents as well: Bernard Purty, Jerry Jemott, Ron Holloway, Susan Tedeschi, Thom Doucette
Happy Birthday Warren 8-18-21....seemed fitting to watch this today....Warren Jimmy and Derek, all Special!
at about the 8:30 mark that Santa guy in the plaid shirt starts ripping off a solo the likes of which has never been heard before on an ABB stage, he sounds like John Mclaughlin in his early Mahavishnu days, absolutely smokin'. Actually I have to go listen to Inner Mounting Flame right now.
Jimmy Herring is the guitarist and funny you say that because he's now touring/playing with...John McLaughlin doing old Mahavishnu tracks! They just released a live stream video fo the concert a few days ago that goes for 3hours+. Absolute killer stuff! ;)
Just saw Jimmy with John Mclaughlin...I'd never heard of him...now I'm researching his whole catalog...And the Allman brothers have always been a love....sooo
Jimmy is amazing. Check out Lifeboat (2008) and Subject To Change without Notice (2012).
You sound like a complete fool calling Herring “that Santa guy.” Yes, McLaughlin is a top tier jazz guitarist, especially in his 70’s prime, but Jimmy filled in for Dickey Betts, Jerry Garcia and Mikey Houser. Herring is the “hired gun” GOAT. At least call him “The White Wizard.” Better yet, take your ass to a Widespread Panic show and watch him play those long nasty solos. Guy is almost Trey Anastasio level.
Just my .02, but the Herring/Trucks combo during the summer of 2000 was as hot as the band's ever been. Those guys really click together. (I MIGHT be a bit biased since Jimmy Herring's from my hometown.)
WARREN, DEREK and JIMMY... TOGHETHER and Grand Group...!!! GRUPAZO!!!!
This is freakin' awesome !!!!
Sweet tunes bro Jimmy!
Truck/Herring WTF...The last names alone smack of badass guitarist. I also wish my licks were that dope! Welp, at least I still know good music!!!!
Have you accepted Jimmy into your life today?
love jimmy, love derek & warren. bears notin' the o.g. only had one brother on guitar. love to ya mr. betts.
I grew up with Jimmy Herring. He and my younger brother Charlie used to sit around and play guitar together..and party..lol..:-) His Dad was the Judge in our town..Good memories..!
And he loves the brothers .!!!!!!
I miss seeing these guys live soo much 😢
Music is all about being in the moment. These guys are truly living
Greg: Why do we have to have more than one guitar solo every song? The Band: Because we're the fucking Allman Brothers!!!
@12:18 Derek and Jimmy cheesing over the licks just laid down... LOL
Amazing music. Totally connected. Just adds up the salt not having it's savor. I will always jamm and play this music, but it makes me sad to see the real truth never came alive.
OUTSTANDING !!!
I met Butch and Jaimo at a drum contest back in 68. They were the best drum squad in Georgia. It was real strange to see two white and black guys as friends back then. They had their groove already. Super Cool.
Everybody spot on as always!😎
This is AWESOME
Jimmy is the man!
All the members that have past is still sad. There will never be a better southern band😫
Warren just melted my face.
Por eso SON the allman Fathers Brothers and SAN brothers
That was too good.
Jam power, boys,straight JAM POWER!
Jimmy looks like he's having so much fun up there.
OK, right at about 11:28 is where I got a chill. Thanks Derek!
Warren, Derek,Jimmy.....the Mount Rushmore of Guitarist in my opinion
Are You Serious!!! All Three Greats Together
That was great.
Les Paul /SG pickups on the PRS, no wonder everything blended together so freaking well😁✌️🍄
WOW, that was fucking AWESOME!!!!!
Never seen Jimmy Herring before but I like his playing..very nice
Fantastica jam..Il meglio del meglio.( best of the best).
FUCK!! I can't breathe.
Jimmy Herring burning here.
11:28 Shit got real!
I want to see Paul Gilbert and Derek do stuff like that.
Go Warren!!!!! With no time to get your groove.
Excellent
hotdamn hotdamn hotdamn..... fucking awesome...
Superb. The theme sounds like the music for a Japanese spy movie. Plus, the bass line is totally bad ass. But, as usual, Gregg's B3 is never loud enough.
Real music.
When the ABB gets back together next time I would love to see Jimmy Herring and Jack Pearson on the guitars together.
Sixties Guitar Vibe I'd rather trucks and haynes. Haynes has been with the brothers 2 and a half decades and Derek is another level than any of the 4
Hey, load the stage full of pickers - Haynes, Pearson, Derek and Jimmy :-)
Our brains couldn't handle it!
Derek does stuff with a guitar that no one has ever done before.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🐬
4:32 just a beast with those swells
La verdadera ERA JYPPY
And that boys and girls is how it's done
Any questions?
That handoff from Derek to Jimmy is some sick $hiZle y’all. The way they improvise together is guitars talking. Guitarguments may ensue.
How great is this sound?? Like the Guitars are crying.
Derek at 11:50 put a big ole smile on Jimmy's face
Whew!
Another great song written by Dickie Betts
I just gave my Fillmore east album to a young man of 28 years old .
We need to educate the younger generation of this unbelievable music.
I bought the set of the March 12 - 13 sets at the Fillmore and try to get the young kid's to listen .
To them , if it ain't rap or this garbage music that is out today , no interest in it . A damn shame .
