All these guys are sick in their own right. As far as Jimmy is concerned the music comes first and the virtuosity which he has in spades comes second. Still totally in love with his Lifeboat album after all these years. A unique talent.
love this vid so much, this whole band inspires me and my band mate to not just stick with the normal song but to play out side the box go beyond the songs boundries but be able to bring it back in the end, Bruce is big on this. Jimmy gets alot of his inspiration from this, AQU is one of the few bands to have to limitations on play if you feel it deliver!!!
This is the kind of music you can't just put on for background! You actually have to stop what you're doing and listen, otherwise your brain will explode!
@dankgeetar Are you serious the umconving melodies and the Singer is what makes this Song Great What are you listening to ? 30 Seconds to Mars and Kings of Leon ?
As a full time musician that lived and played in Atlanta and played with some of the best there i may add, it brings me great pleasure in telling TheGreenman4444....continue your day job and weekend gigs.....when you ready to step up you game 4 levels....we can discuss music careers..... ..LOL.
ill agree with you that atl is not the BEST but you can make some damn good money, im from valdosta Ga. Im not full time but most of our big gigs come from ATL, i understand were you comin from tho. So were do you aside from? Tell me were the hot ticket is?
man i want this DVD!!! I had it about 2 years ago but it somehow broke in half, and now i cannot find it anywhere. Do you know anywhere where i could get it again? I bought it from INIO Music originally. Thank you
No, Q258's name is Jeff Sipe. Sipe left around '96, so I'm assuming this is after that, although I also know that he subbed out a few shows from time to time. Little John Roberts used to sub for him a good bit and i saw Jim White sit in with them once or twice in Atlanta.
@HaydenFromHell - To bad this was recorded in Jville, Florida. As a professional musician the best music scene is anywhere but Georgia...Just ask a musician that played there....NO GIGS....NO PAY....SEE YA, GA....At one time....in the early 80's....yeah....now....Hell to the No.
LOL.....No you crazy if say Georgia is a great music scene...that's why everyone leaves to pursue their career...Don't get me wrong....Georgia is OK as a state but as a music hub.....no, no, a thousand times no....
This is Jimmy's best recorded solo - histerical
On fire! What a band!
Oteil and Kofi with Jimmy what talent 😅

virtuosity is a phenomenon. these guys are the real deal and tight as hell. props.
No words to define Jimmy
I was there. It was really cold! But ARU was very hot!
I love ARU and the original lineup but this lineup was fucking amazing. My favorite lineup for sure.
Saw them in 2006 close out All Good Festival and it was so incredibly good, still can remember my mouth just wide open in amazement.
I just want an ARU shirt!
The guitar solo always makes me smile!!!
I remember seeing the bassist Oteil Burbridge playing with the Allman Brothers Band years ago.I love this music.
This is just SICK... I dream of playing in a band this funky and virtuosic. This is the best version of this song
Jimmy is the best of all time.
Always find myself back on this video
As much as I love Nirvana, PJ, AIC, etc. They didn't deserve to outshine these guys. People are so stupid.
Wooow! I have a bootleg with Col. Bruce Hampton and the Code Talkers doing this but this unreal!! Thanks for sharing!!
always wanted to see some live video of these guys. Thanks for posting.
Wow,what a fantastic band.

God damn these guys are brilliant! can some one tell me the players in this lineup, their myspace page is a little vague.
KOFI! Yessir!
This band just isn't human. I need 3 more lifetimes to even come close. And I'm not bad.....
Imagine walking into a mid sized club like this now and witnessing..... lmao!
O solo de Jimmy Herring nessa música é simplesmente do caralho! A Banda é demais!!
RIP Col Bruce
Oteil !!
Love the comments on this vid! Lots of respect!

kofi has gotten better since the ARU days. he seems to play with much more force and confidence today.
Jimmy RIPPING like Shawn Lane @3:30

@beautyaficionado Jimmy Herring, Oteil Burbrudge, Kofi Burbridge, Paul Henson, Sena O'Rourke
The whole band kicks ass but Jimmy Herring is a beast!
Also an incredibly refined player ua-cam.com/video/sWoMj0e5xLk/v-deo.html

Is Sean O'Rourke Apt. Q. 258?
Rawdon Waller No, Jeff Sipe is Apt. Q258

This is a different singer than my old recording?
Uh yeah, It's Paul Henson who did a lot of work with ARU when the Colonel BH wasn't the frontman.
Paul joined the band after Bruce left, sometime around '95.
***to have NO limitations
derek trucks brought me here
Guys, bring up some melody, some meaningful phrases, then its all yours.
Keep it up :)
Capt. Beef Fart...

Get rid of the singer and unconvincing melodies and you got yourselves a band
Rather see them with Colonel Bruce up front, this guy is trying waaaaaay too hard...
That’s Paul Henson and he was an equally gifted singer and songwriter. He passed away last week.

TheBeatSmith you're an absolute moron.
