I was lucky enough to see the band with this lineup (and a few more minus Matt) 7 or 8 times in this period (‘90-‘93). Hands down most consistently mind-blowing ensemble I ever got to see, playing venues that held 300-500. It’s really rare to get to see a band that good up close like that. It seriously reset my head. luckily, they came through Oxford, Memphis, and Jackson close to me, just happened to be in the right place at the right time…
This is a wonderful pro-shot video! I was lucky enough to videotape four of their early shows, including one with original member Reverend Mosier on banjo. They all have perfect sound, but are only a single-camera shoot. They can be found here: ua-cam.com/users/PlanetHopheadProject
I got to see Bruce many times in Atlanta when the Hampton Grease Band opened for many of the large bands that played there, their music was amazing. There were times when they were better than the headliners.
Please spill it! aRu was incredible. I was lucky enough to follow them from 91 on. They played New England often. When I first met Kofi he told me he was their tour manager. Matt wasn’t with them long, RIP colonel
I caught them live at the Phenix Hill Tavern in Louisville Ky. around 91. One of the best bands out there! About the same time I was catching John Scofield, Chick Corea Electric and Acoustic Band, Mike Stern with Bob Berg and Dennis Chambers, James Brown and The Grateful Dead all live around the same time.
Greatest band I ever saw. Period. Proud to say they're all friends. And, man--I miss the hell out of Bruce. Think of him every day.
You can do the math, but this was the peak of everything.
Best drummer in the god damned world!
My god the Col's jam during fixin to die is so incredible - RIP Col Bruce - he gave it all...
And Paul Henson and Kofi Burbridge.
Damn! Apt-Q258 is a bad man!

These guys were death defying back in their day. They flew by the seat of their pants.
I was fortunate to see them at The Georgia Theater, not knowing what I was about to hear be life enhancing. The whole show ✌🤙👍
I saw them there several times. I was also there when they recorded the live album. RrrrrrrrrOsevelt!
@@robertsteuer1442oh man! Tell me, what was it like hearing all those mind melting licks go down in real time?
Everyone in this band is my favorite player of their instrument. Although I think I might like Prince a bit more than Jimmy.
Jimmy is with Widespread Panic
Matt Mundy is a Close Friend of Mine.I think he is The Best on that Mandy!

These guys ended up successfully filling some of the biggest shoes in musical history!...I think Oteil and jimmy went to the moon?

Saw them in 1991 at The Steven TalkHouse in Miami, same members. Nowadays Oteil performs and lives here in South Florida.

In my humble opinion, I am too.
What was the intro song? I want to transcribe it.
