- Replacing the leaking heater control valve on my 2011 TDCi 2.4 Puma.
It's quite a common problem but the Land Rover Part is costly, I have found a cheaper replacement item. Here: amzn.to/2mfP7if

It’s people like you that make life a lot easier. Thank you so much
Outstanding video Gary, watching your detailed instructions this job literally took me 15 minutes, using the Ducato valve as you suggested. Typically Defender (mine's a 2007), all my hose clamps were different to yours and were the stainless screw clamp so very easy to remove and tighten. All the best mate - greetings from Queensland! Warren.
Learn something even at 60. I have never seen those hose clamps. The blue ones or the metal ones. I have not seen one of those clamp removers either. I have always used vice grips to clamp the hose and pliers to remove the clamps. I have missed out in 40+ years of working on my vehicles. Thanks for the video.
Lol! Every day is a school day!
THANKS, just what i needed..!!
Very well explained and demonstrated, so useful, thank you very much
No problem, glad to help.
Those tools are a must have, think that's my next purchase, my turbo pipes were a nightmare.
My Dad us to rub a little bit of grease in the end of his radiator hoses and heat hoses, to help install them and remove them if they every had to be replace. He used just regular wheel bearing grease, it doesn’t hurt anything and won’t contaminate the anti-freeze.
Use a pick between the hose and plastic to brake the seal 👍👍🏴
I forgot how nice your LR is. Runs nice
Brilliant video just what I needed cheers mate
Now you'll be nice and toasty this winter ;-)
I hope so!
It’s a nice looking vehicle
Just did this job tonight on my '11 Defender. I did the pipes whilst the valve was still on the bracket, looked like it was easier for me than it was for you? Great tip on the Fiat part!!
Will I need a new valve if the cable is sticking. I cabt see any leak. It was stuck open the other day and I had to manually close it.
If the cable is sticking just replace the cable!
I replaced the valve in my Defender today, but checked out your video first. I found it very useful, thank you. I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong, but the heater dial now appears to make no difference! Any thoughts on what I may have done wrong? Thanks.
Have you made sure the cable is attached at both ends?
Thanks Gary, I did wonder if I’d accidentally disconnected it at the other end. I’ll have to check that.
You reinstalled the pipes incorrectly. One with bleed screw should be higher up. If replaced incorrectly it will be a constant hot water feed direct to the heater core=constant heat.
@jessicastewart9684 thanks mate. I didn't even realise I had them in wrong but the system now works well. Also thanks to the uploader a really easy to follow step by step video. Cheers all🎉
How much would you sell the horse head you made Gary I am interested in buying it kind regards
