- Allisport have been working on a new airbox kit for the Tdci Puma engined Land Rover Defender and it's finally in production. We get a first glimpse at the design, how it works and how to fit it, in less than 30 minutes. This really is one of the easiest modifications you can make to your Defender for instant gains in power and throttle response.

Who would've thought you'd get almost 40hp from just changing the airbox?! I think that proves the factory engineers don't always do things because it's best, but because it works and it's cheaper. Well done!
I'll be adding this to the never-ending wish list on my Defender 😅
Awesome bit of kit !
Now that is very, very interesting. Not quite as pretty as the Nugget Stuff version, but still a very well thought out piece of kit, especially that the filter is an off-the-shelf model and not some limited edition version that requires cleaning etc. Will certainly be looking at this. 🤘

You can fit any after maerket grill as the fixing holes are in the same place. Or modify a standard LR one.

So you're saying with this intake and a stage 1 on a 2.4tdci puma I'm looking at 190bhp. But a stage 3 on a puma is 177bhp???

@LRLiveUK awesome bit of kit and great video, is it possible to fit this if there is a snorkel already in place or would the snorkel need to be removed and then refitted after the air box and pipework is swapped?
Was that a gain in HP on stock engine, as I’m sure he mentioned the graph shown was a lightly modified engine.
It was a standard engine with the centre box removed.
Could not find it on the Allisport page?

Which Alisport airbox do you recommend for a BMW M57 conversion?
I'll ask the question for you.
They have produced one for N57, will need to possibly make a modification for the M57
Also working on another product with a flat filter that sits into the inner wing
It may also be possible to pipe up the Tdci one, but you would need the Tdci mounts

Not sure, but they do a universal fit type that would work well.

The alloy air box is far better than the OE one, but claims of 38bhp are ridiculous given that the very long intake hose connecting the air box to the actual intake, is going to reduce air flow significantly.....................
The gain is made from replaceing the original restrictive pipe from the wing to the filter.
A somewhat misleading video title and claim. It is NOT +38 PEAK bhp gains..... and the dyno chart shows over 140hp for the non modded one.....
Yeah. Peak torque gains is maybe 7 lb/ft and peak horse power gain is about 12. Not bad number for anything you can bolt on in 30 minutes, but nowhere near the +38 in the title lol. Sure that power is there at the top end, but as he says… no one drives at the redline.
And as you noted, they didn’t mention that this engine already has a tune or something else done to it. I couldn’t tell if that intercooler was stock or not 🤷♂️
