Oh Eirin-you seem so defeated-and I although I have never had to cope with anything like what you are dealing with, it is so relatable to so many who suffer. My heart hurts for you. Will pray for your healing, for your spirit, and for your mental health-and for lighter and joyful days in your future. (And as a side note-I live near Holland, Michigan, USA where there is a huge annual tulip festival. We visit every year. The tulips are just starting to bloom-they are earlier than normal this year. I am an amateur photographer and will send you some tulip photos to share with your mom.

I have been battling a wound on the back of my right leg since last May. It hurts constantly and is excruciating when the doctor debries it. You give me perspective and the stark realization that I have no problems. You are an amazing person and I will pray for you. Thank you for the lesson in your message. I have severe Restless Legs, and after taking strong Painkillers, which helped, until it did more bad then good, I started Tramadol. It is my Live Savor! I am now 5 Years on it and I am not in trouble with it, but it takes care of my horrible Legs. I can only recommend Tramadol. God bless!

Hi Erin, I’m sorry to hear of the bedridden situation. Not fun. I remember recovering from surgeries a few springs ago and looking out the window to see the new bright green leaves on the tree, blue sky and puffy white clouds. As miserable as I felt, the view out the window was so beautiful and healing, if for a short time. I hope someday soon you will be able to get out and see some trees and see and listen to some birds. Girlllllll!! You are going through it!! I just went thru an almost two month stint on antibiotics and painful skin issues and having that feeling of life tidal waving. I am so very sorry you are going thru the antibiotics and pain. I think the infection, pain and blah feeling from antibiotics will also do a number to your mental health nevermind the awful feeling of depression knowing the hospital is coming up potentially. You are so freaking strong. I was wondering if you have an address. I just took a couple of photos of a tree that’s blooming. I haven’t been able to get outside and it was a temporary moment to go and see the sun. I grabbed a couple of snaps. I agree to just rest and work through the immediate issue and still find little moments of seeing the sun even thru a window or via well placed mirrors! You are so strong. Please pray for me for you. I want to pray for you to be well as soon as possible and also have a really sweet spring even if it’s on your side and thru a window. Maybe on warm days put a fan in your room to feel the wind if even by electricity and a heating pad on your neck and shoulders to feel some warm. I know you are temperature warm and heat is likely not indicated while you have infection but a little places in far from wound spots might feel good as well as using ice packs to just alter temperature of your body. I believe strongly in somatic exercises to help anxiety and depression. I will send you a link to one simple one. It might be harder to do while on antibiotics but maybe not. I know when I was on them I just wanted to sleep nonstop and it’s sucked bigtime and I wanted to get out of the fog of that tired feeling. Plus I imagine you have to deal with other side effects like nausea and possibly meds to push that back and drowsiness from those kinds of meds. I am happy to email with you from Seattle. My life isn’t overly uplifting but I do have the inside knowledge of being chronically disabled and what that does to your mental health. Mine not on the level of yours but possibly my mental issues more severe. You are one strong lady truly and I am sending all the love and light and tulips and daffodils and hyacinths and so on. Maybe someone can bring you a hyacynth or similar smell good spring flowers. You can also force bulbs in your room to enjoy taking care of a plant or a table of them on wheels. There’s something really rewarding about gardening and even indoors. Maybe start some seeds which may have to go outside or maybe can live inside with you or can be grown outside and then cut and brought back in. The process is incredible when you have issues around babies and fertility issues due to your health status. And if nothing else magbe some bulbs in a pot to grow indoors to just water and watch grow. Meanwhile I can say my latest online obsession has been true crime but it’s a little dark and depressing at times also. It does immerse my brain entirely though and allow me to think thru the puzzles of how crimes have happened etc and thus provides some intellectual distraction and pain distraction. What are you doing with your awake time which isn’t caregiver time and body care time right now? Your body says it’s a time of renewal and went haywire and depositing bone to tissue. The bone in muscle is the worst. Sounds very much triggering to inflammation and muscle contracture. Just such a terrible bummer especially this time of year but really any! I’m just east of Seattle and have a little dog and look out over the mountains from my balcony and have hummingbirds visit. If you would like any photos from my space and life I’m happy to share. It’s not exciting bc I don’t have a car and am home too much but I still try to make the best of it. Most days I complain and life sucks. I’m trying hard to stay positive for this weekend no matter how few spoons I have to spend. Lol Hang in there and don’t give up! You are tougher than that! Sending you virtual Easter eggs to dye and some fresh air and lightness of being in lieu of being able to play outdoors. You should write a book on how to make yourself cope while being stuck in bed and things like seasons and holidays changing. How you cope and what the challenges are and how you find to solve some of them. So many would benefit from this info. Anyways have a Happy Easter no matter what life is kicking at you!! I’m so glad I found you here on UA-cam. I’m like you, I can be sad and happy and appreciative within the span of about thirty seconds. It seems like right now you just have to wait things out a bit. Hopefully things will turn around soon. Meanwhile, try not to be too fearful of what’s ahead. Fear is such a destructive force. Thanks for letting us know how you’re doing. With this video you reminded me to be more grateful for what I have, and to be more mindful of my present health. Those of us who are healthy often take it for granted. I’m so sorry that you’re going through that. I will think good thoughts for your healing. I’m a 20-year-out paraplegic and had my first major pressure wound pop up in December 2019. I ended up in the ED at the beginning of March 2020 because it was stage four by then. I was admitted, given a PICC line, and then had flap surgery. I spent a week in the hospital and seven weeks in inpatient rehab. I had to stay in a clinitron bed then entire time and got IV antibiotics every 12 hours. This was all during the first couple months of Covid, so I wasn’t allowed to have any visitors. It was incredibly hard and lonely. I finally got to go home in May 2020 on Mother’s Day (US). I still had to go through the sitting protocol and was mostly bedridden until September 2020. I say all this to just share that the healing process is long and hard but it does happen and my hope for you is that you heal and are able to get back to living your life ❤️

I have severe Restless Legs, and after taking strong Painkillers, which helped, until it did more bad then good, I started Tramadol. It is my Live Savor! I am now 5 Years on it and I am not in trouble with it, but it takes care of my horrible Legs. I can only recommend Tramadol. God bless!

Hi Erin, I’m sorry to hear of the bedridden situation. Not fun. I remember recovering from surgeries a few springs ago and looking out the window to see the new bright green leaves on the tree, blue sky and puffy white clouds. As miserable as I felt, the view out the window was so beautiful and healing, if for a short time. I hope someday soon you will be able to get out and see some trees and see and listen to some birds. Girlllllll!! You are going through it!! I just went thru an almost two month stint on antibiotics and painful skin issues and having that feeling of life tidal waving. I am so very sorry you are going thru the antibiotics and pain. I think the infection, pain and blah feeling from antibiotics will also do a number to your mental health nevermind the awful feeling of depression knowing the hospital is coming up potentially.
You are so freaking strong. I was wondering if you have an address. I just took a couple of photos of a tree that’s blooming. I haven’t been able to get outside and it was a temporary moment to go and see the sun. I grabbed a couple of snaps.
I agree to just rest and work through the immediate issue and still find little moments of seeing the sun even thru a window or via well placed mirrors!
You are so strong. Please pray for me for you. I want to pray for you to be well as soon as possible and also have a really sweet spring even if it’s on your side and thru a window. Maybe on warm days put a fan in your room to feel the wind if even by electricity and a heating pad on your neck and shoulders to feel some warm.
I know you are temperature warm and heat is likely not indicated while you have infection but a little places in far from wound spots might feel good as well as using ice packs to just alter temperature of your body. I believe strongly in somatic exercises to help anxiety and depression. I will send you a link to one simple one. It might be harder to do while on antibiotics but maybe not.
I know when I was on them I just wanted to sleep nonstop and it’s sucked bigtime and I wanted to get out of the fog of that tired feeling.
Plus I imagine you have to deal with other side effects like nausea and possibly meds to push that back and drowsiness from those kinds of meds.
I am happy to email with you from Seattle. My life isn’t overly uplifting but I do have the inside knowledge of being chronically disabled and what that does to your mental health. Mine not on the level of yours but possibly my mental issues more severe. You are one strong lady truly and I am sending all the love and light and tulips and daffodils and hyacinths and so on. Maybe someone can bring you a hyacynth or similar smell good spring flowers. You can also force bulbs in your room to enjoy taking care of a plant or a table of them on wheels. There’s something really rewarding about gardening and even indoors. Maybe start some seeds which may have to go outside or maybe can live inside with you or can be grown outside and then cut and brought back in. The process is incredible when you have issues around babies and fertility issues due to your health status. And if nothing else magbe some bulbs in a pot to grow indoors to just water and watch grow.
Meanwhile I can say my latest online obsession has been true crime but it’s a little dark and depressing at times also. It does immerse my brain entirely though and allow me to think thru the puzzles of how crimes have happened etc and thus provides some intellectual distraction and pain distraction.
What are you doing with your awake time which isn’t caregiver time and body care time right now?
Your body says it’s a time of renewal and went haywire and depositing bone to tissue. The bone in muscle is the worst. Sounds very much triggering to inflammation and muscle contracture.
Just such a terrible bummer especially this time of year but really any!
I’m just east of Seattle and have a little dog and look out over the mountains from my balcony and have hummingbirds visit. If you would like any photos from my space and life I’m happy to share. It’s not exciting bc I don’t have a car and am home too much but I still try to make the best of it. Most days I complain and life sucks. I’m trying hard to stay positive for this weekend no matter how few spoons I have to spend. Lol

You should write a book on how to make yourself cope while being stuck in bed and things like seasons and holidays changing. How you cope and what the challenges are and how you find to solve some of them. So many would benefit from this info.

I’m so sorry that you’re going through that. I will think good thoughts for your healing. I’m a 20-year-out paraplegic and had my first major pressure wound pop up in December 2019. I ended up in the ED at the beginning of March 2020 because it was stage four by then. I was admitted, given a PICC line, and then had flap surgery. I spent a week in the hospital and seven weeks in inpatient rehab. I had to stay in a clinitron bed then entire time and got IV antibiotics every 12 hours. This was all during the first couple months of Covid, so I wasn’t allowed to have any visitors. It was incredibly hard and lonely. I finally got to go home in May 2020 on Mother’s Day (US). I still had to go through the sitting protocol and was mostly bedridden until September 2020.
I say all this to just share that the healing process is long and hard but it does happen and my hope for you is that you heal and are able to get back to living your life ❤️
