Definitely shouldn't have watched this before work this morning 😭 haha. I've always found it super interesting how some aspects of our stories are *exactly the same* and some are completely different. Thank you for making this video. Other trans folks putting themselves out there and sharing their stories definitely helped me discover and accept myself, as it did for you, and now you're doing that for other people. You're one rad dude and I look up to you a whole heck of a lot. Happy Trans Awareness Week. 🏳⚧
I am so sorry some people were not kind but so happy you got there. What courage, and I never would have known as you are clearly so contented with yourself now. Some advice for anyone having trouble with sleep is an app called Pillow. I too went through a period of trying drink to sleep due to pain. The app was a game changer, it not only gets you to sleep it helps keep you asleep. You are an incredible person for sharing this
as a trans man myself, i really enjoyed this video and hearing about our story. trans people talking about their lives always makes me feel less alone, so thank you. =]
I found so much inspiration from listening to your story. I’m really grateful to you for sharing it. While my journey and struggles aren’t gender identity related, your words about trying to feel “right” and the constant questioning on whether or not you’re following the best path really resonated with me. The idea of asking every morning if it feels right and continuing from there takes it down to a “one day at a time” mentality, and I think I needed to hear that today, so thank you. I think it is so cool you’re comfortable enough to share your story and help others.
Thanks for watching Niki! I’m glad parts of it resonated. I think we can all fall victim to the questioning of our paths and the dreaded imposter syndrome. Thank you again 🙏
As someone who could never relate or pretend to understand what you experienced, this is actually really insightful, well articulated, absolutely genuine, and I'm sure, appreciated by many many people. Thanks for sharing your story. We follow you because we love you and this allows us to get to know you even more, so thanks!
Extremely open and brave video, Kris. Sounds like a long and difficult journey, but I’m glad you’ve gotten to a good place with it all. I don’t directly know anyone who’s transitioned, so I learned a lot. Thank you. And apart from that, it’s always a joy to hear your Aussie accent, mate. 🙂
WOW Kris, such an honest & inspirational story. I have no issues with myself but I’m doing research because I’m supporting someone with learning disabilities who’s trans male to female. She’s getting no family support because of their religious beliefs, so I’m her only support & want to learn as much as I can about people’s experiences. It’s been heart warming to hear how happy & settled you are now that you feel like you 🥰🥰🥰 all the best to you & your wife 🥰 xx
You're amazing for sharing that very personal journey with us all. I am very glad you had the support of your family. I know from experience and from LGBTQ+ friends' experiences that having that kind of support from home is rare and can really make accepting yourself a lot easier. I am a bisexual woman who has had some backlash because of it and while my family was mostly supportive, it wasn't always that way. But this isn't about me. ;) I'm proud of you. I know you're a new booktuber to me, but watching this really made me feel a closeness towards you. I wish you luck on your continued journey in self-realization and I hope it's a smooth ride!
Thank you so much for being so open and honest in sharing your story, Kris. I loved hearing and learning about your experience ❤ Not gonna sit here and pretend I didn't tear up at certain moments, your story is so moving and inspiring. Just want to send you all the virtual hugs, so proud of you for making it through the dark days. No matter how much you struggled, you never gave up. Also, Rach is just an absolute champ, I am so happy you found her and that your bond was so strong that you made it out the other side together. And how beautiful to hear that books and an online community brought you so much catharsis, validation, reassurance and comfort during times when you were questioning everything, love that for you! I'm gonna look up those books, simply because of how much they mean to you! Just wondering now, how did you end up choosing the name Kris (as I'm assuming that wasn't the name you were born with)? Thanks again for this wonderful video, I hope your story helps some people out there 🥰
Thank you for your beautiful response Esmay, books make everything better :p In terms of my name, I wasn’t very inventive, it was my preferred name growing up so most people called me Kris anyway!
Thank you for being so open and honest in sharing your story. I cannot begin to truly understand your journey but I think it’s so important that people like you who are comfortable with talking about your personal life give a voice to others who live every day feeling alone and not themselves. Very inspirational, well articulated, and emotional. I’m so glad you are in a better place now!
Thanks for sharing such a personal and inspiring story Kris. You definitely got me welling up at points. I am so happy that you have found your happiness 🥰
Thank you for sharing your story 💕 Extremely insightful and honest look at something society often catastrophizes. I’m so glad you’ve found your happiness, and the booktube community is lucky to have you :) I means as soon as I saw Dreams of the Dying displayed on your shelves it was an instant sub 😂
Thank you so much for sharing this. It’s so important to hear stories and experiences from others, it’s one of the beauties of the internet.
Thank you for watching!

Haha thanks for the watch Matt … and the enjoyment of the accent 😂 most aussies I know think it’s awful 😅
@@AFictionalEscapist I’m an Aussie living overseas (Berlin), so any Aussie accent makes me feel a little like I’m home. 🙂
