@@JawlessPaul it's definitely powerful on bosses where there's more than 1 enemy. Like in hades fight, you can target one of the better minion he summons and it'll do some work for you.
I feel like charm doesn't last long enough be worth using Aphrodite's call. I do like using the legendary that gives all weak afflictions a chance to charm though.
I prefer Poseidon, Athena, and Ares' aid, since they're the ones that make you invincible and I mostly use Call as a panic button because I'm bad at the game
@@purpleblah2 Charm is so fucking good against hades. When you see the circle forming around him, if you are too close and cannot dodge, you just press call. Even better than Athenea's call.
Yeah same, and Aphrodite! They both just wipe the boss in one hit; I don't understand his logic. I'm wondering if he's coming from like a speedrun perspective or something where getting little uses throughout the campaign are important? I literally only use calls on bosses most of the time.
@@moocowp4970 Only using calls on bosses sounds like a waste of potential to me.. aphro's aid used to reach (with bellowing) 5,700 dmg but they kept nerfing her call since her call practically can skip some boss phases (it got to a point where you could vanquish asterius before he could leave LMAO)
Ares' Call with his legendary absolutely MELTS if you can pull it off. I got the opportunity to stand in the middle of Hades while he did his laser with my Ares call and his health sunk so fast I legit was shocked that he died.. it was so much damage I was laughing
A full Ares build (call, increased area on blade rift, longer blade rift, legendary) makes Hades genuinely a pretty easy fight once you're in the second phase. Add one of the god-gauge modifying boons (Athena, Hermes, Zeus, Poseidon) and you're good
Hades Call from a *comic relief* standpoint is automatic S Tier, though, because calling on Hades while you fight him triggers dialogue lines that are absolutely HILARIOUS.
I would put Athena call at easy S tier, it's the only call that grants you imperviousness like Ares or Poseidon that also allows you to attack with your own weapons instead of the call doing the damage, when you have a very high dps build Athena call can give you best dps because you can just facetank bosses and enemies while relentlessly dishing out attacks with impunity, can also give enemies exposed status or deflect attacks for higher dps too. I think people wrongly think of Athena aid as being only for defense or better for defense than offense, my fastest fists run was with Athena call because it gave me huge dps boost against bosses and some rooms, more than Zeus or Dio would have and I am invincible too, easy S tier call for me.
I hnoestly love Artemis' aid. The sheer massive amount of burst damage it can inflict can be good for skipping boss phases and even just in general chunking huge parts of a boss' health bar. That's just me though
@@bruhder5854 On keyboard you are pressing A and D repeatedly while standing right on top of the boss and it'll tick once every 0.75 second. Against normal enemies, if it doesn't oneshot them then yeah it can be a little awkward.
I think you're sleepin' on best girl Aphrodite a bit (😏), that Charm makes some of the toughest rooms a cakewalk if you target the toughest enemies to fight for you instead. You can even make the Elysium bosses fight each other. It's a godsend, no pun intended, in the boss rooms of Styx for the mega-rat and mega-satyr and those pesky laser snakes. And of course the max charge hit is great on all Bosses as long as you're mindful of those impervious phase change moments. It's especially useful when you have the Pact powering up the armored foes and mini-bosses, suddenly all that heat is working in your favor. Easily S tier personally, it's saved some runs I thought for sure I wouldn't clear.
A point I like to bring up is synergies. I think this game is much more about synergies than how good things are individually. In this case, Aphro+Zeus's Smoldering Air duo is one of the best duo boons by itself, but with Aphro call it can theoretically perma charm Hades. The thing about those calls that have a duration is that Aphro's charm is a debuff, so while the charm is still under effect, your call bar is building up, unlike Athena's or Poseidon's. It is also the longest duration of calls, and you can pom it for increased duration. so if you pom it and have Clouded Judgement to fill the bar faster, Hades will stay charmed longer than not, and I think it might be possible to make it permanent (though I never did it myself). A sad thing about Dio's call is that due to the way hangover stacks work, you shouldn't get his call if you have other hangover sources because they will overwrite his call, which sucks ass. Even if it didn't got overwritten, then your other sources would get overwritten, which is still a dps loss (it is also downright broken with Smoldering Air due to durations and bla bla bla). Another combo I've heard is Hades call + Hestia rail. Never did it, but it sounds at least fun!
Hey man, love your content. You and Mr.H are totally keeping this fun hundreds of hours into my game! These videos are always a joy to view. Please do keep publishing more content like this! Happy holidays and thank you!
Thanks for the info! I'm trying to like Zeus call, but the 2500 insta-damage from Artemis or Aphro feels better to me than the lightning bolts, where getting them to actually hit the enemy is a challenge that usually doesn't go well for me. I'll keep trying and hoping I find the trick to it.
A little late answer maybe but i for my part make it dependant on the weapon i use. With fists or sword you are usually pretty close to the enemy so the lightning hits the right target most of the time.
same thing for me- I don't really like the zeus call bc it requires me to be on top of enemies and i usually reserve calls for when i'm getting tired and overwhelmed towards the end, but the artemis call is perfect for that bc it can charge up to full then instantly delete smth like the last phase of the hydra with one button
Just want to point out Athena's Aid and cursed slash from Stygian. That combo just means you can play as recklessly as you like and can heal it all up. With those two you kinda just dont die.
That's great you like that boon! I haven't noticed very much from it. A HUGE factor in charging your call quickly is how many "ticks" of damage you have. If you are hitting with big crits every few seconds, vs if you do 10 different sources of tiny amounts of damage, you will charge your call MUCH faster with the quick, numerous, small sources of damage.
I really appreciate that you marked the spoiler part of the video as "secret keepsake", otherwise I'd get spoiled. Also this video convinced me to try getting aid from from other gods besides Poseidon
I'm a new YT subscriber, commenting for the first time ever, your Hades content is sick bro, i thought i was kind of done with the game until I found your channel. Keep up the great work! Much love from Peru!!
Nice video! I just wanted to add that Aphrodite's Aid paired with Smoldering Air (Duo with Zeus) is easily an A setup in my opinion; you can just spam it and keep enemies nearly perma-confused, it's pretty neat for CC :)
Charm has to be my favorite thing in the game. There is a legendary boon that makes every weak attack charm 15 percent of the time. I was doing a bow run, where I decided to use the shotgun strat. (Special spam). I got that legendary so every time I got close to an enemy, and did my special on it and it was charmed.
Great list! The one thing I do really like about Artemis' call is that it seeks out enemies so you can wait behind the barrier and still get Hades. However, it's annoying when it doesn't go for the intended target!
To me, not a single other line in the game comes close to the sheer fucking might and gravitas emanating from that one. Even after hearing it so many times already, it still gives me such a rush
I like Hades for a few reasons. 5 seconds of invisibility and 100% flat boost at max is strong to begin with, it basically gives you two boons for the one slot with the call and the starting with partial gauge, and it gives you a little more control over the game's randomness since none of the gods will ever offer you Aid while you're wearing it.
Aphrodites call with a couple poms, Smoldering Air, and a few other boons that enhance your call's chargeup allow you to charm practically every enemy in a room, and it can continuously shut down Hades to where he can only get 1 attack in every 5-6 seconds, after which charmed once again. Makes the boss an actual cakewalk
Interesting! I didn't think of that; I always grab her call if possible but almost always for the 2500 damage, not for the charm. I'll have to try this approach!
Aphrodite’s call is really good or I really like if you’re able to get the duo boon that makes the gauge fill up really fast, it just becomes spam charm and enemies can’t do anything but that’s really the only good time
One thing to note about Ares call is that the damage scaling with rarity is absolutely ridiculous for some reason. Zeus call goes from 50 to 60 damage between common and Epic, a 20% damage boost. Dionysus goes from 15 to 18 damage per tick, a 20% damage boost. Poseidon goes from 250 to 350 damage, a much larger 40% boost. Ares goes from 30 to 45 damage, a whopping 50% damage boost. Ares greater call is basically a guaranteed Hades health threshold (e.g. until he puts up a damage shield) with a lot of residual mob damage as well, which is about all you can ask of a greater call, although Dio call is probably the best IMO if you're just looking at the single bar calls (and common Dio call, used four times for one bar, outdamages Aphro greater call of any rarity, for what it's worth, so it's just purely better in so many ways other than the interrupt). Athena call used to be straight up the best in the game for the final boss because of absolutely obscene pom scaling, like level 6 greater call would last his entire 2nd or 3rd health bar including through the damage shields (around 25 seconds) if you had decent damage to back it up. It's since been nerfed into the ground, though.
Another great video, I was just thinking about which Calls I should prioritize. Also, I love how you don't bash the "please subscribe to me", and instead you take the more humble approach and leave it as a suggestion. That's even rarer than a Heroic boon.
There's no way you can rate puddles aid over beyblade aid. My only problem is you didn't factor in the blade rift modifications like black metal but you did factor in the rip current thing for poseidon. Ares aid with modification destroys poseidons aid with modification. But this is inspiring me to make an aid focused build for my next run and try some aids I don't use often so I enjoyed this.
I love Aphrodite's call, it's so nice and spammable, especially if you get boons to quickly fill the gauge. I remember using it in the Hades fight. I would attack and just before he attacked me, I would use it. And I spammed that the whole fight. I love it.
The one actually good thing about Aphrodites call is that you always get the 2500 damage no matter if the boon is normal, rare, epic or heroic. And if you get other boons which enable you to fill up the bar to max quickly it is pretty good against bosses at least.
I actually like spamming Aphrodite. I’m not sure how long the charm lasts on bosses but with poms it can be pretty long. Especially if you make the heroes fight each other and interrupt hades spin
I was super hyped when I've seen Seal of the dead from Hades. At top level of the trinket it fills the bar by 30%, so with just Athena's boon that partially fill the bar you have it on demand for every encounter from the get go, but I would also add, that having that +100% DAMAGE boost for 5 seconds from the full charge is just a-m-a-z-i-n-g for bossfights with Teseus and Hades, because You basically get Athena with nuclear ballistic missile on hand.
My ranking would go upside down. lmao I honestly rarely ever need a call unless it's a boss fight. so aphrodite and artemis do a really good job at that, especially if you pair it up with hermes 1% per second. it doesn't tend to do much in other situations, but in a boss fight it will allow you to use it twice or maybe 3 times if you get hit a bit too much, which is great
Aphrodite's call is probably my favorite, as I love ranged calls. And with the 25% regenerating call duo boon I ran around the stage and have Asterius kill Theseus with the blade storm attack. And have Zeus just stand around doing nothing while I beat the crap out of him.
I've a high suspicion that charmed enemies are buffed while they're cursed, just to leave a couple of examples I've seen a swordsmen one shotting two armored swordsmen and a skeleton hitting really hard Hades.
I think you're right, I was running with it the other day, and I noticed that in the Satyr Tunnels whenever I charmed a snake stone, its lasers decimated any enemy almost immediately
I have a certain soft spot for the Aries call after it single handedly saved a run where I had 4 hp left on the final stage of the Hades fight. I had the boon that increases blade rift damage with consecutive hits and a maxed out bar took out the last half of Hades' health
Literally took me 15 runs while running Poseidon keepsake to get rip current for the fated prophecy thing, the call wouldn’t ever show up... super unlucky lol but finally got it on run 16!
Artemis call can be used incrementally in regular fights to speed up damage dealing or to enable reach. It's only with the bosses that you should charge it fully. Irrc it also synergizes with the mark making it more likely to be critical. It is also one of the safest to use since the projectiles will home in on their own and can be quickly shot in succession. Zeus call puts your body on the line, Ares and Posedon can end with you exiting in a precarious situation.
Charm Chiron is actually my favorite build. Aphro Aid with Zues duo, coupled with Aphro legendary on Chiron special. Ideally also that Athena boon that starts you with meter. A lot to get going, but soo much fun. The trick is knowing what to charm and when. I admit it's not as straightforward or reliable damage-wise as the other calls, but it IS really flexible and rewarding, once you figure it out.
solid list, i really like poseidon, zeus and dionysis' but aphrodites charm is nice in the theseus fight, when he calls HIS aid and you charm him and the bull is nearby it almost kills him instantly ^^
Yep you guessed it, I disagree with Ares' aid. I think it's the same with Poseidon with no Rip Current at B tier. I've learned to appreciate it on medium to high heat runs cause I used it defensively if I can't get Poseidon or Athena's aid.
When I first started playing I would get ares aid and get as many blade rift buffs as I could and then just sit on top of hades while he did the 360 lasers and watch the health melt away. I find it boring now that I’m better but it’s real good for new players who are having trouble with hades
Loved the video as I do all your content. Have to say I feel different about Hermes auto charge, I find at higher rarity, especially if you're lucky enough to pick up starting a room with a partial charge you can have a greater call ready to go in no time. Been invaluable on call heavy runs in mini boss and boss rooms where I've just been able to spam out greater calls to deal with everything. Would love to see a follow up on how the calls can be enhanced by various same diety and duo boons.
I've been watching more and more of your videos recently, whenever I need to take a break from Hades but can't stop thinking about Hades; they're great!! I hope I can catch one of your streams sometime (PS: I was kind of surprised when you said Quick Favor was bad; isn't the automatic gauge fill nice to have?)
I tend to think about the calls along the continuum of secondary effects. For example, Artemis's call doesn't do much other than present a source of damage and qualify you for some duos even with all the secondaries. So her call works best when you're trying to make a duo with her and not fill in the other slots and doesn't help much if you were trying to make her part of the primary damage source. In contrast, Zeus's call benefits significantly from every secondary and as such works really well when incorporating Zeus into your primary damage source
Athenas call is probably my most used call. It's just so good to chill in Hades' lasers and do massive damage while you won't take any. Same goes for Ares. I like Aphrodite for huge damage in a single shot but I don't really use Artemis. I just don't really know what to think of Artemis' call but maybe I should give it another chance. Zeus and Dionysus are always nice to have. Poseidon is kinda in the middle for me. It depends on my playstyle for each of the weapons and their aspects (there are some aspects with which I don't really want to have that call) but if I play with high heat levels, then it's always nice. All calls which make you impervious are nice on high heat, I would say. Hades' call is pretty cool and I tend to use it a lot if I just don't get any other call I would want in a run. But I do agree with you that it is not a good choice for a keepsake to start a run with.
Something I noticed from Haelian's Ares cast run the other day. It fills up the call meter so fast, a max gauge Artemis call could be used in most rooms.
I'm confused about why you said Hermes' boon that increases your God Gauge automatically is not good at all? I love this boon, it's great for boss fights when you're constantly dashing and have trouble finding an opening to go in and get a hit, instead of staying stagnant the gauge fills up by itself pretty fast.
I'd say the benefit is marginal unless you are playing very slowly. I suppose it can eek out some extra damage if you are stalling. Might just be a style of play thing.
@@JawlessPaul I can see why you'd find it useless as someone who's great at this game. I'm new to video games and I suck a lot so it helped my very slow and hesitant play style 🤣
As someone who's not very good at video games, what i want from my call is really to charge it to full as quick as possible, and get a huge chunk of damage off, which i think Artemis' is definitely best for. Zeus dionysus and poseidon do a lot of damage, but you need to position yourself well for that, while artemis is just one huge shot at the biggest enemy from anywhere on the map. Athena and poseidon i mostly use as a get out of jail free card incrementally, as opposed to getting damage out. Just whenever i panic i can call and escape that big hit coming my way
Nice! The main issue with the "fully charged" calls is that 90% of rooms won't get you to full charge and by then the fight is already over. Thanks for the comment!
I thought the charm effect was weak, but then I accidently got it paired with smoldering air at styx. Found out enemies actually do thousands of damage to each other. Large rats were one shotting each other and the summons hades has a stage one were doing significant damage to him. Probably still not worth doing given the setup, but still more interesting than I initially thought.
I'd personally say poseidon has the most useful call imo. Rip current obviously makes it much better, but even without it I take poseidons aid as a defensive pick over athena any day of the week. I use it right when I'm about to dodge out of something and instead charge in for more damage. It's also worth noting that it combines well with all the poseidon knock back boons as well and is imo one of the best calls to spam if you have all the supporting boons, perhaps right behind zeus in that regard.
Atremis aid you should shoot(pun intended) for pressure points, Privileged status, and clean kill to increase the damage even if you have to fire it at less than max gauge. Sometimes hesitating to use your call can get you killed. Also calls free you from being stunned(at least when Hades has you pinned down by the pots). I think you also get a 1 sec I-frame.
@@JawlessPaul Yes I've used it in the past. Maybe it's even less than a second. Alternatively it may only last for one hit so it's not spectacular. That's why whenever I fight Hades, I try to make sure I have some kind of call. It's helped me block attacks. My theory is the devs wanted you to complete the animation of using the call so they gave us that I-frame. And in case you were wondering, I've had this done with calls that don't give I-frames so it's something that's there. Of course this is safer with calls that give I-frames. For what it's worth, it's not something I rely on too much. I think the timing is very very specific. And possibly glitches so Hades can still kill you even if you deliberately try to use this I-frame from the call. Like maybe the I-frame itself saves you... but every other additional hit after the first hit gets you anyway(so be careful about multiple attacks!). It's better to just avoid Hades' attacks altogether.
Just picked up Hades for Christmas 🎄 and I’ve been hooked on your channel!!! You have a new subscriber here sir cheers 🍻 thanks for the beginner tips 👍🏼 Like number 61 is from me
The two times I beat the game so far were with Aphrodite‘s and Artemis‘ Calls, and they helped tremendously against the late bosses. So if those are the weaker ones, I guess calls are pretty great.
Zeus or Dionysis is my go-to for any of my Malphon builds or in-your-face melee builds. Otherwise if I do range I go for Artemis or Demeter. Athena and Ares are pretty much panic escape calls that can be good on any build, though Athena is more well rounded. I don't use Aphrodite's much. Poseidon's is a little weird for me, but I guess I can put it in the panic escape category.
I haven't experimented much with Calls yet, though of course I've had a couple winning builds with the Zeus Call where it only goes to one bar but charges super-fast so you can spam it like crazy. and with Static Discharge and Double Strike it's insane and you can basically use only that and one other move with a curse to cause Privileged Status, and utterly smoke Hades. in general getting Zeus's Call tends to entirely alter my play. Poseidon and Ares calls I use offensively to some degree but I actually tend to use them just as much for their brief invulnerability to extricate myself from bad situations. also I feel like you should have mentioned how since Ares' Call is a Blade Rift, all the Blade Rift boons apply to it just like with the Cast and the Dash. You really need some of those to make the Call worthwhile. Dio's boon I never took for a long time, and then I finally got it and realized it rules. AOE Hangover is sexy Aphrodite's sucks. if you want to have fun with her Charm effect you build to her legendary and then you're charming frequently with one of your main offensive abilities. I simply would not take Aphrodite's Aid. I don't really get Artemis's. it's quite underwhelming, and also there's seldom a circumstance where she doesn't offer anything better, she has a really nice back catalogue of boons. Pressure Points, Hide Breaker, Hunter's Mark, Clean Kill, and especially Support Fire are all nice. compare to some of the other gods who have very situational boons. meanwhile, like, Poseidon could offer you Ocean's Bounty, Sunken Treasure, and his call, so, yeah you take the call. Demeter's is fine. you get lucky with her Chill-affecting boons, especially Arctic Blast, and it becomes most excellent. Good in smaller rooms and when you have a build where you want to draw aggro rather than run away. I actually don't love Athena's because I'd rather have damage and increase my DPS to win the damage race rather than play so defensively.
There are also the calls good against bosses, and the ones good for encounters. Dyonysus Demeter and Zeus are great for encounters for exemple. Artemis Poseidon ares are good for bosses ( they deal a lot of damage to one particular ennemy )
Finally a Call rank list! Agreed in that Aphrodite's is pretty trash. Though because of your list, I may have to revisit my opinions on Poseidon and Dionysus. I also only use [redacted] when I'm trying to role play "Prince of the Underworld" lol. Great stuff man! Keep up the awesome content!
Poseidon all the way for me. About to get hit? Use it and deal good damage. God gauge is full? Deal a ton of damage. Athena is basically the same. If your damage isn’t too good Poseidon will help more. Zeus can do tons with the right additional boons. I don’t like Demeter’s call. Aphrodite at least does big damage fast. I have to try charm out. Maybe that will help me beat 32 heat. I’m close to being able to beat it, but I need to get better at the game. On a side note. When you mentioned killing freeze it reminded me of what happened yesterday. I killed Hades with Winter Harvest ( pretty sure it did it ). Demeter said something right as it happened, though I forget what it was. If you never saw that, try it,
Great video. Personally, I think that Posiedon and Athena calls are better than where you placed them. In my opinion they are both S tier. I need to go try Zeus and Dionysus call some more because I always have just used full charge calls and I wrote them off pretty early because of that.
Ares call is a lot better with either of tier 2 rift boons and the legendary, bumps it up to at least B tier IMO. Wish you had mentioned those but I completely agree with all your other rankings and reasoning.
I love “nope-ing” Hades with charm. It’s not amazing for a call but, if I’ve wound up grabbing it because I’ve only rolled common calls until ToS, then it’s at least fun to use against Hades. Any of the impervious boons are pretty rad for me.
I really discounted his call until I saw some speedrunners use it. +100% damage is crazy good if you trigger it right before a beefy move like rockets or bull rush
Aphrodite's call is insanely good when you have her duo boon with Zues that automatically fills up the gauge but caps it at 25%. Charm Hades to interrupt his combos; hes basically defenseless and open to a beating every few secones when you spam Aphrodite's call. I would just focus on dodging him and come in to combo him after calling Aphrodite. It gets even better when you have her boon that buffs damage to weakened foes. Barely took any damage in the fight.
I take Aphrodite’s call the least unless it’s late in a run and nothing better has come up. It’s massive full gauge damage is good for final boss as you often get at least 2 full bars during the fight, but for the rest of the run it’s pretty weak
Aphrodite's Aid is S tier for bosses, D tier otherwise Interrupts and keeps the boss from doing dmg longer than the the invulnerability duration of other calls If you're doing well and can hold onto the call you can finish off the boss with insane dmg burst
Zeus's call is insane with the right boons, he literally killed hades on his own, not that my damage was trash, it was pretty good, but he did like 70% of the job. Ps: currently i'm just at heat 2 so beating hades is rare to me :)
I prefer Artemis’ aid for bosses because it’s quick instance damage so you don’t have to worry about the bosses getting out of dodge, putting up a shield etc etc
As I've gotten better at the game and moved into higher heats with different weapons and aspects, and discovered more and more builds, I've found that more and more of what I didn't like turns out to have some use in some situation, it's just that how I was playing up until that point didn't make that situation particularly common. It still seems like it's a lot easier to force some situations over others though. So, that's what I go by when thinking of this stuff. How many future possible options does this thing enable? Or if I see it late in a run when other things are locked in, how helpful would this still be on average?
Artemis is soooo underrated here, like, she does at least 10k damage, but she will most definitely deal way more than that with a full charge. Is a one shot finisher indeed
Good list. Poseidon has to be my comfort pick. Get out of jail free card with movement speed. Plus it's hilarious slamming enemies into stuff and seeing their health bars disappear.
After seeing this video I think I might have been undervaluing the damage output of calls. But usually I just take the ones that give invulnerability. Probably Athena and Poseidon being my favorite.
Ares' aid can do massive damage when combines with his legendary Boon, however I do agree that in general it's on the weaker side. I also find demeter's call to be extremely weak tbh and I generally avoid it. Also an upgraded Artemis call + heart rend = massive damage
Just as a format note, at the end of the video, a recap screen of the calls/tiers/notes would be helpful.

Charm can actually do decent damage if the enemies target each other. You can get Theseus and Asterius to take out big chunks of each other's health.
That's cool! I haven't really experienced it but it sounds interesting!
@@JawlessPaul it's definitely powerful on bosses where there's more than 1 enemy. Like in hades fight, you can target one of the better minion he summons and it'll do some work for you.

there's special dialouge too
it also interrupts the bosses. If they are about to attack, they just stop and you can keep on pressing buttons. For me it's A tier

I fully agree! You can dish out a lot of damage when you aren't worried about taking any!
100% agreed. Her call goes with any build you can make and doesn't hamper your gameplan. Same with deflect dash.
i like charm just because if you get it with aphro-zues duo you can make hades run into a corner and think about his life decisions so often
I hnoestly love Artemis' aid. The sheer massive amount of burst damage it can inflict can be good for skipping boss phases and even just in general chunking huge parts of a boss' health bar. That's just me though
As a person who most of the time forget to use the calls and think you only need them for the Bosses I like Artemitis call, but I guess I am a simp:D
Nah! That's a good way to use the call as well. Just not as much damage as the spammable calls 😊
@@skinny_fingers4511 aphrodite would like a word
@@lucasbeck1391 lol
The M in simp stands for mediocre . NOTHING about Artemis and her boons are mediocre so therefore you can’t be a simp
I feel like the fun factor building around Poseidon aid brings it to S for me!
I could see that! Its such a blast! Definitely the most enjoyable call!😊
It's really fun on controller but if you're playing mouse and keyboard... It's not fun because you can't do 360 degrees hits easily
It's really good with the aphrodite zeus combo boon
It’s really the best against Asterius and Theseus.
You are welcome!
Artemis is 7500 damage if you crit, takes out a phase of Hades in one hit
same thing for me- I don't really like the zeus call bc it requires me to be on top of enemies and i usually reserve calls for when i'm getting tired and overwhelmed towards the end, but the artemis call is perfect for that bc it can charge up to full then instantly delete smth like the last phase of the hydra with one button
I love that series, cant wait for the updated one on casts! :D
Yeah! Its a monster video to make!
Just want to point out Athena's Aid and cursed slash from Stygian. That combo just means you can play as recklessly as you like and can heal it all up. With those two you kinda just dont die.
Very cool idea!
YES!!! I love playing with Sygius because of cursed slash! Plowed through the game fairly well with that daidalus upgrade
Exactly how I beat Hades for the 1st time!
I agree with everything besides Poseidon aid, id put that in s tier also. With like 3 poms your up to 500 damage and you can really lay in with it
Quick favor is great imo. When ever I run it, I'll get my calls so fast.
Good luck with your call adventures!
I'm a new YT subscriber, commenting for the first time ever, your Hades content is sick bro, i thought i was kind of done with the game until I found your channel. Keep up the great work! Much love from Peru!!
Right on! Thank you for the kind words!
Hades call is actually so good, the 100% damage increase is pretty massive
agreed, especially if you've upgraded your weapon damages.
Nice video! I just wanted to add that Aphrodite's Aid paired with Smoldering Air (Duo with Zeus) is easily an A setup in my opinion; you can just spam it and keep enemies nearly perma-confused, it's pretty neat for CC :)
yes! one of my easiest hades battles was with that set up!
However, it's annoying when it doesn't go for the intended target!
but will anything actually beat hearing Demeter's "I will take everything away!" for the first time?
To me, not a single other line in the game comes close to the sheer fucking might and gravitas emanating from that one. Even after hearing it so many times already, it still gives me such a rush
Demeter's call may not be the best but she is badass.
Especially when used on Hades
Charm with the Zeus Aphro Duo is actually really good against daddy, you spam it and you disable most of his attacks.
you just had to say daddy huh😭
JP has the 'no facial hair' keepsake equipped for this video
Aphrodite’s call is really good or I really like if you’re able to get the duo boon that makes the gauge fill up really fast, it just becomes spam charm and enemies can’t do anything but that’s really the only good time
Artemis and Aphrodite calls are so fun
Been waiting for this one for a while!! Cheers!
About to play this morning.
Super stoked to get inspired from this!
I just kept thinking about the Bastion song being used in the background, while watching this.
Bastion had such good music
For sure! It's a great boss killer!
I actually like spamming Aphrodite. I’m not sure how long the charm lasts on bosses but with poms it can be pretty long. Especially if you make the heroes fight each other and interrupt hades spin
Yeah you have to choose between 4 charms or big damage.
Artemis Aid can push boss phases, especially in hades on heat imagine having sneaks and you can "force" push the next phase easily
ikr?artimes is call is actually pretty good if your looking for crtical hits also if you use artimes call at max it MELTS hades health
My ranking would go upside down. lmao
I honestly rarely ever need a call unless it's a boss fight. so aphrodite and artemis do a really good job at that, especially if you pair it up with hermes 1% per second. it doesn't tend to do much in other situations, but in a boss fight it will allow you to use it twice or maybe 3 times if you get hit a bit too much, which is great
Fair enough!
@@JawlessPaul your videos are overall pretty helpful tho, keep it up
Aphrodite's call is probably my favorite, as I love ranged calls.
Good to know some of my top Calls are the same as yours as well 😆
Charm Chiron is actually my favorite build.
Great video as always! Keep 'em coming my dude! ;)
solid list, i really like poseidon, zeus and dionysis' but
aphrodites charm is nice in the theseus fight, when he calls HIS aid and you charm him and the bull is nearby it almost kills him instantly ^^
Yep you guessed it, I disagree with Ares' aid. I think it's the same with Poseidon with no Rip Current at B tier. I've learned to appreciate it on medium to high heat runs cause I used it defensively if I can't get Poseidon or Athena's aid.
Fair enough! 😂
There's definitely lots to talk about with these!
Athena's call is my go-to for high heat runs.
poseidon and ares calls have saved my ass and won me many runs especially in hades fight
Something I noticed from Haelian's Ares cast run the other day. It fills up the call meter so fast, a max gauge Artemis call could be used in most rooms.
That's true! The more ticks of damage the faster the call bar fills up. Could be a solid combo!
It's all good! I remember playing slowly when I was learning! It is definitely useful then!
1 sec I-frame for using your call? I've never heard this... nor noticed it
@@JawlessPaul Yes I've used it in the past.
You have a new subscriber here sir cheers 🍻 thanks for the beginner tips 👍🏼
Like number 61 is from me
Woot! Thanks Humorous!
The two times I beat the game so far were with Aphrodite‘s and Artemis‘ Calls, and they helped tremendously against the late bosses. So if those are the weaker ones, I guess calls are pretty great.
They are!
AOE Hangover is sexy
Aphrodite's sucks. if you want to have fun with her Charm effect you build to her legendary and then you're charming frequently with one of your main offensive abilities.
I feel ya. With some builds though, being able to just wail on enemies and ignore their damage is so good.
There are also the calls good against bosses, and the ones good for encounters. Dyonysus Demeter and Zeus are great for encounters for exemple. Artemis Poseidon ares are good for bosses ( they deal a lot of damage to one particular ennemy )
Well, I would argue Dy De and Zeus are great against both bosses and encounters.
I find that posiedon's aid is damn near useless on keyboard if you are on pc lol
I feel you! A lot of people get a kick out of charming dad :)
@@JawlessPaul Oof
Can confirm, I am that one guy who absolutely love Hade's call
I really discounted his call until I saw some speedrunners use it. +100% damage is crazy good if you trigger it right before a beefy move like rockets or bull rush
@@AtriumComplex agreed, it's not universally great all the time like Athena's or something like that, but when it works it WORKS
I love using Aphrodite’s call at max against bosses. Such a huge chunk of damage
My go to always is anthena and Poseidon so useful in bosses especially Hades laser beams. And fury sisters barrage shots.
Those are great ones! I really enjoy Poseidon's especially. Feels like surfing!
Your videos get me through hades..for that i sub you ma man 👍🏻😄
Hey speedrunner here, Zeus and Dad call are by far the best for speedruns
Also from a high heat perspective, Poseidon call is really good
Thanks for the tips!
I take Aphrodite’s call the least unless it’s late in a run and nothing better has come up. It’s massive full gauge damage is good for final boss as you often get at least 2 full bars during the fight, but for the rest of the run it’s pretty weak
Aphrodite's Aid is S tier for bosses, D tier otherwise
Interrupts and keeps the boss from doing dmg longer than the the invulnerability duration of other calls
If you're doing well and can hold onto the call you can finish off the boss with insane dmg burst
My man going for that sneaky Bastion music!
Aphrodite spam call SAVED me on Hades.....just kept interrupting his attacks
That can certainly work!
Artemis's fully charged aid can literally one shot a whole boss phase. I'd say that can be pretty worth.
It's great for boss battles!
Zeus's call is insane with the right boons, he literally killed hades on his own, not that my damage was trash, it was pretty good, but he did like 70% of the job.
Ps: currently i'm just at heat 2 so beating hades is rare to me :)
Yeah, Zeus is great!
I prefer Artemis’ aid for bosses because it’s quick instance damage so you don’t have to worry about the bosses getting out of dodge, putting up a shield etc etc
It's got some nice burst!
I was JUST YESTERDAY THINKING ABOUT THIS TOPIC! 😂 🙏
That's a great way to think about things!
Artemis is soooo underrated here, like, she does at least 10k damage, but she will most definitely deal way more than that with a full charge. Is a one shot finisher indeed
True! I used Artemis call just the other day to spectacular effect!
In defense of Aphro's call:
If you get the aphro/zeus duo boon, you can simple bully Hades for all the duration of the fight. It's hilarious.
Paul be like “very very good”
Good list. Poseidon has to be my comfort pick. Get out of jail free card with movement speed. Plus it's hilarious slamming enemies into stuff and seeing their health bars disappear.
Poseidon takes top marks for being insanely fun
Very surprised I didn't have the same tier list. Pretty cool to hear other people's opinions and maybe try out different boons.
Cool! What are your top calls?
After seeing this video I think I might have been undervaluing the damage output of calls. But usually I just take the ones that give invulnerability. Probably Athena and Poseidon being my favorite.
Ares' aid can do massive damage when combines with his legendary Boon, however I do agree that in general it's on the weaker side. I also find demeter's call to be extremely weak tbh and I generally avoid it. Also an upgraded Artemis call + heart rend = massive damage
Recap:
Zeus: S
Dionysus: S
Athena: A
Demeter: B+
Poseidon: B
Ares: C
Artemis: C
Aphrodite: C-
Spoiler:
Hades: B?
Thanks! You might be right about the spoiler one...
Dio and Zeus calls are super nice. I'd put Aphrodite at D+ to tbh. Demeter maxed out would move it to A.
It has some nice area control!
