In this video, I appreciate the chance I get to prospect again. The video is short, and the gold is modest. The point is that your work is nothing unless you enjoy it. Go out and have fun, maybe pan a flake or two of some Fresh-Color!

Have you tried Spring Creek? Its between Hill City and Custer and as far as i know there are no active claims but still plenty of gold in it. At one end of Spring Creek theres a huge culvert right at the end where it intersects a T intersection. I cleaned that out for many years. Each spring run off it fills in again and redeposit gold. It should be good. There is another culvert down in the valley on spring creek road and depending on which way you are headed theres a driveway on the creek side that goes down to the creek. The private property and gate should be visible after you cross the culvert and i would clean that one out and find gold using my hand dredge or yabby pump depending on where you are from it has a couple names. If you get boots on the ground you will find the old workings from one end of that creek to the next. I grew up in the Black Hills northwest of Custer on the Limestone road. I moved to Oregon last year. I figured i would let you have my old sweet spots that usually produced well for me since I no longer live there. Someone should definitely take advantage of this long abandoned spot that still has plenty of small gold in it. Theres a feeder creek that flows behind the old Boyd's antiques that dumps into Spring Creek and where those two meet you will find some pretty good gold there. I never found the source of where it is shedding from but it has to be there cause when I worked one area it would always be full again the following spring.
There's a couple of places that you can try. If you need some other ideas there is Ruby Gulch and it has some good gemstone deposits but make sure you do your homework if you go there. Last time i checked there were several active claims in Ruby Gulch. I found red Garnet there the size of golf balls hence the name Ruby Gulch 😊 have fun and stay safe out there. I'm

Really it's a big world lots of creeks and streams.
I am very aware there are other creeks and claims. Just stating that you are not welcome on the claim. We are aware someone has been using it without permission, (not saying you) but charges will be pressed when it is found out who it is.
