So you basically wrote an album's worth of riffs and motifs, demoed an amp inside out, through 18 guitars, on top of some killer playing? Damn you're good.
Yes that's correct. I wrote 50+ minutes of music (about 70+ different segments) with 24 different guitars. Just so that I could focus on my amp demos and other videos and use all those audio/video segments as the music. I figured it was the best way for me to create a lot of content. I'm very glad to hear that you appreciate this :)
Seriously, the best demo I've heard in a long time. With an amp like this you would normally hear detuned metal. I wish people would show all the genres this works well in . I play classic rock and blues for a few decades now. The Peavey ultra can do classic rock and blues very well but finding a footswitch is not as easy as it was 10 years ago lol. Great job
@@SonicDriveStudio It is an awesome job! The amount of information in this video, the quality of the riffs, the tones... I am saving on a playlist so I can get references on the settings :) Great work!
@@SonicDriveStudio some lists of bands that certain riffs were influenced by would be a huge help in chasing more songs to practice. "heavy passive baritone rock" kicks ass
@@SonicDriveStudio Damn you're a beast m@n
All amp demos need to be like this
I second this notion.
Word!
Not everyone has 18 high end guitars 😂 but I agree lol
i think it will require too much work to achieve this !!!!
True!😊
Came for the tones, stayed for the playing.
Thanks for riffin’ instead of wanting to just showing off your soloing skills, really helps rythm players!!
Cheers! I'm more of a rhythm player myself so that's what 99% of my music is like. Glad you dig it!
I’m a punk guitarist soooo, fuck leads 😂😂
I stayed for the playing. The tones were a bonus.
Ok you are literally the best reviewer because you don't just djent or do one certain thing. You do damn near everything. Subbed and liked
Peavey should be paying you man! Best demo of this amp on youtube, and plus it really shows off the wide range of this amp. It's been so pigeonholed into the metal genre people forget that EVH designed this thing to be extremely versatile . It's a great for blues, jazz, pop/rock, classic rock, not just metal.
the clean tone on this thing isn't bad like everybody says it is
Matt Elrod i spent 10 years complaining about the cleans, then i tried something other an EMG, and I realized it wasnt the amp, it was my guitar
@@Ottophil I'd suggest switching to fishman fluence
Matt Elrod i guess you didnt read my comment carefully. A fishman was that pickup, but uh, thanks ? I guess
@@Ottophil oh I misunderstood. My bad dudr
Matt Elrod i got the tosin abasi set, plan on putting them in my other 4 guitars once I have a spare grand laying around
These are actually amazing tones, contrary to what most people would think it puts out.
The 6505 is a much more versatile amp than people give it credit for. Having owned one, I find it very annoying to hear a demo of one that is nothing but heavy chugging. It can do so much more, and do it very well. The rhythm channel with the crunch switch on is one of my favorite amp sounds. I rarely use the lead channel on mine.
I've been lurking the SSO forums for a few months and I've been seeing your videos pop up every now and then.
Honestly, this one of the best guitar gear demo channels out there. Really top notch.
Keep it up my dude!
Thanks so much! See you on the forum!
Agreed man, such high quality stuff
20 years later .. still the best tube amp in the world ^^
6534+ please :)))
@@andrep0wly35 don't have one...
agree completely with you
Oh yes! For the price they are going for! You can’t go wrong
Even though I’m Mesa fan!
@@aaronbuckrell6505 where in Canada?
As someone who primarily plays single coil guitars, I absolutely love the tele and stratocaster portions of these demos!!!
Best demo ever. Man I want one of these. I bet Peavey is happy when Mesa Boogie comes out with their $2000-$3000 or more heads ...meanwhile this Peavey amp kills !!!
The clean sound of this amp is under appreciated. Sounds beautiful! The first time I played through mine I had so much fun with the clean tones. I already knew it was a beast for dirty tones, so I just got lost in the cleans for a while.
I have one coming in the post but from what I have heard online including this very video I absolutely love the cleans. They have a dark crunchy warmth I really love
really digging how you got a riff for every tone without getting boring. i even like styles i usually don't like when listening to you. awesome tone demos and awesome playing! keep it up❤️
Crazy good production quality and amazing demo! It’s my first and only tube amp and it’s amazing to hear it have so many different sound profiles. Thank you!
Thank you for such an incredible job and for taking the time to do this. You are the riff master!!
I love this style of demo. Nice and quick, all the relevant information displayed, and a nice variety of genres and guitars. Great video!
Holy crap, what an epic collection of tones. This is a tremendous video. 6505 FTW
That heavy passive baritone rock riff might just be the best riff I've ever heard, period.
One of the best demos of anything on UA-cam. Those riffs were super tasty
Dude I listened to that first riff and just hit the like button. Awesome/unique review on an amp that still deserves the love! Great playing
Easily the best video on UA-cam showing this versatility!! 🤘🏻
This video is ridiculously good. Thanks for making and sharing. I especially love your lead phrasing. It doesn't sound like you're cloning anyone in particular. Great stuff.
What a demo. Incredible. Thanks for your effort here.
Dude!!! Very very very tasty riffing! The baritone guitars and your style they bring out is awesome. And long live the mighty peavey!
That clean tone was a breath of fresh air. I get so tired of everyone saying that the only good clean tone is a Fender one. Generic much? Yes, Fender has a great clean tone but how homogenized does the music need to be in order to please people's need for the "Holy Grail" of clean tones that supposedly only can come from a Fender amp. And brother, not all Fender amps throughout their years have the same level of quality clean tone.
The Peavey has a great clean sound. I own an original 5150 and love it. That said, Fender really is THE clean tone. It just is. But, the complainers either don't know how to tone shape (MANY are clueless) or they should just buy a Fender. But, saying the clean channel "sucks" just reflects ignorance.
My Orange Rv50 had an amazing, almost Fender like clean tone.
What an incredible job done here !!! Bravo Monsieur.
Sub'd.
This vid shows more versatility in tone for the 6550 than any other ten 6550 vids combined.
Great sound.
Fabulous playing.
What an awesome project undertaking, I appreciate you man. Fantastic video!
One of the best amp reviews ever. Nice Job 👍🏻
Wow. That last groove seriously hits
I'm legit going to learn a lot of your riffs. These demos are pretty good for that!
One of the best demos on yt! Thanks man
Best channel for amp and guitar demos on You Tube.Period!!
11:02
The passive boosted metal tone here is fucking SICK. This demo is next level. You are the MAN.
Found this a few months after i bought a used 5150 sig font head. This makes me love my decision even more :) Great tones, awesome amp. cool guitars! That's where it all depends, it's not just the amp settings & speakers, but the guitar & pickups that dictate the tone you're after. Amazing work, keep it up!
amazing playing, and some of the best tones i have ever heard.
7 String Cleans and Solo Leads are the absolute best from any vid you make! Love that playing and love the sound!
This was unbelievable, great tones and playing, fun start to finish.
Literally the best demo of any gear I've ever seen.
Really really really good! Great demo and amazing tones and playing. Well done buddy! Keep up the great work.
Everything what i heard in this video is entertaining and its fit for my musical taste. Thank you! Instant subscribe.
One of the best demos. Cause you show all styles on your videos !
Well played sir!
Greetings from Germany
Big Mike
Man excellent job. Sound samples in a full mix right out of the gate.
Superb video! Different styles, tones, and guitars abound. Makes me want to get a 6505. The amp sounds beautiful
The best part about this video? You don't spend 20 minutes talking on and on about the amp and settings and all the other crap that people who like to listen to themselves talk on this website do. Thank you so much.
This is the most in dept demo ever. Great stuff.
Dude, all these tones sound great! Of course you’re a great player and that has a lot to do with our tone.
damn... I love how you dial this amp with your JB/59 set and the Fender Tele. thanks for sharing, man.
Been waiting for this one! Awesome vid as usual!
Badass riffs and playing bro. Great demo
This is the best video on UA-cam! Holy farrrrrrrkin hell I loved it!!!! Dude are they all your riffs??? Fucking amazing!
Best amp demo ever. Well done!
Hi
Amazing playing, super sounds and of course colossal work! Just wow!!!
The lead and crunch channel really come alive with a boost
Very nice demo, great tone and playing. Keep it up!
You rock so hard Jon, Amazing tunes and tones.
Ohh loved that little ditty on the clean with the tele
Holy smoking BAT SHIT bro!!!!!! Is our UA-cam for good demo/guitar playing vids and I have to say, I absolutely love not only your style and creativity of playing, but your personality that you are putting into what you’re creating. That was some of the catchiest heavy riffing and some of the most beautiful clean playing I’ve ever heard! I wish I could pay you to teach me lessons.
This is an absolutely incredible demo holy shit
Really great demo something unique and very helpful for seeing what you can do with this amp
Great playing and review.
You honestly sold me on the 6505....again. I had the 6505+ back in the day and loved it. I never realized it was as versatile as it is because I have always used EMG's and mostly just played metal. Now I'm off to find another!
What a fantastic review! Kudos!
Great great great amps. I love my 6505+. Ridiculously awesome tone for the money.
Very cool, man!
Awesome and various playing
This vid is super good (like all of your demos). The tones were damn good and man production is mfing great. Kind of surprised by how by how versatile the 6505 is, but you do know how to get good tones for multiple things out of just about any amp on the planet
Awesome demo. Great job!
Awesome video...adding 6505 back in my wishlist ... always love the amp
Thank you for this video! I found a 6505+ for a great price and I was worried it wouldn't be versatile enough! Everyone of these tones sounded great! I'm gonna pull the trigger and buy it!
Dude these riffs are so sick
I m totally blown away .....the tone😍😍😍😍
Awesome playing man love your style bro 🤙🏽
Wow ! A reference for all 6505 users like me :):) Thanks a lot !!!!!
holy mother of god! that thick tele tone is so good
Awesome video man! Love how you show how dynamic this beast is. Yes, it is a high gain monster but it’s also everything in between. Subscribed! Probably my favorite amp in the world for the sounds you get for the price. But I have the Invective 120 and I f*ck*n love it with all my heart lol
So magical riffs!
Man if i get this amp i will literally refer to this video for amp settings when i need a particular tone. You da man.
Sounds fantastic. Nails the 80’s sound.
Watching this from Peavey Headquarters! Killer demo!
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice work on this demo, man. Really well done! Hard to get a bad tone out of the Peavey 5150/6505(+)!!!!
Love you man, 'cause of all these... It's unique, like a new album!!! Came 'cause of amp, I want to buy Valveking II 50W, stayed 'cause of playing!
Super professional on every level
I honestly didn’t expect your guitar playing to be so versatile in different styles of genres. I am a fender twin reverb guy now wanting to try a peavey amp...
I love the 6505 series.... very versatile.... cleans are ok and everything else is wonderful... clean channel takes pedals very nicely
mate LOVE the methodology here!! great stuff man!
What a great player/composer thanks for your music.
I love this video..all sounds were awesome !
I love the 6505 and the 6505+, for me, they are the perfect amps!
Killer playing, sir.
6505 plus + tube screamer = heaven
You do a great job on your demos. Professional and thorough. I have a 6505 coming next week. I've had a 6505+ and a 5150 sig but sold them after getting my Mark IV. I can't wait to have one again
Just curious, why do you prefer the original over the +?
@@jamesstrickland5387 well I couldn't find a regular 6505 so I just recently got another 6505+ but I am trading it for an 05. Some people prefer the plus but to me the regular 5150/6505 seems a bit more raw sounding. It's not a night a day difference but it's there.
Excellent playing!
love it love it love it!! great vid, thanks!
I was wondering, did you buy an IR pack from Ownhammer, or bought individual IR’s. Thanks!
Sounds killer as always bro \m/
As others said: Stayed for the awesome playing!
Dat`s some quality content! Very Nice.
sounds amazing dude! \m/
Great playing!!!
