    Lamb of God's drumwork is beastly. The guitarwork is face melting. The bass that brings them together is god-like.

      Nick Jarvis Art Cruz is obviously no Adler but I mean he’s doing something near impossible and attempting to replicate Chris’s sound yes it’s missing a lot of the complexity and subtleties that made Chris so great but you can’t dispute that Cruz isn’t an incredibly talented drummer

      @Nick Jarvis memento mori and new colossal are both really good. I didnt like checkmate that much either but the people still complaining dont like it simply because Adler isnt on the track, which is pretty dumb.

      @Nick Jarvis
      Art Cruz kicks ass in his new position, it sucks that Chris had to leave but it's not like he parted on bad terms. Lamb of God still sounds like Lamb of God.

    Randy's lyrics are often introspective, self critical and painfully honest. The man is thought provoking and opinionated but not self righteous, I have nothing but admiration for him and his bandmates.

    2:48 The drum fill that you seem to be referring to is played as follows:
    RLRLKKRLRLKKRLRLKKRLRLKKRLKKR+L
    Essentially, Chris Adler is playing 4 32nd notes with his hands followed by 2 32nd notes with his feet and he repeats that 4 times, followed by a modification of the pattern where he plays 4 32nd notes (2 with hands, 2 with feet) and finishes with an accented strike of the snare and a crash cymbal. From there, he just moves around the kit. Here are the drums he uses (approximately) with dashes separating counts
    S = snare
    H = high rack tom
    M = mid rack tom
    L = low rack tom
    F = floor tom
    K = kick drum
    C = crash + snare
    SHSHKKMH-MHKKLMLM-KKFLFLKK-SSKKC
    It looks super confusing if you’re not a drummer and not used to seeing this sort of stuff, but it becomes pretty easy with practice.

      I think that in some way he feels guilty for what happened, even if he isn't criminally guilty, and honestly I can understand him because he's such a good person. I would have felt guilty too if I pushed a moron off the stage and then he falls on his head and dies.

    I love Lamb of God, my top 3 favorite bands. Randy's vocals are incredible, Adler's drumming is, in my opinion, unmatched and can't say enough about guitar rifts, insane all the way around. Please check out the album Ashes of the Wake. Not a bad song on it, Blood of the Scribe is a must, Omertà, amazing. Lyrically on point, musically phenomenal. So happy you're turned on to them, they are under rated and way under appreciated. Digging your reaction😜😎🙀

      Juan Jose Saavedra first I'm 52 years old and even though my friends listen to metal and rock, they don't listen to Lamb of God and a lot of people my age never got into slam or the other genres of metal that generations under us are into. Second, I've never, ever once heard them played on a NY radio station. They've gotten no exposure at all on any mainstream stations here. When they tour in NY, it's in the smaller venues (which is awesome for me) but never in a large venue. It's a shame, even Pantera rarely got played, except for Walk and on a rare occasion, Cowboys From Hell. The only reason I got turned on to them was because I listened to Static X from their start and my kids loved it, my son got into all sorts of amazing bands so I credit him for turning me on to Lamb. I'm glad to hear that where your from they get more exposure.

    Machine Head - Aesthetics of Hate
    This song has a backstory you can appreciate. The following is copied straight from Wikipedia:"Aesthetics of Hate" was written by Machine Head vocalist and guitarist Robb Flynn. It was written as a retaliation to an article by William Grim for the web site Iconoclast. Titled "Aesthetics of Hate: R.I.P. Dimebag Abbott, & Good Riddance", Grim wrote the article stating Darrell was "part of a generation that has confused sputum with art and involuntary reflex actions with emotion", "an ignorant, barbaric, untalented possessor of a guitar" who looks "more simian than human".[1]
    After reading the article, Flynn was furious and wrote "Aesthetics of Hate" as a condemnation of Grim's article, and Dimebag detractors. He wrote a message on the band's forum expressing his friendship with Darrell and spoke about Grim:
    "What would YOU know about love or values? What would YOU know about giving to the world? All that you know is teaching prejudice, and your heart is as black as the 'ignorant, filthy, and hideously ugly, heavy metal fans' you try and paint in your twisted, fictitious ramblings. It's because of people like YOU, that there are Nathan Gales in this world, NOT the Dimebags and metal musicians who work to unite people through music."
    - Robert Flynn

    "Hands are painted red" This is because randy was found guilty of the death of a member in the audience after throwing the stage crasher off the stage when he was rushed and was arrested at the airport. The young man died in hospital later due to head injuries. The band and label, Randy included was not made aware until they returned the country years later. This is the reason for his time in jail there. He took the situation to the core of his being and did not try to play it down. And this reflects in the song. Randy we love you and you are a vocal and lyrical god among men.

    Randy wrote an entire book about his time in prison and the experience. It really is an incredible story if you're interested in looking further into it. He talks about the problems such as language barriers, unfamiliarity with foreign laws, and the fact that he had no idea he was wanted for manslaughter until returning to the country years later and being arrested on sight, having very little memory of the show in question. He touches briefly on the history of the prison itself which I thought was really cool (guillotine rooms and such, been a while since I read the book). "512" was one of his cell numbers

    Such a great band. Randy’s got the best screams in metal. Chris is a machine on drums. Mark and Willie write some of the best riffs I’ve ever heard. They’re a completely unique band. No one sounds like them.

      If you're going to do Mercyful Fate you must do it from one of must-have metal albums of the 80's - Don't Break The Oath. As well as great songs (take your pick ... A Dangerous Meeting, Come to the Sabbath, Night of the Unborn, Desecration of Souls, The Oath, Gypsy), it has much better production and sound quality.
