This album would be great for a full album reaction since it's a concept album with a continuous story. Brittney even uploaded a song-by-song explanation video series where she explains each songs meaning and how they fit into the story.
If you haven't done it I highly recommend you go listen to the album from the beginning to end with the lyrics pulled up. Afterwards watch brittneys video series and then listen to it again!

Never heard UtA till this video, was impressed but saw lots of comments praising their latest album Apex, listened through it 2 days ago and now just can't stop putting it on repeat, soooo good!

If you decide to revisit Unleashed the Archers again, I highly recommend their video for Cleanse the Bloodlines or Tonight We Ride. Both amazing songs, and Cleanse the Bloodlines is from their most recent album, which is also what Awakening is from. Tonight We Ride has a cool Mad Max visual asthetic in the video and some high energy

See, this is why I'm loving Unleash the Archers.
They have not 1 but 2 death metal growlers (I guess just having one wasn't enough?) but then they have the always amazing Brittany Slayes and her voice just completely outbadasses the growls and they just fade into the background because I tune them out to focus on just hearing Brittany and the band.

Whole ,,Demons of AstroWaste" is an concept album and tells story and that's why this song don't have hidden meaning to it. It tells part of the story from the album

the thing that gets me the most is how polished this song and video is, and it was all done when they were still an unsigned indie band... I loved this album in particular for years and when I saw the news that they were signed to Napalm it was such an awesome feeling, they totally deserved it

Realy?, dunno, compared to Awakening with this High Octane shred and vocals, i find this song kinda weak, still cool, but way toned down compared to what i've heard of them before...
@@Mugthraka Same... this song sounded like a demo or b-side compared to Awakening. That guitar noodling in the beginning sounded really amateur and her vocals needed some reverb or something to bring them out.

I just got to experience 2 UtA sets and a meet and greet on 70000 tons of metal,they were amazing live, played all of Apex over 2 sets, but also super cool and happy Canadanese

On one hand it's a shame that there isn't a video for it, but on the other hand the lack of visual input makes you focus more on the music and the lyrics. It's a musical journey like 3 or 4 amazing songs got mashed together beautifully, truly a testament to UtA's skills in musicianship and composition. I trust you can do the song justice with one of your excellent reactions!
I love this music video and song. It was inspiration for me to write a short story about a Black Knight. I think it was very powerful to have a combination of fantastic instrumentation, solid lyrics, and a music video that ties it all together with a story told through visuals only. From my own interpretation, even including the title of the song, this seems to be about what used to be a knight of light, a protector of good (we see this when the ring the woman is wearing triggers him to remember his beloved).
Somewhere along the line, he's corrupted, through what means we don't know. In the current state (where the music video primarily takes place) he is chasing after a man and woman. Possibly people escaping from a town that's being razed by the dark army? They're unable to outrun him, so the man decides to stay and fight. In the lyrics, it talks all about the power he wields and of course it is too much to defend against. After killing the man, he goes to kill the woman and the vision of his past is triggered.
It's a beautiful reminder of what was once a shining light in his life. But then he relives the killing of his beloved and it turns to darkness, encouraging his dark side to destroy and annihilate everything. He's brought back as the woman is about to strike him, finishing his dark task.

The General of the Dark Army plays the lead role of the video, where he kills a couple insignificant peasants. It describes his merciless nature, as well as showing some of the background and trauma that lead to him being what he is. It's some Punisher-meets-Castlevania levels of "fuck the universe", I think.
