Metal is so underrated to the mainstream. Instumental talent is unbelievable, and the lyrics are not always what they seem or what people assume they are.
You're right for most of the bands. Cannibal Corpse however, is, thanks to Ace Ventura, a "well-known-metal-band" and I have never, ever found anything deep in the CC lyrics. Hence the prejudice of many main stream people.
i get the asked how i can listen to it when its just noise or screaming death into a mic all the time and pisses me off because there is so much more to it unlike most other popular or trending genres of music these days
Lamb of Gods vocalist has a way of bringing out the lyrics when he screams. Its unique to him. I love when I can tell who the vocalist based on their screams, and Randy is one of them. Just even from a musically point of view, this song is written well.
Lamb of gods my favorite band his gdd of war style lows is what make him unique(imagine him singing this) TEe reaSOOOON......... You cAAAAn......... UN...DER....STAND IS THAT HE O...VER...PRO.NOUNCES EV.....ER.Y WooooRD
Chris adler is probably one of the best drummers of all time. His complex rhythns and his technique on the bass drum is insane. Played drums for 10 years now and still am not even a fraction of how insane of a drummer Chris is!
Last time I went to a Lamb of God concert people were lighting piles of t-shirts on fire in the moshpit and running around them in circles, lol true story😂 keep up the good work on the videos man!
You know he's not a metal head because when that breakdown hit... No headbanging just head shaking quickly hahaha I'm glad even though it isn't your genre you showed it respect. Thx for that man not a lot of people who aren't metal heads would ever admit there's something to enjoy about it even if it isn't their taste.
Lamb of god changed my life. They helped me make it through a really nasty divorce and custody battle. That song has such deep and personal meaning to me and it made me happy to watch you witness it. I have their logo tattooed along my forearm for the whole world to see. Thank you for making this video and taking time to understand a band that means so much to so many people.
I saw them at the very first Knotfest when Randy had just been released from prison in Prague and they were uncertain whether LOG was gonna play or not. He got released a day or two before Knotfest and LOG played. Most amazing experience in my life.
No one likes it at first, but keep listening to the ashes of the wake album and the sacrament album and soon you will explore the different albums and you will grow to love Lamb of God
Funnily enough Chris Adler apparently didn't like that song cause it "wasn't heavy enough" as they drew some inspiration from blues music. I find that insane as I love that song... Shows how heavy Chris is! Haha
I like the lyrics of this song a lot, depending on personal interpretation. For me it’s a bit brutally honest - sometimes, life is just going to be like hell. Sure, there are orders of magnitude to everyone’s personal situations, but if you’ve ever had “the best day of your life”, you’ve also had to have had a worst. To me the lyrics are about the power and confidence to endure “hell”, taking their hands and walking with it. Because come your inevitable worst day, only the power of persistence really saves you. Mighty not be exactly what it was actually written about, but it’s what I took from it. Also Chris Adler is a fucking beast. Fight me.
They are one of many bands in metal that are known for their pit circles. They are insane. Also Chris Adler best living drummer in metal in my opinion. Killedelphia album listen to the song Now you have Something to die for. Philly was nuts that night they recorded the whole set raw and uncut.
It all starts here. Not everyone starts off liking the grown type singing but it does grow on you. It expresses a lot of emotion in it. You should for sure go to a metal show and at least try being in the outskirts of a moshpit. It's really a lot of fun. Mostly just pushing people around or checking into people but you get out a lot of aggression and can step out if it gets too much, catch your breath, and jump back in. Most of the time people are so full of Adrenalin that they just go crazy in there. I would suggest a smaller mosh before a mosh like at a LOG show. lol You should totally check out Descending from Lamb Of God.
As far as live performance intensity, you sir are correct. After the first time I saw them that was it I was hooked, 4 or 5 more times since then. Ya know you lose count when your hammered and wired to go off.
People think mosh pits are bad, metal fans are so amazing, if you fall in a mosh pit, they grab you off the ground and toss you back up to your feet, seriously dude metal fans = loyalty to each other and to the bands they love
When I was younger, I didn't like music this heavy at first, but the instrumental aspect kept me listening. Over time, I learned to absolutely love the deep vocals, just try to think of them as another instrument, as it takes a LOT of talent to do well. Lamb of God continues to deliver fantastic albums, and this is definitely one of their best. This song is one of those amazing "pump up" songs, and the whole album is worth listening to if you enjoyed this!
I've been a fan for a minute. Somehow, just now coming upon this video. The fact that you threw that Mitch Hedberg giggle in there makes me LOVE this channel that much more. I always love seeing someone else appreciate what he had to offer.
Edward Phillips probably because they are on tour together right now so any recent pics in Google searches probably bring up those images. And him not knowing LoG he wouldn't know who Kerry is.
Most people who aren't already into metal aren't gonna like Cannibal Corpse. Probably easier to ease him into some metalcore or something before dropping the Cannibal Corpse on him. Not to say I don't agree with your song choice. Just that realistically, he wouldn't dig it haha
Love this song!! As you were talking about Mark Morton and his wife losing their daughter, he actually wrote a song about that called Embers. Now, this song is one of my favorites by them and has a feature by another vocalist, Chino Moreno from the Deftones (another favorite band of mine) and I think you'd appreciate that song. When I first heard Embers, I instantly loved the song. When the video was released, Mark Morton explained the song lyrics and back story of it, and I was heartbroken. I love how artists can turn that pain and loss and turn it into something beautiful.
Listen to Blackwater Park by Opeth. The version on The Roundhouse Tapes is the best. Opeth is Progressive Death Metal, but this song has something for everyone.
Eh, in most other genres its generally true that people mainly care about the vocalist, which is a shame. I would argue that in metal though all aspects of a song are generally seen as equally important, not that just vocals or drums/guitar are the most important, or even that any are way more important than any of the others. Just my .02
Saw these guys two days ago, and damn near broke my neck to this very song. Randy is such an amazing front man and the instruments to back it up make you just wanna go crazy!!!
Have you tried listening to Swedish Metal? May I recommend a band called Meshuggah. Try to listen to the track entitled "Rational Gaze". It's an oldie and I think it was remastered a few times.
Lamb of God is one of my favorite bands. Let me set your mind at ease... No one likes those vocals at first. I mean, sure, they do kind of resonate with this primal rage, so some people might like the aggressive nature right off the bat, but mostly, no. I didn't like it at first either. But man, the music is absolutely stellar. After listening to it over and over again I started screaming along with the songs in my car as I was driving to work. I'll be honest too, I'm not a HUGE fan of those types of vocals. Randy Blythe (the lead singer) just has a unique style and it sounds better to me. While I can listen to Lamb of God all day.. I can't say the same for.. like... Cradle of Filth.
I love how you're going right in with live videos, and being blown away by the audience. Believe me, watching a crowd is phenomenal, and will get your blood going, but someone please, please get this kid to a concert. You haven't lived until you're in the thick of it, feeling the music and the bodies moving. It's not like being on a dance floor, it's far more raw and intense. I've seen Lamb of god once, and there were more people watching the pits than the band. My husband said it's one of the best crowds he's ever seen. The last heavy show I got to go to was Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, and it was breath taking. Literally. I had my google fitness thing going on, and it gave me an alert afterwards that I had gone for an hour and a half bike ride. Now, I'm not a small person by any means. That being said, for an hour of that show, I had moved halfway across the venue, and I never lifted my feet. I was seriously boosted about five inches off the ground by the sheer force of the bodies. TLDR: GET TO A METAL CONCERT and get in the middle of it. Don't worry about the pits, you can steer clear very easily, but get in there and feel it.
Randy isn't even a metal head though, his background is in punk and he admits to this day he doesn't listen to metal. LoG have a HUGE background in punk and it shows in how they've structured their music the past 20 years.
I know this video is old. I love coming back and watching some of your older reactions. If you think they are intense. Go see them live, start to finish nothing but chaos and energy for days!!!! They are by far my favorite metal band to see live. Most fun i’ve ever had at a show. Keep up the awesome videos Alex. I enjoy watching them!
Dude, there is nothing more united in the music business than the metal community, welcome my friend! BTW, react to the brazilian band "Angra - Spread Your Fire".
Daniel Rodney or go way back to death in fire... That tapping solo in tasty. Or cry of the black birds my favorite. Guardians of aasgard is a good one as well
John Jag Any of those would be great, though I think the Guardians of Asgaard video would have more for Alex to react to. Ngl I'd be happy with any Amon Amarth song, especially one from Versus the World
I was extremely lucky enough to see not just Lamb of God, but also Anthrax, Obituary, and Slayer on Slayer's farewell tour. They decided to do a second round of the UK, so I managed to see their last ever show in Scotland. Such a fantastic show, really emotional at the end.
Dude, your face anytime you see a metal concert crowd is hysterical! Meanwhile the metal heads here are all looking at that like, yeah I can go for some of that right now \m/
I just came from your other LOG song to see what the first one you heard and was so happy that it's this one. That second verse with the deep growls are amazing
Lamb of God is the band that I got in love with as soon as I heard them. I love Descending- LOG. This God that i worship, this demon i blame; conspired as one, exactly the same, it's exactly the same.
Old metal head lady here...you haven't LIVED of you haven't seen some of these bands in show. Lamb of God was a full body experience. Took me a couple days to recover, but worth it!
i dont see that anyone has said this. but so many comments. interesting fact. The vocalist, Randy, started singing like that as a joke. he didnt want to be in a metal band. he's heavy into the punk rock scene. this is why a lot of their lyrics focus on world/political issues.
Yo man just found yur channel and diggin it. Nice to see another southern bro appreciting different/new types of music. Always been into metal and punk, and hip-hops been a big part of my life in more recent years. Suggest you check out some As I Lay Dying, Bad Religion, Underoath, Strung Out, Dead Kennedy's....the list goes on...also look into some ska-punk as well
I've never listened to a Lamb of God song ever in my life. May 11th, I went to the Slayer concert in Irvine and Lamb of God played before Slayer, and when they placed this song, I instantly got hooked. This song is FUCKING good. And that's coming from someone who's never listened to them before the concert
I just started a death / deathcore band this was the first we covered Because i have a friend who loved lamb of god met randy and the andler brothers stay metal alex!!!
I met my wife through this song. I posted partial lyrics on facebook and she finished them. Been together ever since 😎
Lost In The Woods awesome :)
Lost In The Woods Noice
Lost In The Woods sounds like you found your soulmate
Essa Quadry Indeed. Got lucky on that 😀
God bless you both 👌
Metal is so underrated to the mainstream. Instumental talent is unbelievable, and the lyrics are not always what they seem or what people assume they are.
sherman614 fucking preach it
You're right for most of the bands.
It was mainstream in the 80s but it was basically black metal that forced it back underground
sherman614 totally agree!!
Why is Kerry king in the thumbnail 🤣🤣
Will Martian short answer: I’m stupid 😂
Alex Hefner 😂
I guess it's because the riff in 4:41 sounds a lot like Raining blood intro. I guess it was inspired.
What I'm saying
Love me some Lamb of God, but Kerry Fucking King was the only reason I clicked this video instead if saving it for later.
Lamb of Gods vocalist has a way of bringing out the lyrics when he screams. Its unique to him. I love when I can tell who the vocalist based on their screams, and Randy is one of them.
Just even from a musically point of view, this song is written well.
He’s a great vocalist for sure
Lamb of gods my favorite band his gdd of war style lows is what make him unique(imagine him singing this)
TEe reaSOOOON.........
You cAAAAn.........
UN...DER....STAND
IS THAT HE O...VER...PRO.NOUNCES EV.....ER.Y WooooRD
Chris adler is probably one of the best drummers of all time. His complex rhythns and his technique on the bass drum is insane. Played drums for 10 years now and still am not even a fraction of how insane of a drummer Chris is!
Chris is awesome but I still think Dave Lombardo takes the cake there
Too bad he's retired man I just love his double kick beat ❤
not best but stylish he created his own way.
Your supposed to throwdown when breakdowns hit not headbang.
True this
I'm a metal head, but I limit my head banging a bit, to preserve my brain. Don't need to wind up like Muhammed Ali. But yeah, metal gud.
"You're never alone, walk with me in hell", this is the spirit guys ...
So happy that I saw this in person! Nothing...nothing beats a Live show when it comes to Metal.
Komplete Darkness listen to Laid to rest album 2 times a week minimum....
It is a standard when I need to crank out reports for work.
jstan83 I listen to wrath, sacrament, hourglass vol.2, ashes of the wake, and sturm und drang albums.
what do you mean with 'nobody likes it at first'?
Gonzo HxC Rarely anyone is obsessed with it at first.
Ashes of the Wake was my intro to them and still my favorite LoG album
3:45 Dogs getting pumped up, probably moshing😂
The lyrics are really cool for this song. "Hope dies in hands of believers, who look for the truth in liars eyes." That line always gave me chills
Nooo dude you have to do descending by lamb of god. Its so badass the double bass is sick
Funnily enough Chris Adler apparently didn't like that song cause it "wasn't heavy enough" as they drew some inspiration from blues music. I find that insane as I love that song... Shows how heavy Chris is! Haha
And this double bass wasn't sick? Didn't you hear the outro?
David Brown this is my absolute favorite band and song
Foot to the throat is another good one
Love the song.
Mighty not be exactly what it was actually written about, but it’s what I took from it.
Also Chris Adler is a fucking beast. Fight me.
You may like to know that this song is about the rise and fall of codependency
pantera domination live in Moscow
Norbert Asztalos that breakdown makes me wanna start a fight for no reason
YES
Fuck yes! Best fking song ever!
Pantera X RATM drag the waters is one of my favorites
well yes but the solo the breakdown is unbelievable
They are one of many bands in metal that are known for their pit circles. They are insane. Also Chris Adler best living drummer in metal in my opinion. Killedelphia album listen to the song Now you have Something to die for. Philly was nuts that night they recorded the whole set raw and uncut.
I fucking love lamb of god this one song brought me into more of a heavier genre this is a oldie but never gets old
i quite enjoyed it!
Yeah bro I've listened to every LOG album thousands of times and this is one track that just rapes my ears every time . Classic of the ages
It all starts here. Not everyone starts off liking the grown type singing but it does grow on you. It expresses a lot of emotion in it. You should totally check out Descending from Lamb Of God.
Josh Sanabria 2005 is an oldie?
Omerta.
Drummer and guitarist are brothers. This is what happens with that dynamic. Precision perfection.
When he goes deep for “oh now witness the end of an age” I get chills every time.
Lamb of God is the greatest band since Pantera. And, yes, that IS a fact!
M McBride you skipped pantera, thats ok ,its rare but it happens
As far as live performance intensity, you sir are correct. After the first time I saw them that was it I was hooked, 4 or 5 more times since then. Ya know you lose count when your hammered and wired to go off.
“Makes me want to bash my head against the wall” wait until you find out what the wall of death is...
Next do laid to rest by LOG
Garrett Nelson YESSS
Another oldie, but goodie!
Yasssssss
This is my favorite band lamb of god american pure metal
People think mosh pits are bad, metal fans are so amazing, if you fall in a mosh pit, they grab you off the ground and toss you back up to your feet, seriously dude metal fans = loyalty to each other and to the bands they love

Flying Whales by Gojira ^^
love that song.
THIS. so good.
Yes yes yes
im on it
Quick bro
A metal masterpiece! 🤘 Do 512 next if you're gonna do more Lamb of God :)
The cell-number of Randy when he was in Prison, i gues it was in Rep. Czech ;)
Yes 512 is fuckin amazing
That song is my favorite LoG song. It gripped me and never let go
512 is probably a bit unsettling, melodically, for someone who doesn't like metal to really appreciate.
Its groovy as hell though. He might appreciate it.
I've been a fan for a minute. Somehow, just now coming upon this video. The fact that you threw that Mitch Hedberg giggle in there makes me LOVE this channel that much more. I always love seeing someone else appreciate what he had to offer.
Instrumentally, this song is beautiful
You should do lamb of God omerta
James Hill anything from them really
Thats a fuckin knuckle buster. By which I mean I punch stuff when I hear that song.
*stuff* not people. I don't support intentional violence in the pit.
I love lamb on god. Try vigil, hour glass, or 11th hour.
Yes!!! Omerta is an ALL TIME favorite of mine!!!
Why does the thumb nail have a picture of Kerry King?
Edward Phillips probably because they are on tour together right now so any recent pics in Google searches probably bring up those images. And him not knowing LoG he wouldn't know who Kerry is.
I was thinking the same thing
You should listen to mushroomhead. I would recommend solitaire/unraveling, sun doesn't rise, or qwerty for a first listen
Shaneman1220 what you know about mushroomhead? Haha jokes. For sure listen to some mushroomhead...give him the video for QWERTY..its pretty messed up
Def Solitaire/Unraveling
Qwerty all the way
Shaneman1220 Mushroomhead is garbage
I agree with everything up to Qwerty, imo, their worst song
Nice to see Kerry King playing for Lamb of God!!!😂
Seeing them perform this live was fucking amazing!!
Donovan Barr hell yeaaa
Lamb of god is a fucking death sentence. A really intense, fun, and badass as fuck death sentence
Got to see them twice and they easily put on the best shows out of most metal bands.
JINJER - Pisces (Live Session) - React to this you will be surprised
Alexandre Araújo Don't ruin the surprise xD Say it's a beautiful ballad haha
We have to make sure he reacts to live session version
Yes please i need to see you react to this masterpiece 😱
Ohh yes please react to this!
YES
Oh you want deep growls? I got you. Cannibal Corpse - Eviseration Plague
stripped raped and strangled is way better tho imo
Bryan Dwyer, The heaviest song ever made. One of the best songs in the history of death metal.
That's nothing. Mouth sewn prophets by signs of the swarm
Bryan Dwyer Absolutely Agreeable 🤘👍😊
Most people who aren't already into metal aren't gonna like Cannibal Corpse. Probably easier to ease him into some metalcore or something before dropping the Cannibal Corpse on him. Not to say I don't agree with your song choice. Just that realistically, he wouldn't dig it haha
Doomsday by Architects
Or anything by Architects for that matter! Such a sick band
Sevi Metal Architects are so fucking good
I enjoyed so much how you react in amazement to metal. Especially this song that I sing on my way to the office every day
Love this song!! I love how artists can turn that pain and loss and turn it into something beautiful.
That's Kerry King from Slayer in the stock pic for the video. Another great band you should react to later
That Fat Guy ahhh shit
Alex Hefner Slayer - Raining Blood
That Fat Guy,War
Ensemble or World painted blood..
That Fat Guy “Dead Skin Mask” “Temptation” “Behind the Crooked Cross” “Mandatory Suicide”!
Listen to Blackwater Park by Opeth. The version on The Roundhouse Tapes is the best. Opeth is Progressive Death Metal, but this song has something for everyone.
Blase Wolf yesss
I like your vids a lot man. It's good you are giving guitars and drums some credit. It's way more important than vocal in metal
Eh, in most other genres its generally true that people mainly care about the vocalist, which is a shame. gotta give em credit!
Saw these guys two days ago, and damn near broke my neck to this very song. Randy is such an amazing front man and the instruments to back it up make you just wanna go crazy!!!
Walk With Me In Hell is such a masterpiece, the groove riff, the solo, the lyrics, awesome.
Gojira - The Heaviest Matter of the World
Михаил Щербини it's Universe, not world
Cant wait for this reaction!! Haha I can already imagine his face XD
i think you mean The Heaviest Matter in the universe
*in the universe
Михаил Щербинин how dare you butcher the song title created by gods
Have you tried listening to Swedish Metal? May I recommend a band called Meshuggah. Try to listen to the track entitled "Rational Gaze". It's an oldie and I think it was remastered a few times.
You gotta be a real metal head to appreciate Meshugga, this guy's just getting his feet wet!
Meshuggah is the pinnacle of technical music
Carlo Lipardo didn't he already do avatar though.
he should start with demiurge, its not too in-your-face, but technical and heavy as hell
Lamb of God is one of my favorite bands. Let me set your mind at ease... No one likes those vocals at first. I mean, sure, they do kind of resonate with this primal rage, so some people might like the aggressive nature right off the bat, but mostly, no.

I can't say the same for.. like... Cradle of Filth.
i feel like with time i will appreciate it much more! great comment my man
You can't really compare lamb of God and cradle of filth, just due to the genre difference. But I understand where you are coming from haha
TWILIGHT OF THE THUNDERGOD- AMON AMARTH
I love how you're going right in with live videos, and being blown away by the audience. Believe me, watching a crowd is phenomenal, and will get your blood going, but someone please, please get this kid to a concert. Maybe you'd also enjoy Fire From The Gods - Excuse Me (The band is Rap metal)
Closet Deludo good fucking suggestion

Cradle of filth- her ghost in the fog. Dani filth is the sickest lyricist ever

The entire Sound Of Perseverance album is a masterpiece. Any track will do.
This song has kept me alive a few times.
This was one I hope you herd, favorite song by them, big fan🤘 keep em coming man.
“Oh my ass”
Randy isn't even a metal head though, his background is in punk and he admits to this day he doesn't listen to metal. LoG have a HUGE background in punk and it shows in how they've structured their music the past 20 years.
No he did not like metal until he found slayer
keepperi, wow that's interesting. I love cob
It's been 30 years since you last reacted to something cool
Dude I’m binge watching all you metal reactions right now haha love this stuff
I know this video is old. I love coming back and watching some of your older reactions. If you think they are intense. Go see them live, start to finish nothing but chaos and energy for days!!!! They are by far my favorite metal band to see live. Most fun i’ve ever had at a show.

Listen to some Amon Amarth, either raise your horns or slaves of fear
Daniel Rodney or go way back to death in fire... That tapping solo in tasty. Or cry of the black birds my favorite. Guardians of aasgard is a good one as well
Dawn's first light would be a good reaction video lol
John Jag Any of those would be great, though I think the Guardians of Asgaard video would have more for Alex to react to. Ngl I'd be happy with any Amon Amarth song, especially one from Versus the World
Dan Leising that would be a banger of a vid
Daniel Rodney twilight of the thunder god
I was extremely lucky enough to see not just Lamb of God, but also Anthrax, Obituary, and Slayer on Slayer's farewell tour. They decided to do a second round of the UK, so I managed to see their last ever show in Scotland. Such a fantastic show, really emotional at the end.

Deftones - Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)
I just came from your other LOG song to see what the first one you heard and was so happy that it's this one. That second verse with the deep growls are amazing
Lamb of God is the band that I got in love with as soon as I heard them. I love Descending- LOG. This God that i worship, this demon i blame; conspired as one, exactly the same, it's exactly the same.

Yes!!!
i dont see that anyone has said this. but so many comments. interesting fact.

Breaking Benjamin - Red Cold River
I've never listened to a Lamb of God song ever in my life. May 11th, I went to the Slayer concert in Irvine and Lamb of God played before Slayer, and when they placed this song, I instantly got hooked. This song is FUCKING good. And that's coming from someone who's never listened to them before the concert
I just started a death / deathcore band this was the first we covered
Because i have a friend who loved lamb of god met randy and the andler brothers stay metal alex!!!
