I did this stacking different kinds of delay plugins when I was ~17, had a buddy over at the folks as a witness when mom called us for dinner. After that, we got within 20ft of my room and it already sounded like a Peterbilt was idling in my bedroom. Opening the door was like walking inside of a diesel engine, with the positive feedback making it increasingly louder until it became deafening.
3 - 4 maxed out metal zones actually sounds usable ngl, kinda gets this weird, over compressed type sound (espcially doing leads) that i kinda dig in a weird way.
i feel like there should be a challange for nik to write a song that includes all of the weird noises he made (the ultra low tuned the ultra high and this one ). I could imagine a breakdown for each noise. Would be interesting to see what he comes up with
Lmao i loved this way more than i should have. There was a meme of a pedalboard with nothing but Metal Zones and it being essentially a Gate To Hell. You made this meme a reality and im pretty sure the Apocalypse is upon us now!
The black metal part killed me!😂😂😂!!! It's funny that around 8 made me think of trying to tune into a metal station when I lived in the middle of the desert...and the higher you went, the further into the desert I got...
@@tzon6802 I've listened to most all of it, in real time. I've played quite a bit of it (guitar), as well. I'm also an engineer, and have been producing music for decades. My comment/opinion stands. Peace
You could probably write a song with up to 2 or 3 of these going as your "main" tone, and then get to the breakdown and blast the 12. Like. Riff, riff, riff, chorus, riff riff, chorus, clean ambient bridge, DISTORTION DESTRUCTION, chorus, outro. 3:32 of majesty. Can't wait for it.
Metalzone was one of my first pedals. I only had one though. I got the metal master from digitech not long after and have been using that once since but had a lot of fun with the metalzone
I have Digitech Hardwire TL2 metal distortion. It's like a really refined and modernised Metalzone. The chugs are awesome and it makes all your playing sound super smooth.
Emily Hopkins did a video last year: The Heaviest Distortion Pedal. But you have taken it to the next level. Yes!! This is the tone I've been looking for. One that will cover for my every mistake playing guitar.
But you merely adopted the Metal Zone; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the Axe FX until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!
I too had my awakening knowing nothing but the metal pedal. Except mine was a Zoom Trimetal. God what a terriblely over the top pedal that was. The EQ on it couldn't NOT destroy the sound and the distortion went from too much to something around the 4 Metalzones mark of this video. I loved it. It made me feel like a rock star. But nobody could hear me above the drummer.
I have never used the Metal Zone. My pedal is the Death Metal. Which I have never maxed out the settings I'm honestly afraid it's going to blow my amps up if I do. I usually keep the settings on like a 6. I'll drop down to a 4 if I want a clearer tone. Otherwise, the feedback is just unwieldy. I like a little feedback in my tone. Do that whole Eyehategod thing where they use feedback as an effect in itself. But if I'm getting feedback while muting the strings, that's too much man.
I think the Metal Zone is a great distortion pedal. People who hate the Metal Zone are those who simply do not understand how the parametric midrange works.
Every kid with a guitar at my highschool had one of these. They definitely didn't sound that good, but, that might be due all my memories of the noises they produced were from kids with the cheapest gear, who just started learning to play, learning Korn songs.

I feel like the out of focus camera really helped with the distortion experience 😂
It was literally all I could focus on
You must have a distorted sense of reality and I couldn't agree more.
yeah, now both my eyes and ears hurt 👍
At this moment Nick becomes an ultimate boss for Ichika and other Polyphias playing only clean
tbf, Polyphia uses some gain a lot of the time. G.O.A.T comes to mind

You've almost reached the perfect Black Metal guitar tone. Just need to record through a headphone microphone.
Placed in a wooden shed at the other side of the fjord
Get that burzumness in there
Max treble and 144p quality
A partially submerged shed with a woodpecker randomly pecking slowly on the burning thatched roof
You have clearly expertise in sound production! Do you have video tutorials?

That Unholy Confessions riff sounded like it was recorded on a brick phone in the early 2000s
a lot of riffs have that unholy confessions pattern.
@Mr_Egg04fr so much metal core like i think the first half of the final episode riff follows basically the same notes

YES combine this with the all the way down pitch shifted guitar paired with some pitch shifted all the way up leads
Not going to lie, I want to see this again but with a Boss HM2. The ultimate Swedish chainsaw
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Chain chainsaws 8)
Some Swedish black metal band called, they want that tone 😂

honestly the slightly out of focus camera really added to the artistic experience

The most relatable line ever said in this vid
It slowly gets chunkier over time.
Also, Harmonics are the only things that come through once more gain gets added.
