Thanks so much for sharing that amazing video with us! I've never had a whiting taco before, but I'll tell you what, I'm sure willing to try. I really love that you kept your fishing gear nice and simple, yet you were able to produce such an amazing meal. As always with seafood and tacos, the fresher the better, and you kept it fresh from the fish to the fixins! Keep up the great work!
That is one of my favorite spots ( SLB ). Whiting are super tasty !!!! I have also caught weakfish , sea trout, and Spanish mackerel in that same spot !!!
Thanks for watching and commenting. They are delicious for sure. I checked out your channel the other day, you're doing some good looking catch and cooks to.
I come to your area on vacation from the UK, fished this spot many times, caught Whiting and pomps along that part. I've found most of the whiting close in and catch more whiting by movement of the bait rather than leaving the bait and waiting for a take. Gutted for you about the kayak, keep the vids coming JC !!
Thanks for watching. I've heard there are some Pompano around there at times. The stolen kayak has been painful, but I'm hopeful something will turn up.
Hey JC I'm new. I'm American but live in Brazil on early retirement. We have whiting down here and pompano. I lived in Florida as a kid and am getting back into saltwater fishing as I lived in the midwest and fished mostly for walleye and panfish. Great Videos!!
Really enjoy your channel. I retired and moved down to St. Pete this past summer and now I figure I need to learn how to start fishing. Don't have a boat or kayak so it will be shore fishing. Learning a lot from you and a few others. Looking at a getting a Penn Pursuit III 3000 along with a 6'6" to a 7" ugly stick. Now I'm trying to learn knots, bait, lures, line, leader, etc! With the bay and gulf so close and the abundance of fish, I really do need to learn how to catch my dinner. :) Keep up the great videos!
Thanks for watching. I just discovers that Ugly Stik now has a new rod that is supposed to be the lightest. Here's a link to check it out: amzn.to/35w3ZNg
We call them Channel Mullet or Black Mullet in Louisiana. I dont care what anyone else calls them though, I call them one of the most delicious fish to eat
Hey JC! I'm a new sub. Really digging your channel and your enthusiasm for sharing your experiences with all of us. We're from MI but our winter home is in Venice. I've only been fishing down there for a couple years. I'm grateful for the knowledge your dropping on this channel. I'm hopeful it will get me on more fish in SW FL. Keep up the great work you're doing here. Maybe we'll cross paths someday soon and I can thank you in person. And sorry about your stolen yak. Some people really suck!
I am excited to watch you get the 34 inch + Snook again or even another Goliath grouper. As easy as a time you had with being able to play the fishing line like a guitar maybe the next one will give a harder fight. Again I look forward to all your upcoming videos!
Very nice whiting. haha looking pretty comfy JC. When I'm beach fishing I like Fish Gum and Fish Bites.. Got em both. I'm at the point of baiting shrimp and gum on same hook. I already know it works. Already tested. Catching whiting is fun.. I enjoy it too.. Might give it a go tomorrow or Friday... Maybe Friday.
Hi JC!! Those fresh whiting tacos look absolutely amazing!! Our Dad loved smoked whiting and all of us kids did too!! I was still able to get really good smoked whiting back in Pennsylvania that came from the fish smoker in Brooklyn, NY. I haven't seen any smoked whiting here in Thailand. Not sure if whitings are in these SE Asian waters. Loved this particular video, great job!! (Rob Allen in Thailand) 😊😎😊👍👍👍
JC another great way to catch Whiting is instead of a double rig is to use a Carolina rig 10-12in leader 1oz egg sinker. Whiting are mainly bottom feeders give it a try next time.
Well dang it I’m late to the party it’s been 9 months since you posted this video! , but it’s ok cause the the fish don’t care , I caught 6 whiting yesterday along with 4 -12” mangrove snapper and I invited them home to introduce them to my cook ware , now there’s a good chance it could be taco nite or we might get all fancy and try our hand at tempura just to try a little something different, but I can guarantee it will be delicious ! Well gots go there’s a deep fryer calling my name , thanks for posting, and tight lines bro ! 👍🏼🎣
Another great video. When I was a kid my Dad used to take me to Port Aransas, Texas. We caught whiting but the locals called them “croakers” . You ever hear that name? Hey, where did you get the Engel box?
Great show!! I've often noticed that bottom-dwelling fish shut down once the tide gets up to speed in or out. Do you think they would remain feeding longer on lower co-efficient days?
Great Video. We call um kingfish in Jersey. I find the same pattern with trout at inland canals.Where can I find Fishgum? Can you compare fishgum to fishbites. Only here 2 years, From jersey. Gotta find that spot, looks ripe for Flounder and Pomps. Tight Lines.
Thanks for watching. The link to FishGum is in the description. He's in the process of moving into a new facility and is out of stock at the moment. I've never used Fishbites, but from when I've seem, yes it's similar.
Great video JC - I love your catch & cooks! The Whiting Tacos looked delicious. Our Whiting here in the UK are quite different to yours - take a look at Matt's video and you'll see what I mean: ua-cam.com/video/HDNan4G3WSM/v-deo.html. That Fish Gum looks interesting too - would love to try that, but can't find it here (as usual!) and most of it is out of stock on your USA link. Thanks for the upload - stay safe & well. 👍👍
Make your own salsa: Cut up tomatoes (cubed) Chopped onion (to your liking) Chopped jalapeno (to your liking) Chopped cilantro (t.y.l.) 1-2 crushed garlic cloves Lime juice (1/2 lime) Add salt/pepper Mix and serve chilled
Ha ha...I actually did exactly that last night when the salsa jar was empty and I still had white corn chips. The only thing I was missing was lime and I substituted a little lemon juice. Nothing like some homemade salsa, yum, yum. Thanks for commenting.
Outstanding catch and cook brother..thank you for the name drop in your last few video buddy..I appreciate it.
The fried whiting looks legendary just by itself
Oh it is

There is a good Pompano and Whiting bite going on as long as the water stays above 65

Nice video! I ate some silver trout yesterday that I caught and I think the whiting I ate before that was still better! They’re delicious!
Whiting's delicious. It just takes too many of them to make for a decent meal.
I love this guy
Nice! Love eating whiting.
The are such a great tasting fish. You have to catch several of them to get a meal though. I'll be glad when Snook season opens around here.

I love eating whiting. I think they're tasty.
I usually use squid to catch them. I think I'll give fish gum a shot and ser how it works for me.

What rod were you using that took that 2oz sinker and fish with no problem? My UglyStik elite feels so heavy with a 2oz.
JC another great way to catch Whiting is instead of a double rig is to use a Carolina rig 10-12in leader 1oz egg sinker. Whiting are mainly bottom feeders give it a try next time.

That sounds like a good theory for sure. Thanks for watching.
Hey bro nice vid , whats the name of the park you catching those whiting ??
Thanks for watching. I don't reveal locations 99% of the time out of respect for local anglers.

What time of year was this your video says 1 day ago
I caught the fish a few days ago.
What combo were you using?
4000 reel with a 6' 6" medium action rod, 15 lb braid with 25 lb leader
@@RadReelingFishing nice 👍
So last Thursday and Friday were the skunky kinda days.
Is that fish gum the same as "fish bites" or better?
You'll have to research that one on your own. Thanks for watching.
That fish gum just salt water?
SW Florida ??
Yes
How you doing KC? Any word on 106?
Thanks for watching. No good news yet, still hopeful though.

Try putting sour cream and fresh made "pico de gallo"
That sounds like a good addition. Rad Fish Tacos Supreme!
All the gum is sold out
