    As a kid I cut my fishing teeth catching mullet at the Patawollunga in SA. We used to buy mince and they went crazy over it. When the mince was all used up, we used the pink paper the mince came in and caught them on that. So much fun. I'm 74 now and I still love catching mullet.I hear people say they can't c catch mullet - they must be using hooks that are too big and line that is too heavy. Another good vide Roger. There's nothing better than introducing kids to fishing - they learn so much.

    Growing up in Florida we would chum with oats purchased from feed store and we cut up white rubber worms in small pieces and bait 3 or 4 hooks spaced around 8 to 10 inches apart . The worm pieces won’t fall off like bread. We always went home with a huge haul.

    We used to use dough. Just some flour and water with some vanilla essence for some scent. Could also use a couple of mashed up anchovies from a tin with the oil they come in. Make it reasonably dry and if it dries out too much just add a little water. Stays on the hook really well. Still do it when I come home to visit family. (Lake Macquarie).
    Also can catch bream and leather jacket with it. Fun way to get bait! 👍😀

    I used to catch mullet as a little kid in the river off the wharf. A handline, a tiny, long-shanked hook, and bread crusts. By the time the crust had softened enough to slip off the hook, the mullet had bitten.

    A way to prepare bread burley which avoids feeding the pesky seagulls. Blitz up some stale / dried bread in the food processor. Take the breadcrumbs to your fishing spot and mix 50 / 50 with dry sand. Add a little water and then you can throw clumps into the water. The wet sand will help give you distance. The cloud of wet breadcrumbs will attract the fish and, sadly, the seagulls will go hungry. 😀😮‍💨

    If you want to see how good you are at fishing for mullets and other fish come to Perth. Rockingham Area and only during the day for 3 days in a row and during the day. Bag out on mullet and tommy rough. It’s the hardest place in all of Australia to catch fish during the day and that’s why only a handful of UA-cam videos are posted and they never bag out. 3 days straight from 8am to 5pm.

    • @leewood509
      @leewood509 26 днів тому +1

      Go to bunnings and buy a 50mm PVC tube x 1000mm long. Cut one end at 45 to 60 degree angle approx 150mm long.
      At the other / straight end drill a hole in the tube and you can install a key chain circle clip to the tube that will allow you to use an aluminium carabener to clip to your wading bag.
      You can get all these from bunnings

    Hello sir and hello to little brother. I have tested at least 200 different types of bait, soft, hard, live and every sort of flour bait in cluding peanut butter and all sorts of things. Out of all the thing that worked the best are normal spoon lures and diamond jigs "silver/steel" color to be specific ie kastmaster spoon. Nothing matches these two and you will never come home empty handed.
