Cheers Russell 🙌 Yeah it’s one of the bests types of fishing I enjoy over here, highly exciting and you get plenty of bycatch too, like the squid that keep hitting my top water lures 😂😂 Super tasty, maybe similar to gurnard and similar fillets too.
Very enjoyable to video watch. That YP beach you were on, almost like from prehistoric times. With that water being so clear, the fish were probably eyeballing you 🥸🤣And a couple of prime whiting is always a bonus. Cheers 👍
What rod are you fishing with? That is a very different guide train alo. Any idea what the train is? I've been wanting to build a ultralight rod for how your fishing. Great vid. Looks like a blast
Appreciate it. Copl guide setup on that rod. I build my own batson rainshadows. Not used to seeing guide reduction that fast on a rod. Cool... great video
I've tried Thomson's with no success. Was using slipperydog 65s. Blokes reckon ya better off with a bigger lure 95 even 120s. How have you found size of lures vs size of fish
Interesting in australia how right handed people don’t fish with the rod in their right hand and reel in with their left like we do in England. Notice how after casting u need to keep switching hands. If u put the reel and le on the left side of the reel then you can cast snd then go straight to reeling in plus you have more control of ur rod being right handed. Give it a try, will change ur life lol
I’m an Australian and it drives me mad too, I always fished right handed until my old man corrected me when I was about 14, I’m now 31 and now all of my reels are lefties and I will NEVER go back.
I am right handed. It feels more natural to me to wind with my right hand. I still hold the rod with my right hand and only swap rod hands when winding. I also have no trouble jigging with the rod in either hand. But Winding with my left hand feels weird. It’s like driving , here in Australia to our detriment thanks to England we drive on the left side while seated on the right hand side. While visiting USA and Europe I hire cars for touring both Auto and Manual. I think it’s more natural to sit on the left side and change gears with my right hand.
@@Jakeharly505 not personally but when I was last fishing there I found a lot of the lakes fished well for whiting on the top. Had a heap in one around avoca
Wow, this is the type of fishing I dream about. Some real beauties of the beach
I know right, I need to get back there.
Very cool, going to have to give these guys a go on the fly when I visit my brother on the GC.
I’ve been thinking about it man, their a challenge on the fly. But fun when you get them
That's a lot of fun, beaudy beaches ⛱️. That Whiting is definitely a blast, tasty too eh? Your video are looking good, John

Nah nit yet, but have seen they are the goods. I’ve caught them on other vibes but love the top water explosion
man, what a magical spot. Love the drone shots and the fishing. How long does it take you to get to a place like that from where you launch your boat?
Magical aye, well the rap is like 2hr drive and then 30 by boat so not too bad, don’t go too far in my little boat incase the weather blows up
Greay vid! What rod/reel combo were you using here?
Thanks mate. That’s an older airity and a td drunken monkey rod

I’m not sure what your referring to with the guides? It’s a UL Daiwa td black 1-2kg or 1-3lb I can’t remember. Good little rod
Appreciate it. Copl guide setup on that rod. I build my own batson rainshadows. Not used to seeing guide reduction that fast on a rod. Cool... great video
Where is this located please?
I am on this mission, sans boat, yet to hook up. Soon, I know it! Great vid mate, what gear you thowing?
Haha you’ll nail it bro 🤙

Sugar pens and slippery dogs

I love the volume control.
Cheers mate, you talking about the intro?
Is this down the yorkes mate?
Yeah mate. Eyre is too far for a weekend 🤙
Doesn’t get any better than that….Matter of interest what Lb braid are you using, looks like you still get good distance on the smaller sugapens? 👍
I’m using 6lb sun line super pe. Goes a mile!
Man I can’t wait for it to warm a bit and they kick off again 🤞🤞

Haha funny. I’ve acutely taught myself to be ambidextrous and cast with both. But yeah I see both sides but depends what you were taught

Knowitalls telling you how to cast and wind. "The rules of fishing ....." Ffs, Wayne Kerr's.
I’m right handed but my left arm is actually bigger and stronger for some reason

yeah, because where you're fishing, the fish are uneducated.
Why fish over fished areas 🤷♂️
Only the ones not in schools.
