    Finally a bottom up beanie that doesn't leave an ugly clump at the top of your head. Not everybody likes a pom pom to hide it. Thank you!!

    I've made quite a few headbands/ earwarmers and hats in this stitch and is very warm and thick but without a lot of bulk . It makes beautiful blankets too ☺️. It's nice to see you making this in the round. I've only been making mine in flat panels. Now I have a new way to use it. Thank you so much 😊

      You’re very welcome! It took a bit of playing with it to get the thermal stitch to work in a round and with a decrease, but I’m really happy with how it turned out!

      I’ve only made hats using single crochet and still my ears are cold. The NM winds are burrrr. Did this stitch keep out the cold? I’m back to knitting hats, I find them warmer. But I’d love to crochet this hat.

      @@RichTexturesCrochet it's a beautiful hat, I'm thinking about trying to make a hat in the round also but I need to add a brim because of the pattern. I'm going to try starting with the brim then going in the round. If it doesn't work out then I will try adding on the brim after. Wish me luck 🤞😊

    I have watched several of your tutorials on this stitch, and I am pretty sure I am ready to attempt it! Your directions are very clear except for one part that can be confusing-at least to me. Ordinary on a crochet pattern when you come to the end of a row like this the directions will be to either “work in a round, do not turn “ or “turn your work and chain one (or two)”. In the second case, you will actually turn your work around and go back the other direction. If I understand correctly, in your patterns when you say to turn your work, you want us to continue working in the round, but to flip/turn the work on its side to more easily see the stitches.
    Because your explanations are quite clear and you are demonstrating what you are saying, the directions can easily be followed. I am afraid if I attempted this stitch from just reading the written pattern with no illustration, I might have an issue with how exactly to turn my work.
    Please do not take this as a criticism of your work because it definitely is not. I just wondered if anyone else had an issue with how to turn at the end of the rows.

    What’s the measurement of the finished piece and the circumference of head it’s meant to fit?

    • @RichTexturesCrochet
      @RichTexturesCrochet  2 роки тому +5

      It’s to fit an adult head (about 20-21 inch circumference) and is about 8 inches tall when laid flat. Full details can be found in the description of the video and in the video I give a brief instruction on how to change the size if desired

    Anyone else actually tried this pattern? 120 chains seems very large (measures 13" across joined & laying flat) even into my 4th round. That means the original chain is 26"??? Does it continue to shrink?

      I'm making it now and had the same concern as you. i just tried it on my partners head, and compared it to one of his existing hats and it actually looks fine! Looking at the picture it's worn at an angle to reach the back of the neck and cover the ears, and it actually seems like it will be a good fit once finished!
      I'm finding the stitch hard work and I've picked black yarn which is making it mugh harder, but I think I will carry on now I've seen it looks like it will work!

      You can make as many sizes as you’d like by changing the length of your starting chain, then working to the height you desire and then the decrease rounds

    • @RichTexturesCrochet

      It will be, yes - at first it is about 2 inches larger as the stitch tightens it up. After about round 8 or 10 you should have the circumference

      @RichTexturesCrochet  Рік тому +1

      It will depend on the yarn you are using and gauge. Also, you will find that as you work the beanie, the stitch is quite dense. You can expect the foundation chain to tighten by about 2 inches in the circumference
