- In this video I finally get through my insect collection. This episode includes some wasps, flies, a mantispid and lepidopterans including large moths that are part of my collection. I discuss the stories associated with some of the species and some of their biology when appropriate.

They don’t like to fly much. They want to conserve their energy because they have no mouth and cannot eat
Hm... I didn't know that could have been what happened thanks for the info!
great videos i've been watching these with great interest . you have some amazing looking insects in the US .
Always look forward to your videos, keep it up!
Thanks glad to have some good followers!
I recently have found a new intrest in bugs and I found you're channel and I really love it! Keep up the good work :3
Your videos are great! Keep up the good work. I can't wait for the next one!!
Love the fact that I stumbled on your channel! Keep up the great work, I'm looking into getting in the insect hunting hobby myself.
Love the videos man can’t wait to see more!
Great video and simply beautiful animals.
This is so interesting and super cool to watch I hate insects but it’s still very fascinating great job!
Subscribed! And greeting from another insect Tuber!
You have any videos on preserving them and getting them to be the right shape? Great collection by the way! excited to watch the rest of your videos
Awesome
Thanks!
wow!💖
You're pretty dope, nice collection!
Not boring! You do you.
Personally I am trying to see how you’ve mounted things. Good shots in this video, but could use some controlled close ups. Don’t rush. You’re doing good work. Keep it up.
This type of stuff is cool to me
I had no interest In insects until now, cool video keep up the work
No ants? I'm surprised.
Any chance you can do a video on sifting leaf litter? I am hoping to find some Strumigenys species this year and I've read that's the best way to find them.
I like your channel. I never thought I would be glued to my phone watching a channel about bugs. It would be great if you would get a better close up lense to do a really cool close up on all of your bugs on a turn table like they show off jewelry on the jewelry shopping channels. The current camera or zoom lense you are using doesn't do a justice especially if people are watching your videos on their phones. Good lighting is also essential for these close up details that would help your channel a bunch not saying that you don't have good lighting already.👍😁
Thanks for the suggestions.
Don't end the videos with a negative comment that they are boring. If you're passionate about your work and are positive about it other people will appreciate it too.
Hi I like you’re videos .Do you use moth balls to prevent museum beetles from eating all your dried bugs you have to do this regularly to stop your collection turning to dust.shadow boxes are easy to do this. Just wondered if you new all this, I’ve been collecting butterflies and beetles for30years on and off thanks again Bridget from Tasmania Australia
Yes using moth balls is the best way to keep them out, but the smell is an issue for my wife or coworkers.
Awesome channel, man! I started collecting this year prior to the pandemic. Anyways, how in the world do you collect them moths without damaging them?
It is a challenge for sure. I put them in large jars like a huge pickle jar filled with paper towels and then freeze them or use ethyl acetate to euthanize them.
Insect Hunter Awesome! Thanks for the tip! Keep up the great work!
My grandpa has thousands of hang flies
Awesome!
In 1st grade my friend Nathan saw a grub on the ground it was just this fat ugly worm lookin thing, but he hit it with a stick and it the thing went flying and we couldn't find it and I've been afraid of bugs ever since because I was afraid it was on me without me knowing. Lmao
Did you kill the or were they already dead
id like too build up my collection like that, how are you doing? well i hope, and your twins as well
Hi. I like your videos . Great insect collection. You called the large moth a Luna Moth but it looks like a Cecropia moth. A google image search seems to confirm this. Do Luna moths exhibit sexual dimorphism to this degree?. I can not find any images of Luna Moths looking like this. Just wanted to know.
It looks more like a promethia moth than a cecropia moth to me. But you are right, its not a luna moth.
So is the tiger mob fake or is real
Looks like eggs on the underside of the Callosamia angulifera moth. I have had moths expel eggs after I kill them for mounting.
I don't know what happened. God to know that can happen though.
what do i do if i find an insect in my food from the grocery store? i need to get it identified so i can take it to my lawyer
you send a pic of it too the company
I found a bunch of dead hang flys on a bush
Yes Hanging flies are pretty cool.
The only problem with this video was it wasn't 20 minets longer. Really like your collection and you talking.
You are welcome. Wish I had more to share, but maybe a few years down the road there will be more.
Hey man bro I live in uae 🇦🇪 and in my garden there are insects there. Can u teach me how to catch?
By the way I like insects 😂
Wiz Khalifa GT
There are many ways. I live near and I like them too. You can look in plants, under rocks, and at lights
Try the pitfall trap, a video on how to set one up is on his channel.

Have you ever pinned centipedes?
Nope not yet.
You should try to catch a rhino beetle they are MASSIVE beetles that have this cool rhino horn on it's nose they have a pretty hard shell if you do get one you will need to push kinda hard to pin it look out for one they are super cool specimens so yee
P.S please pin this comment ;)
3:44 not even close to a Luna that’s a promethea moth
Hi
Howdy thanks for watching!
@@InsectHunter i am a big fan
Lol it was just sitting there... So I killed it. I don't care about the flies and pests but why would you kill a beautiful Luna moth.
I needed it for a insect collection for college to get a good grade.
Did I see cockroach as collection 🤢🤢🤢 just go in dumpster and u found it
They are rare in Idaho haha.
What a mess. Get educated before you go online. Not a luna chief, female promethea.. It is a tomato horn worm.
