Same here my favorite one too lol yes it was such a beautiful day outside that day! I will have to do more painting and practice more I need to add so much more detail into that portrait
David you are definitely the king of upcycling old pots. I just love how they turn out. Your art piece is stunning. I have always wished I had the talent of painting like that. Thank you so much for joining us on the Road Trip. See you in September!
Thanks so much you are such a blessing to this community both of you! We are lucky 🍀 I haven’t got around to watch any videos - I’m at work cleaning UGH 😑 but I’ll watch them tmrw for sure! I cannot wait
David, these are all amazing. I can't choose a fav. I love that they each have a different fiinsh. You make it look easy. I enjoy watching your videos. Keep 'em coming!
Linda I swear it is very easy to do - I’m showing you in the video what to do lol 😂 I swear you have to try a vase and you’ll be obsessed like I am haha
David, you are amazing with this finish! All were different, but all were beautifully done! And wow! I loved watching you paint on the mixed media board, fabulous!!😃💛👏🏻 Holly🐑🤍
David I'm so glad to see you flipping vases again! Just reading about all you're doing is tiring 🤣I'd love to see you flip more glass vases/bottles. My favorite today is the one with the double handles.
Amazing thank you for this feedback! I will also keep in mind to look into some new textured glass vases I actually have a sea glass idea in mind already
David you are remarkably talented, it never ceases to amaze me what you can do. I love the pot with the rings through the handles, but l think they all turned out great. I also think the pic you are painting is very cool! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that a lot. I’m definitely my worst critic but that okay, I only have to live up to my own standards then. I know deep down I tried and I wanna try again to get better that’s all that matters to me is keep going and creating. Thank you so much for this positive energy! God Bless!!!
All of the vases turned out gorgeous, David! You are great at transforming them! I upcycled a vase also. You are an awesome artist as well. I like how you incorporated the scissors into the art piece and that frame is gorgeous that you found in the trash. 💖
Wow you make it so hard to choose a favorite. These all came out so amazing. If i were to choose one though i think it would be the one with the 2 handles that i think u said had a copper band around it. It actually looks like stone or concrete. That is unbelievable. You certainly know how to play with paint to get different looks and textures. Great, great job
I love all of them! You have inspired me to paint my 2 very large pots in my foyer. I've changed my decor so they no longer match. I'm afraid to, but now I think I might risk it.😊 😮
Thank you!!! Just remember you can always wipe paint off. It may be a process but you can remove and start over - maybe you can practice on a thrifted vase or one from dollar tree first before starting the bigger project? You can use glass vases too! - add texture with joint compound smeared all over it and sand it down a little - if you don’t have sand paper go outside and lightly scrap the piece on the cement and it’ll help sand off rough edges - or use a rock to rub over the dried joint compound. After you have texture going on - add the baking soda paint mixture in a dabbing motion with a brush - let your first color DRY before doing it again with a new color - working your way from DARK first to LIGHTEST color last applied. Spray with a Matte clear sealer spray - hope you see this comment and it helps!!! Let me know if you ever have any questions about the process, as sometimes I may miss something in the videos. I have made many tutorials for you to watch over and get ideas on making faux pottery pieces look like an old ancient gem (collected pottery piece)
Just subscribed! Love the frame you found in the trash! Love your style💗 I very much enjoyed watching your painting come to life!! And how about those vases?!?! My fav was the large jug!! Would look fab🤗 in my French Country dining room, yum!!! lol, still working my way through the play list with my morning coffee☕! Great being in the TFRT with you David! TFS!!!!
Thank you so much! I love that you can actually envision something I made in your home. That makes me so happy to hear that it doesn’t look like crap lol 😂
Thank you! I think that one is my favorite too! I really wish I could have shown the before on that one. I swear nothing ever goes right but oh well I got my video up in the playlist late too
Did you cover the vase with the rings with spackle to get that texture or was it already like that. It came out looking like an old iron pot that had been corroding at the bottom of the ocean., fantastic. I’m a new subscriber and you’re my new go to artist for this kind of thing. Will be binging all your old videos.
@@DavidOwenCreates thanks! I have a glazed ceramic strawberry pot painted with cheesy little strawberries (i mean it’s cute just not my style) and i think i will try something like this on it!

Hi there! Yes that is correct - I like to mix matte paint bc of the anti shine
