    Which vase was your favorite? Do you think you'd try the mud vase?

    • @marnilane6124
      @marnilane6124 3 роки тому +2

      Silly question but do you think buying decorative sand from the dollar store would be easier to use on a lighter paint? Also, with the vase you used the grout on, have you found that it has set, or do you get some grit falling off when you touch it? Thank you so much for sharing this video!

    • @ActuallyAlli
      @ActuallyAlli  3 роки тому +1

      @@marnilane6124 Hi Marni! I think sand would work! I have also seen variations on Pinterest where people used regular dirt on white or light colors. Also, the grout vase has held up great. The acrylic paint and matte clear spray paint sealed it all in.

    FUN TIP*** Primitive crafters use fine ground coffee grinds, (used grinds). Mix in the amount u like with your paint. The grinds will give a hint of a stained effect. It gives a great stoneware pottery effect

    I appreciate that you used primer and a top coat! Drives me crazy when DIYers paint right over glass, plastic, or an existing glaze without sanding or priming. Whenever I go thrift shopping, I always find a few "DIY fail" vases that weren't properly prepped and primed--the paint job is cracking and flaking off and looks terrible. Prep is key to a successful project. So thank you for demonstrating the correct way!

    • @ActuallyAlli
      @ActuallyAlli  3 роки тому +1

      I'm definitely happy I didn't skip the primer! All the finishes have held up really well even a year later!
