Destroyer is great. 'God of Thunder', 'King of the Night Time World', as well as the ones you said.
When I was little my brother got Destroyer and I got the 1st Iron Maiden album, for the same Christmas.
Produced by Bob Ezrin. Destroyer is great! It sounds huge.

Judas Priest-Screaming for Vengeance was my gateway into metal in 1982. While I was at a record store I buying JP-British Steel, and although I'd never heard Iron Maiden, the album cover for Piece of Mind just looked too cool not to buy. Those were the first 2 metal albums I ever bought. It was the same with Dio, saw the album cover for Last In Line, it looked too cool not to buy. The the next bands for me was Venom. Venom was just dangerous then and fueled my rebellious 15 year old self. Then it was Slayer-Haunting the Chapel and Mercyful Fate-Melissa. The I heard Voivod-War and Pain. That was the first time I heard a really heavy band that wasn't satanic. I still remember telling my friends I wasn't into all that Satan stuff anymore, I was into Nuclear War now. I played the shit out of War and Pain. in 1986 I really dove into Thrash hearing Metallica and Megadeth for the first time. I completely stopped listening to stuff like Dio, Maiden, and Priest in favor of heavier music. I still remember sitting in a strawberry field, singing Peace Sells in my head over and over, trying to make enough money to buy Peace Sells...But Who's buying. Then I discovered hardcore with bands like DRI, Crumbsuckers. I saw the music videos for Agnostic Front-Anthem, and Sick of It All-Injustice System and knew I had to be into that music. I'm still a fan of punk/hardcore to this day. I will love Sick of it All and Agnostic Front to my grave. I got super into Cryptic Slaughter, Cro-mags, and Septic Death, Nuclear Assault, Sodom, Kreator, Nuclear Assault, Candlemass, Motorhead, and Sacred Reich. By the 90s I was kind of bored of Thrash Metal, sold all my thrash albums, with the exception of Slayer and Sepultura. Metallica had changed and I stopped listening to them. I remember hearing White Zombie and just thinking it was the freshest sounding music I'd heard in a long time. I was super into Fear Factory, Biohazard(I fucking loved Biohazard!) Machinehead, Cathedral, Godflesh, Obituary, Danzig, Rollins Band, Entombed, Carcass. The 2000s rolled around and I got super into Slipknot after Kerry King was going on about how much he loved that first album. Then I started getting back into thrash metal again after buying some Testament compilations, and Exodus and Death Angel releasing new albums. I got back into Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Judas Priest, and Ozzy after I played the video game Brutal Legend and just driving around playing their songs. GTA: Vice City got me back into Anthrax. I was super into Arch Enemy after hearing the song We Will Rise. I liked them for 4 albums before I really bored of them. I got super into Therion around 2006 after hearing To Mega Therion on the same DVD as Arch Enemy. I still love Therion. I got super into Napalm Death, Satyricon and Black Metal around 2006 too with Immortal, Emperor, Enslaved, then later Marduk. I got back into Metallica in 2012 when I saw the Beyond Magnetic Ep for $4.99 and I thought "why not?". That little EP kicked my ass...it's so good. Then I got into Ghost around 2012. I still like Ghost, but but the magic has waned for me. The last 10 years has been a real void for me. There are NO new bands I like. I've mostly been going back and discovering the bands I heard about growing up but didn't have a chance to get into like Coroner, The Exploited, GBH, Exciter, Scorpions, Kick Axe, Twisted Sister, St. Vitus, Pentagram, The Stooges, Budgie, Lucifer's Friend, etc. That's pretty much been my my metal journey.

WOW this is a great comment, lot to unpack here! Thanks for taking the time. Intersting how you mention GTA to get you back into Antrhax, I had sort of the same with Peaky Blinders, they had the Wizard by black sabbath in some episode and that just sent me off to months of deep dive into black sabbath after years of surface level listening. We have this variety in common, i mean i never got into the hardcore too much but i can go from iron maiden to Mayhem in a matter of seconds and find beauty in both.

I went into metal 1983 : Iron Maiden - Paul Di Anno. He made me a metalhead.
My metal father until now is Tony Iommi…
Judas Priest are … the real me .
    And…. ‘Tallica for ever 🖤🖤🖤
Because ,no matter what they play, they clear my mind…!!!

Yes I love the DiAnno Maiden stuff, it was so raw and raspy somehow. Would have been great if they would have made one more album with him

I'm with you on that Megadeth album. I saw them tour for that. It's excellent. Probably underrated in their discography by most of their fans, I think. It's full of piss and vinegar. Mustaine practically spitting venom, throughout. The remaster sanitised and removed most of that. The original mastered version is the best.

Yes that album has something to it that has always made it my Megadeth favourite. I am so excited to see them play this stuff live and hopefully get another interview with one of them. thanks for watching

The most influential rock and metal bands for me would have to be Metallica, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Pantera and Korn!
