@@royalthane7711 If you can't beat the trainers/gym in an area because you can't train up your Pokémon...that's a road block. If you have to go back and train up in a weaker area, that essentially accomplishes the same goal as a physical barrier does...it keeps you in a specific area until you're strong enough to progress.
I feel about the immobilizing status stuff, but here's one way to prevent your pokemon not moving if they get these statuses. Have high friendship and they will most likely fight it off for you. Same when you are about to get K.O.ed, they will often hold one with 1 HP left so you can get another hit. I recommend building friendship as it will help alot.

Love-hate relationship with Flygon. In my first ever pokemon game I completed (Emerald), it was my main pokemon and Vibrava learning Dig really helped with Norman. But when I played Pokepark Wii, you have to play tag with Flygon as a mandatory part of the game. It flies, which means you have to wait for it to land, which it only does like twice, for half a second, and additionally, it throws obstacles (sandstorms) behind it the whole time that you have to dodge while on a narrow bridge in order to even get close to it. You have to have fully upgraded your running speed, dodge every sandstorm, and basically have to do everything perfectly to catch it. Additionally, after about 10 attempts, its cry gets super annoying, and it stays super annoying for the rest of the 50 tries it takes until you finally catch it.

Unpopular opinion: I actually LOVE HMs. They force me to restrict myself in the move sets so I have to better strategize more of my matches. The no deleting HMs is pretty freaking bad as a mechanic, though, I COMPLETELY agree. Also, I remember Barry being a completely impossible to beat wall in Hearthome at least twice in my first runs of Sinnoh back on DS. Granted I was like 7 or so years old, and these were my first exposure to Pokémon. But still, JUST LET ME IN THE CITY, I want to cook, and take walks, and dress up! Is that too difficult for you?!?!

Gen one and two. Having a full box and it wasn't programmed to auto switch to the next box. Which was a problem if you didn't keep track and forgot to switch to a less full box when you went to go catch a legendary or something. Or in those games having to save the game to switch boxes. Was a massive pain.
4:50 fun fact about this, I faced someone on ORAS using just legendaries, and my Blaziken was down 2 to 1 with max speed against an Arceus and a Genesect, I beat the Arceus with two blaze kicks leaving me with 40 health, then with Genesect, I knew that blaze kick would OHKO it, but it missed, and then Genesect finished me with a critical hit Steel type move that shouldn't have killed me. I was livid

It's used to describe anybody (friendly or otherwise) who you compete against for the same award/trophy/job etc. Which can absolutely include family and friends...who I'd hope you don't hate and treat with hostility 😂 Familiarity often breeds contempt though...by that I mean, the more you see and compete against someone, the more you tend to not like them. That's probably why you relate rivalries to dislike.

When you're trying to catch one, and you try and lower its health down to the red. You use a weak or not effective move to get it down, but it critical hits and it faints

@@royalthane7711 If you can't beat the trainers/gym in an area because you can't train up your Pokémon...that's a road block. If you have to go back and train up in a weaker area, that essentially accomplishes the same goal as a physical barrier does...it keeps you in a specific area until you're strong enough to progress.

I feel about the immobilizing status stuff, but here's one way to prevent your pokemon not moving if they get these statuses. Have high friendship and they will most likely fight it off for you. Same when you are about to get K.O.ed, they will often hold one with 1 HP left so you can get another hit. I recommend building friendship as it will help alot.
I think that’s the more recent game mechanics. The first half gen had friendship but not that added mechanic.

Love-hate relationship with Flygon. In my first ever pokemon game I completed (Emerald), it was my main pokemon and Vibrava learning Dig really helped with Norman. But when I played Pokepark Wii, you have to play tag with Flygon as a mandatory part of the game. It flies, which means you have to wait for it to land, which it only does like twice, for half a second, and additionally, it throws obstacles (sandstorms) behind it the whole time that you have to dodge while on a narrow bridge in order to even get close to it. You have to have fully upgraded your running speed, dodge every sandstorm, and basically have to do everything perfectly to catch it. Additionally, after about 10 attempts, its cry gets super annoying, and it stays super annoying for the rest of the 50 tries it takes until you finally catch it.

Unpopular opinion: I actually LOVE HMs. They force me to restrict myself in the move sets so I have to better strategize more of my matches. The no deleting HMs is pretty freaking bad as a mechanic, though, I COMPLETELY agree.
Also, I remember Barry being a completely impossible to beat wall in Hearthome at least twice in my first runs of Sinnoh back on DS. Granted I was like 7 or so years old, and these were my first exposure to Pokémon. But still, JUST LET ME IN THE CITY, I want to cook, and take walks, and dress up! Is that too difficult for you?!?!

Gen one and two. Having a full box and it wasn't programmed to auto switch to the next box. Which was a problem if you didn't keep track and forgot to switch to a less full box when you went to go catch a legendary or something. Or in those games having to save the game to switch boxes. 4:50 fun fact about this, I faced someone on ORAS using just legendaries, and my Blaziken was down 2 to 1 with max speed against an Arceus and a Genesect, I beat the Arceus with two blaze kicks leaving me with 40 health, then with Genesect, I knew that blaze kick would OHKO it, but it missed, and then Genesect finished me with a critical hit Steel type move that shouldn't have killed me.

It's used to describe anybody (friendly or otherwise) who you compete against for the same award/trophy/job etc. Which can absolutely include family and friends...who I'd hope you don't hate and treat with hostility 😂
Familiarity often breeds contempt though...by that I mean, the more you see and compete against someone, the more you tend to not like them. That's probably why you relate rivalries to dislike.

I found it funny when I get shines even when I'm not looking for them. I was just looking for a gastly just to get data and the first grass I stepped into in the area they are at I got a shiny XD
I've only gotten two shinies to my knowledge.
My pet peeve: *leaving your ds case at a park going back the next day to find that the only game missing is your Pokémon white version.*

Did you know that Gladion is the actual main rival of Sun and Moon? Somewhere in the files (I think it's the music files, but I'm not sure) Gladion's says "Rival" and Hau's says "Friend".

I found a shiny Cosmog and I did 50% of its hp and then it fled when I was about to throw a ball.
you know as of now Cosmog is shiny locked and there is no wild battle with one?
Also the only pokemon that flee are roaming pokemon none since gen 6 cosmog is gen 7 and safari zone pokemon none in gen 7. Also throwing a pokeball is priority even on pokemon that flee

shiny fail, for me it was a shiny Altaria I finally found one and then it used perish song, broke out of every Pokéball and then died
I did find another one a few weeks later though and thankfully captured it before it killed itself

Many shinys in ultra wormholes in US cause I was dumb and brought super strong Pokémon then killed the wild shinies. Haven’t failed a shiny in SH yet though cause I used a masterball on my shiny gmax charizard and a repeat on a shiny heatmor

In scarlet and violet,leaving an area resets the spawns.I was shiny hunting room via outbreak,and had found a shiny.I accidentally ran,and running away pushed me out of the area,despawning the shiny rotom.. I was DESTROYED
Here are 3 more that get under my skin:
To add to the pokemon running: the legendaries that run across the map; super annoying to keep chasing them
When a pokemon suicides when you're trying to catch it (galarian weezing in SW/SH)
The inconvenient critical hit. When you're trying to catch one, and you try and lower its health down to the red. You use a weak or not effective move to get it down, but it critical hits and it faints
This is why false swipe is my favourite pokemon move. No need to worry about crits if you can't KO

BioniclesaurKing4t2 defog sucks as much as the gimmick it was made for, Rock climb is alright but doesn’t always land, and whirlpool is not very powerful and also doesn’t always land. At least flash got demoted to being a t.m. In gen 4 onwards.
