For those who don't know, Farfetch'd's Japanese name is a phrase which translates to "a duck comes bearing green onions," which is a Japanese figure of speech meaning "surprising, but convenient." So its entire original premise was that it's a joke about a duck that carries its own side vegetable.

Finding a gourgeist, catching it, bringing it to wherever the exorcism is being performed and then cooking the remaining pumpkin seems like a lot more work then just getting a non-possessed pumpkin.
Pretty true
The souls of the damned add flavor to it
sometimes the exclusivity of it can create a demand for it.
We already go out of our way to eat sturgeon eggs (caviar) for some reason.
And i mean, it is a weird flex to say that the pumpkin you ate was once cursed by a spirit.
@@solitaireofasstora7540 yeah, ik, I tried it
Legends Arceus did also give us a precedent for this-apparently food ingredients blasted by a Dusclops’ Dark Pulse does experience a change in flavor of some kind. I’d say it’s reasonable to suggest that the presence of a ghost for a prolonged period of time could do something similar-perhaps the flavor would match that of “Shadow-Ball treated pumpkin”
So let's see here, trying to put multiple items into one meal...

Just to let you know, Mikey, a lot of herbs are bug repellents. Basil, Bay Leaves, Garlic, Sage, Thyme, Mint, Chives, even Cilantro are known to repel bugs, the listed ones even repel specific bugs. So it’s not at all strange for Petilil’s leaves being bug repellent and edible.

It launches swarms of missiles, each made of cream and loaded with *100,000 Kilocalories.* Get hit by one of these, and your head will swim.

A quick note about the "eating bug repellent plants"; there are actually a number of fragrant herbs commonly used in cooking which are known to have repellant effects on some species of bugs. Rosmary, mint, and basil are all noted as having some level of effectiveness repelling mosquitoes, for example.
Not a herb, but citrus like lime and lemon can also be used as repelants

There's a WAY simpler way to go about this. Simply get really friendly with an Alakazam, until it gives you one of its spoons. According to the Pokedex, anything eaten out of an Alakazam's spoon become delicious. Then it doesn't MATTER what you are actually eating.
Addionally, since people do consume milk from other animals than cows, I assume the milk of many other Pokemon is edible. Contenders would include Sheep pokemon (like the Mareep and Woolu lines) Goat pokemon (like Gogoat) Buffalo Pokemon (like Boufflaunt) Camel pokemon (like Numel and Camerupt) Horse Pokemon (Ponyta Rapidash etc.) and donkey Pokemon (Mudbray).

In the seafood department, I feel like Octillery and Seaking are notable omissions. It's interesting how you mentioned the pokemon-human relationship part, since modern day pokemon doesn't have as many references to eating pokemon (at least not where the pokemon dies, but you do have to wonder where those sausages came from) more than likely because they basically made the pokemon sentient creatures, making them unethical to eat, and also probably the idea of people keeping them as pets adds that taboo into it.
Then again, I'm a "meat is meat" kinda guy, so as long as I don't see it being made I'd dig in
I mean it really isn't too far off from real life. Some people keep farm animals as pets while others just eat them. It all comes down the person and their experiences, I suppose.
I mean, heck, in many households that raise chickens, the children often take a liking to some of the chickens but they still end up having them for dinner anyways.
I agree up til the “so long as I don’t see”. That reeks of the “ignorance is bliss” mentality but ignorance is just ignorance. If the process makes one too squeamish to acknowledge it then so should the result since it still has any moral/ethical ambiguity the means inherently imbued into the ends. The route taken doesn’t disappear once a destination is reached, it’s still connected.
But I agreed with you up til then. It’s not too different from rl, not even with the sentience ad there’s data to suggest that the presence of the complex structures of the cerebrum are the main source of sentience, organ structures that birds and mammals all have. So…arguably cows and chickens are sentient.

That will be the villains backstory
@@vitigaymer1053 LMAO
Someone needs to draw a thanksgiving meal but it’s all Pokémon lmao
Eating Pansage's leaves will "whisk away weariness" and I remember in the anime, Cilan, Cress and Chili would have their monkeys work together to make tea using the leaves, water from Panpour and heat from pansear.
Pokémon saved since Gen 9 wasn’t out yet:
Quaxwell (duck)
Quaquaval (duck)
Oinkologne (pig)
Nacli (salt)
Naclstack (salt)
Garganacl (salt)
Dipplin (candy apple)
Hydrapple (candy apple)
Paldean Tauros (bull)
Tatsugiri (sushi)
Dachsbun (bun)
Smoliv (olive, could’ve shown up)
Dolliv (olive)
Arboliva (olive)
Toedscool (mushroom)
Toedscruel (mushroom)
Brute Bonnet (mushroom)
Fezandipiti (pheasant, albeit Poison type)
13:38 Your delivery with stuff like this makes it all the funnier! 😂
Does... Does Mikey know that pumpkin spice isn't made of pumpkin? Like, sure, you could still EAT the pumpkin as a pie, but pumpkin spice refers to the spices used to flavor pumpkin (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger).
Eating a haunted pumpkin is like the fastest way to get possessed lol. Imagine having to go out on a ghost hunt to find one, exorcise it, then make pumpkin pie with it. What a workout for some pie

“I’m not going to eat bambi. I’ll eat his mom though!”
If you don’t want miltanks milk then just use gogoat, or skidoos milk because in the anime they are known for making milk and some of the kalos regions cheeses and ice cream
They also learn Milk Drink so you know it safe for consumption.
Its so nice that grunty boi and mikey are actual friends now... Brings a tear to my eye 😭
Fun fact, Mikey: Farfetch'd itself is based on a Japanese proverb, something like "don't trust the duck bearing its leek", as like the duck itself was asking to be cooked. It means that you shouldn't trust things looking too convenient to be true :)
what about herbs and spices? Bayleaf literally has Bayleaves growing out of it's neck. Use those oddish, tangela and chikorita leaves to season those miltank steaks. Hell yeah
Honestly not a bad idea to turn Miltank into a hamburger... or ribs... mmm
At this point, he can basically do anything with Miltank

I mean, it's a cow
Mmm...ribs... 😋
Now that Scarlet and Violet are out, I think Mikey would add Oinkolonge to the pigs.
yeah, the pokedex entry talks about how it has a floral scent all of the time, i wonder if that'd have any effect on the taste, and if so if that'd be for the better or not.
lechonk also is said to have an herblike scent, which i think would be pretty good, then it might have a similar herby flavor when you eat it, so you don't even really need to season it, and lechonk is also said to only eat the finest foods, so that'd probably have a positive impact too. he says lechonk is too small, but it's probably the better choice imo
Pokemon being described as naturally edible reminds a lot of the Toriko universe
"I won't eat Bambi...I'll eat his mom though!" Glad to see you have such honorable standards
Mikey is a furry CONFIRMED?!
@@NamedNameless1 it her in the sense of consumption not in other...... kinky.....way
Was searching for that comment
There would be pokemon that could produce food within just a second. Alcreamie in anima producing whipped cream, and Slowpoke's tail being cut off painlessly.
