Alan Walker’s “Fade” and “Faded” were two different songs. The NCS version back in the day didn’t have lyrics and was reworked to make “Faded”

Still remembering the time Fade, Spectre and Force got removed from NCS, most UA-camrs who use those song were losing most of their ad revenue (because those 3 songs instantly claimed as part of Sony Music Entertainment shortly after removed from NCS)

Not only was the "Leave Britney Alone" video big on UA-cam back in the day, but it's one of those videos that surpassed UA-cam and legit became engraved into American Pop culture. I remember it being EVERYWHERE. It was even parodied in that dumb Meet the Spartans movie 😂. People absolutely FLAMED that video to where I actually felt bad for Chris (or whatever her name is now)

Filthy frank’s cake series was the saddest thing that had to be deleted.
The Nicole Arbour drama rabbit hole goes much deeperthan that. Dear Fat People was just the beginning. A bit before the video was uploaded, she began dating fellow youtuber Matthew Santoro. He seemed happy with her initially but then he started seeming off to his viewers until he eventually adressed their concerns and claimed that Nicole was abusing him both mentally and physically. So in my opinion, it's both of these issues happening simultaneously that led to an outlook on the video that's more negative than what people percieve it as today.
I noticed the other day that hes uploading again. I do remember the video where he addresses that situation. Hope hes doing well.
She did the same to Ryan Upchurch. She drug him through court causing him to spend quite a bit on attorneys before he won his case. All the drama is on his you tube page.

@@dylanbanning Probably deleted by the uploader. Having said that, the uploader created UA-cam, so the creator of UA-cam deleted the videos, so UA-cam technically did deleted the videos, that is a bit of a paradox.
What's even crazier is that the leave Britney alone video is the only video to ever be in a movie, grant it 2 very terrible movies

I always had this existential thought about human society collapsing and most our technology gets lost including the internet. How much of our human identity and history did we store on there. Like what can future archaeologists or aliens tell about us just by the ruins we leave behind. They'll never know about how twerking and cat videos were a huge thing to us, what the meaning of NNN is or this thing called "meme".

Luckily a lot of people sell meme merch such as paintings and cloths, so that may live on. Though now i'm wondering about the wild ways they would interpret them. The obsession with Nicholas Cage, the wojack meme tshirts, ect.
I mean a lot of countries store historical and influential pop culture in secret vaults in secure locations
yeah what if in the far future the internet gets fully eradicated due to some apocalyptic/war event then we would lose millions of content relating to how humans were living and their culture

A bit of backstory on the Rick Perry video: He had just come off a debate a few days or maybe a week prior where he had completely and famously botched an appearance on a national debate stage about the three government agencies he'd get rid of (Search Rick Perry 3 agencies), and this was his first salvo after that humiliation. No doubt he was advised to go hard and go, um, strong in this ad to try and muscle his way back into contention. It also doesn't help that he wore the exact same jacket that Heath Ledger wore in the gay film "Brokeback Mountain". All of this combined to make an ad that he probably felt was better left in the graveyard.

The loss of all those machinima videos, which includes a lot of broteam content, is pretty sad tbh.
From somone who has been here since the start, it was great to be reminded of the past.I do miss the "You" in UA-cam. Video responces and the feeling that the normal people like me could make content that could be seen by anyone.
Now it feels like the big companies have push us little guys out of the way :(

To be fair, every time I hear about Nicole Arbour, I just think of Amy Schumer.
Why is that? It's because their "jokes" are equally unfunny.

"Fade" (the original NCS release) was simply just an infinite form of the verb "fade", not "Faded" (that's the lyrics version of the song). Also, it's actually sad that the contract expired and the original songs are no longer available on the NCS channel. Fade and other Alan Walker songs released under NCS were massively used in various videos, partially because there was virtually no copyright (there was still some sort of copyright, but you didn't have to pay any royalties, all you had to do is put a little mention in the video description). I'm not sure if those songs are still considered free to use, as those songs were re-released on Spotify in 2020 under the EP called "Origins".

I was talking about old vids with friends a while ago and mentioned machininma vids to them. I went to look for them and found they were gone. Especially the one I wanted to find. Guess they removed the vid due to the nature of the content.
Don't worry, 14:26 He's hated even among Republicans. The third term to help secure his election, there were two independent candidates that both got 13% and 14%. Rick Perry "won" with 37% for his last term ever in Texas. He was absolutely hated. The majority of the US still don't have run off elections though, so he was able to hold his seat despite barely securing more than 1 in 3 votes in all of Texas.

Only a few months ago, I learned the date that UA-cam was made and found out that UA-cam is older than me. not by much, only a bit over a month, but still, I had no idea.anyway just found that interesting.
I remember the fat people video, not in it's entirety though. I just don't like Nicole arbour. She's a terrible person, imo. All the stuff she did with Matthew Santoro, then she told the next guy she was with (Ryan Upchurch) she was roofied so he took her to the ER where they did tests on her and found zero drugs in her system and barely any alcohol and all but straight up said the Drs were lying, she held the man's wallet hostage, tried to claim songwriting credit on his songs, claimed he was broke, in different interviews she claims he treated her terribly then flip flops to say he was such a gentleman to her, she completely trashed an air bnb, and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. The girl just seems like a giant mental trainwreck, nothing I've heard about her has ever been positive. She's like the UA-cam version of Kanye west, just not as famous or skilled at songwriting and she doesn't appear to have any redeeming qualities. I mean, at least Kanye has some amazing songs.

recently, Alan Walker released his song 'dreamer' which is a colab with NCS. And it's fade not faded. Faded is based off of the song fade
The UA-cam kids app did negatively impact my 4yr niece's development. Hearing what she was repeating, the cussing. Seeing what she was repeating, the inappropriate poses. Some of that stuff packaged as kid friendly in the first minute of video so the parent thinks it's ok and don't pay attention long enough to notice. I paid attention when I babysat and was alarmed at what I heard. Some of it is disgusting. Lot of copyright media characters being used in nasty ways.
They need to delete so much more.
The era of multi channel networks like Machinima was a fascinating point in internet history. Corporations found a way to make other people make content for them and skim some of their revenue for only maintaining their own channel, which costs next to nothing. Content creators were getting screwed over in the long run, especially when aggressive, inescapable contracts were used that were so unfair at times that they broke contract laws and weren't legally enforceable. Now, the whole concept has died off, and everyone has agreed that organically growing an audience as an independent creator is the best way to go.

there's also the fact that her response to criticism was that those were jokes and shes a comedian when her "jokes" are as dry as dry ice but then I think she doubled down on what she said too? there was like a lot a lot

I wanna say that people who said the "dear fat people" video was what got them to lose weight and get their habbits back on track makes me remember that in the Ana/thinspo community, we would circulate similar videos and pictures with messages to each other to make us continue to starve/purge and lose weight in very unhealthy manners. I don't know if that side of the ana/mia/thinspo/fitspo community still exists since it did get huge crackdowns but I also don't seek it out anymore since I know it would impact my recovery for the worst.
I think it kind of does, but it's done differently now. Now it's body checking videos disguised as "get ready with me" and fashion haul/try on videos.

Trap Lore Ross had early videos back when he went by Ross Hacks in 2017-18. Until he rebranded the channel by the beginning of 2019. There hasn’t been any reuploads of his earlier videos including a rant he did of the movie Ready Player One. The only thing that exists now is a screenshot from early January 2019 of what the channel looked like with thumbnails for what are now deleted videos.

There's actually alot of people whose been very against the "fat movement" there's also alot of channels who cover it. most of them are fitness people, people who lost weight, other fat people, and doctors. And most of them have the same energy as the dear fat people video.
And personally as someone whose currently suffering due to the consequences of my weight(I lost half my initial body weight due to the disease) I agree with them...
And a lot of them are wrong because consistently it has been proven, over and over again, that stigmatizing something does not lead to better health outcomes for people. Stigmatized drug use doesn't help, stigmatizing sex doesn't help, stigmatizing alcohol and cigarette use doesn't help -- and stigmatizing fat people doesn't help. You can't shame people into health. As a person who almost died from an eating disorder, I know that.
