- "Gólya" ("Stork") is a folk dance known in several hungarian speaking communities in Transylvania as well as Hungary. The song has no lyrical connection to the american civil war era hymn, only uses the tune of it.
Also known as "Gólyás" and "Elfogyott a mákos tészta"
hungarian domination of the world
For those that don't know before “The Star-Spangled Banner” became the United States' national anthem in 1931, there was another: “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” In 1861, the Committee for a New National Hymn became one of the first efforts to enact an official United States national anthem.
I remember drunkenly thinkin this two song is the same. Thank you testvér.
And the Battle Hymn of the Republic was written using the music of John Brown's Body.
Which took the tune from "Say Brothers will you meet us?"
It's the other way around. The tune of "Hymn of the Republic"/"John Brown's Body"/"Say, brothers will you meet us" comes from Central Europe drinking songs and northern sea chanties.
