That straight 300 six kick ass. That motor could pull more that the 8 of the period. Those were some big ass pistons.
Tell you what man. It's awesome to see something so old but amazing run again. And someone like you to take time and bring it back to life. You've earned my respect haha
just the sound of it tells me its time to go to work
i had one
i heard that sound everyday
keep them coming. can't wait to see how she comes out.
Good job on the videos, and I'm not even a Ford guy! I love all old cars and putting them back on the road. Keep them coming!
great truck can't wait to see her on the road again
I love that truck. Im jealous
there is a reason why Ford's slogan is built Ford tough
becuase the old ones are amzing the new ones are ummm crap
he got it running in days with simple tricks. you cant really do that with new ford trucks very easily.
Can't say anything about the old ones except I owned a 56 4-door sedan. About 10K miles ago I bought a 92 F150 as a firewood hauler and it's been a constant series of fixes. Up until 1992 Ford had still not learned how to make a door handle that doesn't break repeatedly. On my third one. Just had the trans rebuilt at 150K miles. I would never pay real money for a Ford. Don't trust this one and I've heard a lot of horror stories about the new ones.
I myself am just beginning to try to resurrect a 68 f100 ranger edition. it as well has sat for about 20 years. it has an odd engine swap done to it that needed only a custom driveshaft made to finish, but then progress halted. it's a 289 from I believe a 67 mustang
older cars and trucks are the best
This truck is beautiful I got a 68 ford ranger to its brown it needs a new box though
right on keep them coming
Jay White trying as fast as I can. Super cold this week up here in Iowa so not much progress happening on it right now.
no prob love the vids man keep it up
I like the vids also and thanks for posting them.
@@C2H6Garage Why tear it down if it's running smooth? Why not drive it until there's a problem?
my neighbor had a 1966.5 i think. drove it to church & back. Had an original 25k miles on it. original tires. top speed 57 mph down hill. nice truck. we'd take it fishing.
Arturo Gonzales nice truck but original tires isn't something to be proud of that's not safe
Hi all. I Live in Brasil, people here doesn't have truck culture like north americans, main because fuel here is a very worst and expensive in the world, so, the top here is a smallest and high mileage cars as possible, with a E27 1000cc 3 cylinder engines. I am trying to return life a 1999 Ford Ranger 13D double cab diesel, but find parts and accessories here is a real challenge. God bless you, and keep saving the trucks!!!!
all right, a cold start of the 68 0ld fart
how many miles on the old girl? man I wish when I got my 84 out the the barn I found it in where it sat for 18 years I would've documented it like you guys did. all I had to do on my 300 was put fresh gas in it and a battery and it fired right up within a few cranks. replaced the fluids and drove it from Indiana back up to Detroit the next day.
I've got some videos on my page of me driving it around town, but not really anything special. Mines an 84 150 with the 300 six.
stonemason90 that's cool. I'm surprised the tires were still good after that long. We had a few more issues but really we spent less than $100 to get it going again. I doubt any vehicle made after 2000 could even start again for under $1000 if it sat that long, and that's being generous.
C2H6 it still had 15 pounds when I first got into it, filled it up to 55 and drove those tires for 2 years. they were rock hard though had zero traction haha I have some old pics of the truck from when I first got her, but I don't know how to upload them lol
Did I hear a valve tap?
work on the sound can barely hear you I like this style my dad had a 68 or 69 good truck went from ca to ind
I drive a 2007 ford ranger 2.3L auto
of course it will start--its a ford!!!
How is the tear down going?
Work has been crazy so have had much time. I am working on the brakes right now to get it on the road for a quick drive before tearing it all down.
Thank you for the reply and looking forward to more posts.
Better plenty of work then none and it makes working on the old Ford more fun.
I like six cylinder!
six cylinder isnt great for a truck like this, rather have a big block v8.
It's a good motor, just as long as it isn't backed by a slush box. A five-speed would add a lot of drivability.
Last I checked the 4.9l Inline 6 had more low end torque then the v8. Also damn more reliable then the old Windsor v8
Mark Wolf okay, but thats one specific v6 compared to a specific v8... invalid argument...
you know they sell that rag joint everywhere like autozone orilies i changed one out one an older car not too long ago
I've got a new one, just got to get it on.
is that a 6.0 powerstroke
Yes sir it is. 2004 6.0 with 170k.
C2H6 if i wanted a diesel truck, it would have to be a 6.0 f250, just love the sound that they make
Good Ole Ford Truck
I thought the steering was fixed.
I removed it again to replace brake lines, easier to do it with steering column out.
You can't kill a inline 6 my 71 f100 has a v8 but I love a straight 6
When is the next video
Unfortunately I have my diesel in my shop getting it repaired. Taking longer than expected. Hope to have another f100 vid up by mid February.
C2H6 ....I really enjoy your vids. I would love to restore my 73F100.please keep them coming on the progress. I might be able to get some ideas from you for mine. lol thanks
50 year old f100 > new diesel truck with flashy rims and a lift.
