- 1968 F100 driven out of the woods after 20 years of neglect (see previous videos at / @thunderhead289 )
It is now time to start the frame up restore of this classic. In this video we put fresh tires on it, put a good battery in, roll it up on the trailer, transport it to my house from my parents, get the choke adjusted, powerwasher the grime and dirt from 20 years of sitting in the woods, and start to fix the steering on the truck. Finish of the steering and brake lines to get the truck driveable still to come before body comes off for the winter.

So happy to see someone is saving the older trucks and stuff. It took me 12 years of trying to buy my 1964 Cadillac Coupe Deville seen it all the time just sitting rotting away.
Finally i stopped and ask and to my surprise he said yes, brought her home and the work began. took me a little while but she is good road worthy ride now. Keep up the good work sir.
The old guy Walking Awesome story for an awesome car
I have always liked Ford trucks of the 1960's and 1970's, so I am glad to see you bring this one back to life.
They made things so much more simple back in the day.
Thanks for sharing videos of your progress. I absolutely love 60s and 70s Ford trucks. That is pretty much all that my grandfather drove when I was growing up and he had a bunch of them of various years. As a result, I have very fond memories of them and it warms my heart not only to see you and I believe your brother work to get this one going after being parked for such a long time but also to see how easy it was to get going after 20 years of sitting. Damn you have me wanting to buy one now, especially with a three-on-the-tree. I absolutely love your truck and I hope that whomever parked it, if they are still with us gets the chance to take her out again.
Thanks, it's my dad's truck and I am redoing it for his 60th bday. Hopefully will be done in time. This process takes along time when you are just doing it on the side.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING I HAVE HAD SEVERAL O;LD FORDS ALWAYS LOVED THE OLDER TRUCKS
i REALLY LIKE HOW YOU PULLED THAT TRUCK OUT OF WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN IT'S FINAL RESTING PLACE I LOVE THE TRUCK
Great Video! you need a little narration at the glove box opening. "The correct technique for opening a stuck 1968 glove box lid is to take the correct sized screwdriver turn it around and bash the stuckified button with the handle 4-7 times repeat as necessary." Hahaha!
VRJensen1 that's very good. I'll have to remember that for future videos. Thanks for watching
what a cool video...........my dad had a 72 ford f250 with a 360 4 speed on the floor with granny low so technically a 3 speed, great old trucks
Love it had my dad had one of those seat covers in his 1978 f150 regular cab lol memories
Truck is pretty well preserved all things considered.
You could always have a couple of buds run alongside and kick the tires when ya want to turn....lol But hey, me pappy had a '70 F100 on the farm, same body style so it brings back old memories, THX for the vid's
wow, 20 year old music been trapped in radio but still is alive.
Can't wait to see the finished product
i dont know how i end up here but i enjoyed watching u mess around woth this truck. btw i watch the first video
la verdad son unos genios los mejores que he visto en reparación de camionetas abandonadas genios !!!!
god i would love to have that !!!!
It's turned out to be a much better truck than I originally antispated. Still a lot of cancer that needs fixed but they just don't make them like they used to
i love all those old engines when you pop the hood you can kind of guess what is what.
I really wish i could fix these things for a living. I had 7 of em when i was growing up. I know them inside n out very well.
More please on this truck. Thanks!
Sorry. My daily driver was down while I was doing an engine overhaul and finishing up insulating garage. Should have a new video soon.
Looking amazing
Destroyed dudes crib while he was having a lady guest...
NGC1433 lmao didn't even let the mouse handle
n'aww cute mouse loooong way from home and well that was his home!
Nice old truck I had one just like it Mike with cherry
Thanks
Mouse problem? KITTY KITTY KITTY!!!!!!! XD
By the way, please keep the inline 6. I know it can be tempting to do a V8 swap, my step-dad unfortunately, and to my dismay did one on his 1956 Chevy pickup (and mated it to a damn automatic transmission). His original engine was mated to a 4-speed with an ultra-low granny gear, I swear that thing could have pulled down a house in 1st gear. Inline 6s from the era were damn near bulletproof, they were so good and I think that the one in this truck really suits the truck well. I would love to see the truck stay as original as possible.
Definitely keeping the inline 6. Trying to stay as original as possible. Engine is solid and cannot ask for any better after sitting for so long
brian5o Kinda late reply but agreed. I daily drive a 78 Nova with a 250 inline six, sucker runs like a dream even 40 years later and is so easy to work on. L6 engines really were a masterpiece of engineering
I love the inline 6s aint nothing like em
10-15 hour days. man i know that feeling all too well.
That would be a good coyote swap truck
Optional deer mice. Must be a Deluxe model! In "Mamaw May At Large", Mamaw May (A deer mouse) and her family live in a 1930 Chevrolet truck (Setting in the early 1940's)
nice truck
Thanks
Damn mice had a king size bed did I see a big screen 54 inch in there too?
56 inch to be exact.
Gave a Thumbs Up ! Happy Holidays !
I had one of those exact trucks in 1982/83...3 speed inline 6. It was red with 8 foot box. $ 200.00 bucks even then. In Indiana you did not need both front and rear plates just rear. My Front plate Said Beaters Are Neater>.
at first glance, I thought it was a giant wasp nest in the glove box lol. I would have been gone
the mice :'D I guess that was the best part
6:10 That is the mouse that reported a stolen Ford pickup !
if you restore this truck, please keep it the same color.
I am planning on it
C2H6 reminds me of the color on the older bronco's of the late 60s your lucky nice project to have to work on
1968 and The emergency flasher is still being put in the glove box.
Those mice had it made until you came along lol.
Man, I would have wiped the window down first chance I got and make a clean place on the dash. I'd have probably washed it too but then that's the kind of stuff I feel competent to do, the stupid easy stuff. That said there is mildew growing on the side of my 20 year old Toyota Tacoma. Since the paint started going on the roof and the hood I've ceased to care a whole lot about how clean it is and a good rain is my truck wash these days. But with the really old antique cars and trucks I'd want to see just how much paint was left or about how bad the windshield glass is. It's easy to have some wet towels and to wipe stuff down and later throw them in the wash. But I sweat the small stuff because I don't venture into the technical stuff. So my priorities are far from a mechanic's priorities.
📻🎶🎵🎶If the glove box a rockin, don't come a knockin!!!🎵🎶🎵 Horny mouse got interrupted by a home invasion!!!
Kinda disappointed to not see a power washing video
I love the song Parachute by cris Stapleton
Mickey has been Evicted!!
Dude don't touch that mouse nest with bare hands. Hantavirus is real!
For some reason mice love glove boxes to make a home in.
the mouse made me laugh so hard
Brandon Godoy Mices...🖒
Jelsick nope the plural is mice
Joke
Jelsick sorry m8
No problem.
great video you all did a good job rescuing her.kudos.... fix your audio on your camera. on this video there wasnt any sound. I'm almost deaf and I could follow the first video ok. but this one no sound. good luck.
@ 6:08 HOME INVASION!! :-)
Hard to hear at times but awesome man. Burnouts soon?
Ford using that same FL 1 A OIL FILTER TODAY
should have left the patina next time leave body as is
bro u should start a donation found see if anyone's down to help restore that awesome truck
Ford? Chevy? VW? WHAT IS IT MAN, LAY IT OUT!!!
They dont make trucks like they used too...
they don't make anything like they used to, especially gasoline!!! and mechanics are now crapjob scammers
and most cars die before hitting 200,000 miles
PCVideos In High Definition ummmm dude NEW cars dont last longer take it from a guy that has to work on damn new cars alot, or "did" now i work with my bud on classics like this all day long
where are parts 2 and 3?
that looks like a 77 or older truck to me
Why don't they build trucks like that anymore.. no senors.. just basic good truck you can work on?
Im still trying to figure out how those mice got into a sealed glovebox?..are there holes thru the engine bodyside?
Im sure there is a rust hole. That truck is filled with cancer.
Aside from the holes, the glove boxes on these trucks are just cardboard and staples. I'm honestly more surprised that it hadn't already fallen completely out than the rat.
What are the plans for it, full restoration?
Frame up restore, just need to get room in the garage to start on it
is this a 300 or 240 inline 6 my 79 4wd is just like this same shape besides my bed is rusted out but everything thats wrong with is same as mine
Jacob Drum this is a 240. Originally was wanting to swap it out for a v8 but it just runs too dang good.
Are your cab mounts broken? it looks like part of your problem
Ya they are pretty much non existent. Going to be the largest issue with the steering lining up.
when is the next video of the f100
Just put it up, sorry for the long delay
What is the original color called? I have a 68 ranger and our color is lunar green and this looks similar
Chris Panos I have not looked at the paint code but from what I just googled it is quite possibly that lunar green.
is that a new radio?
The radio has been in there for at least 30 years. Not sure if it is factory or not, i would like to find out.
C2H6 Looks like an early 80's retro fit unit. Maybe later 70's.
is truck for sale i'm 78 and in 0r trapped in northern Califopnia been driving fords since the flat head days and can't find one that someone has put a v 8 in i'm old and like my old 6's Carl
Truck is not for sale. Sorry
Part 5?
Just put it up
what song is that
I got it off the link in the description. Not sure what it's called.
i ment i like 6 cyl's.
Great vid very Poor sound
go ford
thats not a 300 - its a 292
It's a 240
This vid was gay
James Palmer A 292, is a GM engine. Both Ford and GM,straight sixes could out last the trucks they came in.
George Boyd nah
James Palmer I know someone who had a 1988 F150 with the 300 straight 6 in it. It had over a million miles on it. All original with documentation from Ford to prove it. Only reason he got rid of it was the body was rusting away. Local Ford dealer here bought it. I have a 1996 F150 with the 300 6 and it's got almost 400,000 on it now. those old straight 6's are workhorses. Only thing that'll kill em is improper maintenance.
i was hoping youd kill the mice i fucking hate mice
Punk Tattoo Guy Are you named after the guy described on that AfterPrison youtube channel?
Punk Tattoo Guy I love mice
He has to be. I'v never heard that phrase anywhere else. XD
id just suck out that glovebox with a shopvac. then suck up some water haha I'm cruel
That would be a good coyote swap truck
