$13k in australia and it has 7 amplifiers only--- youd have to be stupid to pay that for a 7 channel amp, its half as good as denon, yamaha, maratnz etc, people pay more and think it sounds better, it buggy--- its overpriced, its a scam

You should use the umik-1 for Dirac and not the supplied mic. Also you can use the web interface instead of the remote. Type in the IP address in a browser. I've been using the Arcam AVR10 for years. Just months after it's initial release and been around for most of the firmwares. I'm curious how it compares to the xmc-2 you have been used to it's sound.

My xmc-2 is in the box since 3 months ago, bought arcam avr30 open box on best buy magnolia for $1400 😊, bought dirac live bass control, and let me tell you is the best sounding avr I have ever had.

Unlike its stable mates, the arcam AVR 31 is class G amplification. Therefore if one is running the AVR31, one would be wise to utilise it's audiophile sound of internal amplification. Considering you have nine channels, the conundrum you're gonna run into, whether to run the other two speakers with class g amplification. If you do indeed wish to keep them all class g. Arcam also provides a 2-channel class g poweramp. The 'PA 240' has 225 watt per channel. Which would be perfect for your means.
I also run 9 channels with an arcam setup, but unfortunately for me I couldn't afford the class g, so I went with the arcam avr20 with a couple of matching 'pa410' 4 channel Poweramps (Atmos/frontstage) the one benefit of going this way.. when a two channel rendered movie is playing it becomes very easy to turn off the Atmos channels.
    Decisions, decisions.
Whatever way you decide to go good luck.
Btw with an arcam AVR, Apple TV seems to override other sources.

Pretty badass AVR. With the AV40 coming in I think it’s a good opportunity to do an AVR vs. AVP comparison.
Also, just a bit of knowledge. Arcam, JBL synth., Audiocontrol and Lexicon are all owned by Harman. All of their processors and receivers are all based on the exact same architecture. If you look at the backs of them you’ll see it’s all the same. Just some different features and minor hardware tweaks.

Not any fault of yours, but for 6k I would have liked to seen XLR inputs. Can't wait for you to get this into your system and I think your going to like the Auro 3d just from an upmixing standpoint as you can adjust the level of upmixing you want done. I'm so happy your finally getting to review products.

Thank you!!! Most avrs don’t have xlr and this is technically that. The av41 coming is a prepro and it’ll have xlr. I understand why they did that. The xlr takes up a lot of room like speaker binding post and internal amperage.

@@wendellwendellb339 oh yeah I understand. It’s definitely a lot of work only to go back to my own equipment. Soooooo I been thinking about taking my 2 car garage that I don’t park in and turn it into another theater but for testing equipment and furniture and such. That way I don’t have to mess with my personal theater all the time. It’s just a thought but I gotta make some things happen first.

@@myhometheater7029 After testing the unit, do you have to send it back? Isn’t that AVR better than your current unit? See, they would send me something better than what I have, and I would want to keep it. I don’t know how that all works, but, I wouldn’t want to send it back!

The Arcam AVR31 sits near the top of Arcam’s 2022 range of AVR’s!
