You would only get the full benefit of Auro 3D encoded discs if you have height speakers above your mains and back surround speakers. The upmixer is nice to have, as it can sound pretty good on 2.1, 5.1 and 7.1 soundtracks

Yes, that color thing sounds like an HDMI cable. I had the same thing. Ignore the ceiling wiring.. just run strait from the AVR to the projector, then wire if it works.
Check your white balance on your video camera BTW.. your washed out.

You don’t necessarily need the VOG to use Auro 3D. I can use the Auro 3D upmixer and I don’t have VOG. I have a 5.4.6 setup!

Try disconnecting the HDMI cable (with the Apple TV/AVR/Projector or TV on as well) from the Projector/TV and plugging back him. Believe it or not this has solved my issue in the recent past
I know I sound like the first thing corporate tech support offers up as a solution to all the world’s tech problems but after spending an hour trying to figure out why in the hell my Apple TV suddenly ‘shit the bed’ this is what worked for me!
Definitely should not use the calibration from the AVR31 on the AV41. At a minimum your levels could end up all out of whack as the processor and the receiver will have different output sensitivities and will be driving your amps at different voltages. Not to mention the difference in using single ended outputs & inputs to using balanced. Just as a rule of thumb should always re-measure and re-calibrate when switching any gear in the signal chain except for sources.

@@myhometheater7029 Probably will be fine to try. It's annoying though. I ran dirac so many times in my first year or so. Took a while to really learn how to maximize it for me and my room. Now Im definitely enjoying not having to mess with it very often. So, having to do it a bunch of times for gear you aren't going to keep would definitely be annoying.

Hello I have a question about the Arcam I just purchased a Avr 30 brand new factory sealed, I am having a issue with no sound from my reel to reel, or cd player connected thru rca waiting on my project tube preamp for my fluance 85n , everything works through my onkyo setup . I can get tv sound to speakers and Bluetooth music from my phone to play and radio also plays. Do I need to configure the analog inputs some kind of way to get a output thru them? Also I am at 1.46 fw I found 1.60 on the site but not sure if I should update before I get the music working. Or do I have a defective unit, I am only gonna use it for 2.1 reel and vinyl music and added volume for TV watching in that room already have denon, onkyo, and sonos surround systems in three other room. I sent a email to arcam but have yet to get a response
Hi, after heard you talking about Master and commander, and about the sound tracks. I have both DVD and Bluray, the DVD sound is DTS and the Bluray is DTS-HD, and like you, was hard pressed to tell the difference, hope this helps with both disc's.
Hi good I can guide you a little bit about auro 3d,I have had the arcam avr31 with an auro 3d setup and the truth you are planning to change your speaker layout since you have 6 recessed no? Auro 3d uses front heights and god voice and center hight..i have had this setup which is 7.2.6 and if you do upmix with auro 3d the dioa voice and center hight have little information and i would say it is the same sound as the heights but with a little delay dsp or something..for me if you do upmix it is not worth it.
Different case is if you do auro 3d native that here if you improve enough to upmix,but there are few titles natively.
For my taste I always preferred the speakers of heights in the auro 3d layout that the typical dolby atmos that you have although the embedded with the dolby horizon demo that comes out the rain if you use dolby atmos the water falls on your head and if you use auro 3d does not make it so real.
By the way if you have six subwoofer you can't use 7.6.6 as your title says because you can only do 7.4.6 if you use basscontroll (dlbc).
I used to have a denon avc x8500h and in my opinion auro3d upmix does a little better than arcam,but arcam in general sounds better than denon top.

You'd probably be better off with the Magnetar UDP-800 4K Blu-ray player if the picture didn't look that great with the Panasonic.

@@myhometheater7029 If you upload the video published, its not finished rendering. People can view it early before its processed. Upload them, and when they finish, THEN publish them public possibly.
