10:15 You probably already know this, but what you're likely experiencing is super-adiabatic lapse rate.
I deal with it a lot in this environment thanks to the ridiculous temperature fluctuations between the sun-baked surface and the super-dry, relatively cool atmosphere... Tends to get pretty choppy between 2 & 4k feet.
I really only climb in the early mornings and late afternoons.

Love your videos. As an AZ resident, I've always wanted to fly around those peaks. Your videos are the sole reason i want to get into this even though it's 120 degrees during the summer months.Thank you for this one!

Supposedly some serious gold stashes out there from the old mining days. Excellent rock climbing, some brave base jumpers, but endless hikes! You can access public lands from there all the way up to Flagstaff. That peak at 9:35 is where I filmed my podcast/UA-cam intro with my drone. Love that hike. Starts in the Lost Dutchman State Park right below, trail 52 I think

Used to live in Phoenix as a kid in the mid 60’s for couple years and my dad took me out there to those mountains when I was like eight or nine years old and that’s one of the few things I remember well from out there ....I vividly remember seeing a cave in a sheer wall and thinking that has to be where the lost Dutchman’s gold mine was. I remember thinking as a kid the only way to get to the cave would be sliding down a rope. I have not seen that place in 50 years, I wonder that’s the same cave. Also remember there was abandoned old west town near there, and 50 years ago there wasn’t anybody out there anywhere, now I see houses everywhere on your vids.

You're at the Bulldog Canyon entrance. That's not an easy one to find either. Great job! Weavers Needle was just East of you in the background which is a GREAT hiking trail with TONS of rock fingers. There was a REALLY great pizza place not 5 minutes from you. Going out at HWY 87, turn right and the first place on your left. I used to live in the morning shadow of that mountain. The MOON rising was what sold me on it. It was like an AAAAHHHHHHHHhhhhh moment. And I rented it!! climbed that mountain about 10 times in my life. Not sure I can do it again, but haven't ruled it out just yet. It's great in the winter when there is the reward of snow on the top.

Tucker, I've been enjoying your videos for awhile now. At 75 I can't do most of the adventurous things I used to like hiking , SCUBA, and skydiving but I can vicariously have a bit of fun watching your journey. Today I have joined as a Patreon to exchange for the pleasure. PS- After getting a hip joint replaced soon; I'm planing on getting training with quad, or trike, paramotor this summer.

Great flight! If you haven’t been already, you will love Valley of Fire!!!! It looks as amazing as it sounds. Rent a Harley in Vegas and rode along Lake Meade to the back entrance and rode around the park for the rest of the day. Rode out through the reservation to get back to the strip. Highly suggest that route into the park if you can. Safe travels and safe flying!

Have fun in the Valley of Fire State Park. I went there back in the day and camped out for 3 days with my Boy Scout troop in February and nearly froze my ass off. Definitely some tricky hiking while trying to climb up brilliant formations of eroded sandstone without sliding of the trail. Beautiful red sand dunes too. Parts of the movie “Total Recall” were filmed there.

One thing is for sure Tucker, after you end this current tour of traveling through the States you should be able to tell your subscribers where they might have difficulty Para motoring if they want to go to some of the places you did. That means knowing ahead of time how dangerous certain locations might be to fly at and if the local regulations even let you fly there at all or at least make you fill out legal paperwork or purchase a permit of some kind.

I don't miss yanking quills out of my skin with pliers, but I do miss seeing the various cacti around there. 😁
Hitting a saguaro would be just like hitting a tree back home ... only with spines on it. They're like solid wood! Never knew that until I saw them close up. Owls make nests in some of them too, up high - saw a few of those at night. You'll see the holes.
