    Perhaps Tucker can back me up on this one. It always amazes me how so many UA-cam commenters assume international travel is too expensive or impossible.
    Iceland is one of the cheapest destinations to reach by flight. As of matter of fact, when WOW Air was in service, I flew directly to Reykjavik out of CLEVELAND, OHIO for $270 round-trip.
    Since these budget airlines have forced the price of overseas travel down to an all-time low, I’ve been able to visit various parts of Europe TWICE in one year and 4 times since 2016.
    In my neck of the woods here in Ohio, I think we have a few cultural deterrents that hinder overseas travel.
    The first issue is that everyone appears to think traveling to Europe is prohibitively expensive as it was three decades ago. There also seems to be an irrational fear of safety abroad, even in sparsely-populated industrialized nations like Iceland. Perhaps the biggest issue of all is that the general population is unfamiliar with geography and nobody knows what’s beyond our borders.
    Doesn’t it get boring to visit the same beach in Myrtle Beach or Florida every single year?

    • @aDarkRedJungle
      @aDarkRedJungle 4 роки тому

      I agree with the sentiment, but not the particulars. I've been to about 50 countries. Of those 50, Iceland was far and away among the most expensive. The flight ticket was certainly cheap, relative to other transatlantic fares, but day-to-day living is not. I think I spent less exploring London than I did in Reykjavik. Heck--I hitchhiked around the Ring Road, and I struggled to keep a straight budget eating gas station food and camping.
      But I was only 20 at the time. I wouldn't mind going back to Iceland--it is a genuinely beautiful place--but I think I'll save the trip for a time when I've a bit more money. In the meantime, there are plenty of cheap flights across Latin America.

    • @Jack-hy5ju
      @Jack-hy5ju 4 роки тому +1

      I also agree with the sentiment but Iceland is on of the single most expensive places for holidays in the whole bloody world. Your statement regarding Iceland was so incredibly wrong it's staggering..

    • @melanderhart8452
      @melanderhart8452 4 роки тому +2

      I disagree with both assessments here on the cost of Iceland. I’m from the Toronto area and made a honeymoon trip there with my wife in 2018. It’s what you make of it. We found cheap Airbnb accommodations and a number of low-cost bus tours, including Golden Circle. At the end of the day, cheap airfare taken into account, we spent less than $1.100 on the entire trip.
      I reckon the folks above me are used to being pampered and worshipped in the likes of Thailand and Jamaica for a mere loonie.

    • @Jack-hy5ju
      @Jack-hy5ju 4 роки тому +1

      @@melanderhart8452 you'll always find some cheap deals. However, and this is backed up by concrete facts. The cost of living in Iceland is crazy. It's even more expensive than Switzerland, which let me tell you is insanely pricey. Once again I am not saying you can't find some good deals, there's always a way to get cheap holidays. But saying Iceland is a cheap holiday destination because of cheap flights is ludicrous. Which is what the original comment stated.

    • @melanderhart8452
      @melanderhart8452 4 роки тому +2

      Oliver Roberts I’ll defend OP on this point as well. Two round trip tickets to Southeast Asia would have cost more than our entire trip to Iceland in airfare alone despite the low cost of living. Flights to the Caribbean at the time would’ve also easily put us over budget at that time, even if we could find cheap accommodation. It certainly was a factor for us but nonetheless enjoyed our time in Iceland.

    I would have to say that the first canyon you flew in, the narrow one, was the best! The rock formations were just out of this world amazing! The sharp angles, the pillars, tunnels, and contrasting green, grey, black, and white water, made it look like another planet all together. The close quarters even made me nervous just watching! The larger canyons although epic in their own, was not as intimate and intimidating as the first. Great VLog Tucker, I am SOOOOO jealous of your adventure, and wish I could be there instead of just watching. Stay safe and I hope you have lot of fun! Cheers from Winnipeg.

    Just as inspiring as the first from the previous series, which convinced me to fly in the first place. Epic stuff, mate. Can't wait to see the rest.

    Jeez that's probably the most beautiful flight I've seen. I'd kill to fly there! Do you take your motor with you on the plane or just borrow one?

    Neat video. Gave me a flashback to when I was flying over the same areas in a Navy Helicopter or a C-47. Great fishing too!
