4:06 In case you’re wondering why Bob-ombs do this, when you grab a Bob-omb, it’s placed at a fixed point in front of Mario. This is fine normally, but if you catch the Bob-omb after it has started exploding, it will be bigger, and its held hitbox will intersect with Mario. This makes the game push Mario backwards to try and make the two hitboxes not intersect, which doesn’t work since the Bob-omb is constantly moved to a fixed distance away from Mario, causing the constant backwards movement.

While I'm here, minor correction: My PU route is actually slower than Snark's, the time save comes from Plush and Luigihaxd's faster movement. Snark's PU route doesn't work on console, so that's why my route is preferred.

I did the technical stuff for EZScape's vid and I just found this vid. You got everything right (thanks Pannen LOL) except for that the wall kicks that actually get Mario up to the house aren't glitchy, they are actually just normal wall kicks that look weird due to Mario being constantly pushed back by the bobomb. You can tell because they mirror Mario's angle by the wall he wall kicks off of, even if the bobomb makes it look weird. Other than that great vid! I like the minor clips interspersed showing off the little technical things in a better way.

beating this game at 5-6 years old felt like a grand achievement. Then I had to endure the water temple...
Since I was in my late teens in the late 90's and early 2000's my contract was forfeit from the get go. I however did play the game and that particular course in the MID 90's specifically, again forgoing any legally binding obligations. Though officially pro bono work, my play through was compensated for "under the table"; the IRS still hasn't nor will ever see a dime of that money.

I just got into watching speedruns, I have no complaints on two videos about the same thing! Multiple viewpoints are super interesting and I really love learning this stuff. Dunno if I'll ever speedrun myself but it's really cool to learn about the mechanics and history. I'm really glad the algorithm actually did something useful and recommend me this video!

I just love how amazingly capable the mario character is and how there always seems to be at least 2 ways to accomplish a star in this game. It’s so weird that it didn’t occur to me, and many others, to not wall jump at certain points.. like the developers knew you could cut levels in half with certain jumps or they didn’t, it’s hard to tell.

i remember being fascinated by TAS speedruns of mario 64 as a kid way back around 2010, it's so interesting to see how much this game's mechanics have been dissected at this point.
