That’s something I noticed but couldn’t place exactly. The one guy used as a real example with some white cloth over his face and a blank wall, looked like his soul exited his body lol.
Yeah, those “blindfolds” are see through in the majority of these runs I bet. If runners wanna make it believable, have a vid camera of him looking away from the monitor with a blindfold on.
his clear lack of understanding of normalised strategies is the funniest. clearly in his mind it's 'doing a random sequence of inputs before the intended next action'.
My favorite quotes from sarcastic chat members: Yungest Gravy- "Dang he must've been practicing this for months off stream then cuz to memorize these patterns would take hundreds of hours of practice." Yungest Gravy- "Did he just chase a 1-up?" Efrain Hernandez- "So you're blindfolded but you can read comments." Yungest Gravy- "The guy who has world record setups for the tail grabs incredible that you can bonk on Bowser and grab his tail." Yungest Gravy (the legend): "So would you be opposed to doing Bowser in the sky and throws when turned around with a blanket over your head and if you can do it as well as you did in the previous run I'll give you $50? As a challenge to prove, if not I understand (that you're a lying wank)." Leonardo Do Carmo Pontes- "Play ONE MATCH with your back to the camera..." Yungest Gravy- "Hey so do you think you could do Bowser throws with a pillow over your face? Just wondering. It would be a good way to verify." Conclusion: Yungest Gravy MVP of the chat.
Any other runner would have done it right there just to prove it and probably not even taken the money. The guys who actually put all the work in take it seriously
no, you have to get hit by a goomba and say "Ah yes. I am located near the Bob-omb Battlefield 8 coin star. I must now head 16 steps Southeast to get one of the coins. After that I must head back and retrieve the Superstar."
The one game I ever played blindfolded was Rhythm Heaven, specifically the song with the guy eating dumplings. You could do that purely by listening cause it's not like you had to turn a camera or move a character, so like you don't have to be an expert to do it. I don't even want to THINK about playing this game blindfolded, omg. Props to speedrunners! Cheating always sucks to see because people who do it for real practice and work so hard.
Well people don’t have time to process these things in their brain while they are live. Also it’s a feeling of trust to somebody you know (maybe). That’s why everybody is a dumbass here , to be blunt.

Congratulations to any actual blind fold speed runners out there, who put actual hard work and effort into their videos. You all have amazing talents for video games, you are the true entertainment!
The big tipper here is the fact that when he does just about anything, his head tilts back in the same direction, presumably towards his screen. Dude spends 50 seconds talking about Bowser throws and turning his head directly towards his camera for it, then turns back to make the throw. It's actually pretty sad that someone would sit there for an hour, in front of an audience, for a charade like this.
19:25 most obvious que he can see, apart from his head movements and gameplay, he just reached for his keyboard (even tilting the head down to go for the see-through section of the seefold) and then remembers shit I have to take my 'blind'fold off
and 50 dollars. 50 dollars in 5min for something, you just did and had the pressure of a complete speedrun with you, but now just do it directly without any consequences
In his defence, he's asked whether he's "opposed" to doing that. Him answering with "no" suggests that he wasn't opposed and was therefore willing to do it.
Honestly, if I were to fake a blindfolded run, I would at least learn SOME strategies. That 1-Up chase was absolutely hilarious, this is like the Badabun run but on steroids.
He clearly learned regular speenrun strats and realized he was very far from a sub 30 min run and just decided that he could pretend to do it blindfolded with zero knowledge of what that entails...
At least this guy actually played the game and knows SOME speedrunning strats. Badabun was just putting other people's videos together and called it their own
@@silverman1205 honestly I think that makes it worse. I don't think Tavo understood at the time how serious it was to the community involved since he wasn't really a part of it. He was a casual making a video for casuals. This guy knew what he was doing
Notice he is always facing his monitor as well. He never looks away. Other blindfolded runners are always leaning in and out, moving their ears towards where they believe the screen is. This is a normal human function, even if we have earphones in we will still move around to try and hear better
He also slowly turns his head a lot during the entire thing. Great example at 13.09. He can't help but turn his head when spinning on the circular stone.
@@dream_walker9726 I'm just talking about how he didn't even match our basic human functions. Like when your scared of someone, you won't look at them often and you will very rarely look into their eyes when talking. Plus you'll probably talk shit about them to
i mean to someone who hasnt even played the game it can make sense that bowser throws are controlled by that, as in if you hold up on the joystick he will go away from the camera, back he will spin then stop at towards the camera, etc.
@@tannerteddo I've never played the game but unless Bowser causes some sort of rumble when you're looking a certain direction relative to him (which he doesn't) there's no way that could be a thing lol
@@timetribe Read the video description. He is responding to a tts message before the specific clip started. This video probably just edited it out because it wasn't important, without realizing it gave an incorrect impression.
"So in order to throw Bowser into the bomb, I'm launching a penny into space and calculating the trajectory in the targeted area of Jupiter to slingshot off it's gravity well to then return to Earth, completely avoiding burning up in the atmosphere. Once I hear the penny ding off my roof, I know when to throw him" would have been an equally believable response.

@@thequirkyunicorn9526 Which is pretty much why cheating is so rampant in the speed running community. They all cover these scumbags from hate they deserve so the only downside to cheating is temporary embarrassment. There are multiple high profile speedrunners who have been caught cheating multiple times and this attitude towards cheating is why many of them seem to "make a mistake" like this numerous times. Him grabbing the Penguin should’ve been the icing on the cake that he wasn’t actually blindfolded. He literally walked to it and knew where it was right away.

@Neko Koshaichi w-what..? okay, first off, there is obvious proof this guy is faking? did you watch the video? they aren't just 'saying its fake'. i dont understand your point about speedrunning in general being cheating at all. cheating is, simply put, exploiting or breaking certain rules, right? video games.. dont have rules. you can cheat/fake a speedrun itself because there are rules to speedrunning and its categories. please rewatch the video. i dont think you understand anything it was saying/doing.
@Neko Koshaichi You’re the type of guy to have a teammate in CSGO hack and kill all your opponents in two seconds while standing still and call that just being pro. And then when the person gets kicked, you walk out and a random grenade kill you and you start screaming in the mic about how that dude is wall hacking.
I love how Badabun has become such a meme among the speedrunning community, considering how hated they are in the Spanish speaking community. Makes me happy
The biggest red flag should have appeared during the end of the run when you see him think about whether or not he should do the $50 for Bowser in the sky. He took a couple of seconds before answering it, knowing that he'd been caught. It's honestly sad because I prayed actual legit blindfold speed runners in the hours and the preparation that they take to do it.
Another thing, you can clearly see him changing camera angles in the middle of precise movements that he wouldn’t need to do if he was actually blindfolded.
if you go in the description its stated that the same guy in chat was one that notified the creator of this video that this was a cheated run so he knew all along.

if you go in the description its stated that the same guy in chat was one that notified the creator of this video that this was a cheated run so he knew all along.
13:30
@ wow ur right
i think that was a guy who wasn't part of the regular crowd and was familiar with blindfolded runs and knew what was up. If you follow the chat he clearly suspects something and at the end he asks him to play with the blanket over his head lol.
This guy did an 11 minutes apology video and I will speedrun it for you:
"It was just a joke, I'm sorry YOU thought it was real"
Do you have the link?
link?
Link bro
Why would anyone want a link to watch 11 minutes of garbage??? The man already gave u the TLDR after suffering thru it himself
@@RayvenFeather I mean some people like to not just go off of what people tell them, they probably want to see the link to
1: know that there is actually a video
2: judge for themselves if the apology is garbage or no.
Also, the fact that he said "Literally just muscle memory" after all the good plays
“DID HE JUST CHASE A 1UP” -some random probably actually sane person in the chat
oh it was the same dude who challenged his blindfolded stuff
Time?
@@notnicofied 13:30 is when you first see the comment in chat
at 14:17 someone in the chat literally said 'did he just chase a 1UP'

Same guy that made the bet with him
It was the same man who challenged him to bowser throw with a blanket over his head
$50 bucks to do what he did before, just facing another direction, and he says no. Obvious faker.
Yeah who wouldn't do that for 50$ unless you can't do it

At 13:31, look at the chat.
„How the fuck your doing this blindfolded”
„How long has he been doing this”
„Did he just chase a 1up”
He was making people suspicious as he played.
I find it hilarious that even by having the ability to see, he still is worse than the people who are actually blindfolded lmao
It's because the actually blindfolded people are actually talented. This guy is pretty trash
@@tiedeman39 ik. ;-;
@@tiedeman39 tbf if he did actually get this time it would be pretty good!
@@OptimusTraps bro getting a sub hour in your third run would already be fucking insane… If he would have beaten one off the greatest it wouldn’t even be a question if it was faked
the cringe is his cap tbh so obvious
“I’ll give you $50 if you can do the same thing you just did supposedly blindfolded” I feel like that was the biggest sign. If you’re good at it that’s basically a free $50. But instead he just said “*No*” bruh
Time stamp?

Faking a blindfolded speedrun has the same energy as that South Park episode where Cartman pretends to be disabled to win special olympics
except what Cartman did was hilarious and this is just pathetic and lame
