at least Halo 6 has the greatest potential now of any halo game, flood, banished, created, and the allied species are going to be cool to see... assuming 343 doesnt screw it up.
That the first infected brute just calmly walked out to herald the return of the flood shows that gravemind or no, the flood have at least enough mental capacity to indulge in the mockery of others fuckups, and the enjoyment of dramatic effect. That and being sentient enough to bask in the moment of freedom renewed. All this just keeps them at the top of their game as the ultimate threat in all of halo thus far.
I think it was to be more dramatic to emphasise the flood being released. I think in all likelyhood the flood in their feral stage would just attack on sight. However this dlc doesnt really make clear whether the proto-gravemind was formed before the flood were released or afterwards. I am inclined to think the former since creating a proto-gravemind that large would take a huge amount of time. Especially since the proto-gravemind we see in Halo CE was tiny in comparison.
@@oreroundpvp896 I'd say likely at least the beginnings of a proto. even if life was wiped by the firing of the halo, there was probably enough biomass left of the flood specifically to scrap together and form some kind of being with relative cognitive ability. You can see it even in how they attacked. THey used special flood forms that seemed specifically designed for entrapping prey rather than killing it. Willing to bet this new "mind" of sorts understood at least enough to know the moment it was freed it would need to gather enough live specimens to feed itself.
@Justin Ballard, just a opinion but who doesn't agree? A lot of people. Hence, this entire post. Sure it is your opinion, but don't have arrogant enough to say shit like 'who doesn't agree'. Bungie cutscenes is a joke. They also completely fucked up the backstory and halo lore with Halo: Reach. There is a reason why they didn't make halo 4. It wasn't because they couldn't, but because they CHOSE not to. Stop acting like bungie is god or some shit., and stop blindly hating on 343.
Lol if bungie themselves added you as contact. First, to answer that question: no. Second, you have no idea how a company works do yeah? What are you, 12? lmao. Look up the definition of an opinion. I don't think you understand what an opinion is. Opinion doens't need validation. It is YOURS. Only when you state them as facts do you need validation. At the point, it is no longer an opinion.

@@ttv_mrjack6749 I mean to be fair, they _know_ that enemies 'assaulted' the place and thus caused its destruction. Perfectly reasonable that he still thought the stories were bullshit. But the second he saw that the Sentinels were guarding it with increased ferocity should've scared him at least a bit regarding what was inside.
@@mortarion9813 He probably thought the sentinels were doing what they always do to threats on the Ark. Though it is surprising that a large majority of the Ark's heavy duty sentinels weren't tasked with defending High Charity given the Flood inside.

One of the things that set Halo 2 apart from many FPS games where the main character is the hero is how you got to play from the Covenant perspective in Halo 2.
That's why the novels are great. Almost every single Halo novel has the story told from two perspectives; one the 'main' character(usually human), and another from a Covenant member or two.
Rhas 'Churol I was always hoping that when they did updated version of the original 3 novels that they would add in Thel 'Vadam's POV into the story considering his massive role in the Fall of Reach, Alpha Halo's battle & destruction, and the aftermath of the battles leading into Halo 2, but alas we were robbed of such a great perspective. Contact Harvest had an interesting Covenant POV with the beginning of the war, the politics involved within the hierarchy, the history of their empire, etc.
One thing I really like about Awakening Nightmare is the way it portrayed the Brutes - they're not just mindless monsters here. They're people with actual personalities.
Ever since Halo 2, I always saw them as mindless meat heads who thought with their muscles but after Halo Wars 2 and Infinite, they proven to be very intelligent beings and my once non existent respect for them skyrocketed and their one of my favorite alien species along with the Elites and Grunts
Pretty much the first Brute we see in the series is Tartarus, who might not have been the best character but certainly wasn't mindless. I think the main issue is compared to the elite's we just don't get to see them as often outside of combat. Very few of the games have significant brute characters, so we usually just had combat and whatever idle behaviour they showed before while their guard was down.
Nemesis Prime. Yeah you're right, but it still doesn't mean they wouldn't be slightly terrified, yes the could have probably held it off but with a lot of losses and the Flood are still mother fucking scary (not to mention they have less forces than from the first)
Toxic Coffee Well the marines and odsts would stile be insanly scared fighting the flood again and would die but Red team will tear them all apart spartans aren't scared of anything they have one goal its to kill i would have loved to see them destroying the flood again maybe we will get another dlc for the the flood in the future but this time it focus on the UNSC side of the story.
You know if you think about the Banished are the first ever main halo faction to fight against the flood and actually won. That's one hell of an achievement in my book.
6 years late, I know lol but you could count the Elites, maybe? Though they did keep High Charity contained for a month or so, they DID successfully contain the Flood for a bit until they did manage to break out. Not to mention that the Flood was unable to spread beyond Voi
Yeah cuz they are primarily led by the brutes, some are strong enough to even take out/kill spartans, and even take spartan locked helmet in the campaign in infinite
The truth is that Atriox is a highly competent and inspiring leader. Ontop of that, Covenant plasma weaponry naturally counters the parasite. Lastly, Brutes have super strength exceeding Spartan IIs which means the Flood’s primary overwhelm and assimilate tactics are less effective against them (atleast until a Gravemimd has been created).
_It's amazing how 'human' these brutes act._ _The brotherhood, the ingenuity, the way they fight. It's arguable that the Brutes may be the most human of aliens._

Yeah, lets praise 343, and completely forget about the horrible way they treated The Master Chief Collection and Halo 4?. Or about how they insist on having a black guy for a staring character even though no one likes locke. They even forced him to have more missions than Master Chief... wtf. The only job 343 has done right, is killing halo.
YaNoAwantoMas What does him being black have to do with anything at all? I somewhat agree with everything else though but that one complaint was just petty.
They probably knew of the Flood, just somehow didn't believe High Charity had been overtaken by it. The UNSC recon team were probably checking out activity but were well aware of what they were dealing with.
@Let Volir Banished Shipmaster Yeah, that one's probably the most likely. The Covenant were aware of what the Flood were, even before the Battle of Installation 04, and it was part of their scripture as one of the tests they would face on the Great Journey. Given all the other lies the Banished were fed back during their time in the Covenant, many in the Banished probably just chalked it up to yet *another* Covenant lie.
@@abloodraven3856 The Flood is the sole reason the Covenant wasn't very fond of AIs. One of the survivors of High Charity asked ONI if the blue AI he saw while escaping has been destroyed.
The entire area was glassed by the Sangheili with UNSC approval to prevent such a thing from happening on Earth again. If there was still a single spore or infection form on Earth, we would have seen an outbreak in Halo 4 or 5. We do know that The Flood WILL return, and in Halo Wars 2, they did in some capacity, but as far as any infection forms or Flood spores on Earth...Not likely, given the entire area around it was glassed, they used the same tactic to clean up and quaratine other Halo installations that had minor or even major Flood outbreaks.
DemonElite Well, I remember that one of the Halo 5's mission had a facility with flood spores but they weren't activated. Maybe ONI retrieved the spore.
here is one thing that can happen Voridus could rush to fight a spartan not knowing who its is and then get hurt so he learns not to be so foolhardy and the spartan would be 117 aka the master chief
@@zacktaft imagine the dialogue: Pavium: Voridus! What happened? Voridus: I fought a large green Spartan. Pavium: Are you an idiot! That was Master Chief! Voridus: oops.
Not sure due to the timeline of Halo Wars Two being ahead of the most likely timeline of Halo 6. Though we can expect to get hints of the flood along with a high probability of fighting the Banished in Halo 6 as a replacement for Jul's faction.
Halo 6 is probably going to be entirely focused on dealing with Cortana. After all this is the Reclaimer Saga, and right now the current threat in the main series is Cortana who thinks human-made AIs are the true reclaimers. Maybe later down the line we may see the flood make a reappearance, but right now the big threat is Cortana with her army of Guardians that can disable an entire fleet of ships with a single EMP pulse.
BT -7274 But this expansion takes place 6 months after halo wars 2 normal campaign. Unless halo 6 is starting 6 months after halo 5 timeline I don't think they will be.
Imagine if Halo Wars 2 was like Halo 2. One campaign is playing as the spartan Jerome-092 (sometimes with Isabel) while you play in the other campaign as Pavium or Voridus. I wish they made something like that instead.
It's not that they got smarter per se, it's just their organization as a species is more tribal, but when rallied behind a chieftan such as Atriox, they can coordinate a lot better. They're surprisingly similar to The Flood, just without the hivemind, but with a powerful commander (The Gavemind or Atriox), they're highly coordinated and effective.
Exactly. The Brutes were kind of like the Krogan from Mass Effect in that once their society advanced to the point they were able to produce technology of their own they misued it and ended up nuking themselves back to the stone age in a sense. When they have the right leader in charge, they are very capable. Heck having played Mass Effect, some Krogan leaders are terrible, all want destruction (return to the glory years of the Krogan) and then you have Urdnot Wrex who has a clear vision. That's why Atriox is a good leader, he has a vision for the Banished.
I think these new flood forms can only fit in the Halo Wars games. In the main franchise...fuck no. As none of them have the true "flood" design. Plus it wouldn't work anyways.
Check out Gaming Sins' "Everything Wrong With Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare." Some great points in there ua-cam.com/video/C7z2gh4xqvc/v-deo.html

Bubbablue boi if the ring couldnt starve or even vaporize the fucking flood in high Charity, im pretty sure the fucking gravemind could survive, being over 100 KM long and all
This really should play a role in Halo Infinite. The return of the Flood in a Galaxy that Cortana has basically crippled. Her actions may cause the very thing she was trying to prevent, and the return of the ancient horror.
Infinite takes place on Zeta halo. Where the flood basicly held the smartest Ai hostige. (Penitint tangent, I think it was) And drove it mad just for the fun of it then convinced that ai to join them. Granted that gravemind probobly got wiped when the rings fired. But all the spores and biomass should still lurk just below the surface
@@SHADOWscreepypasta Zeta Halo is Installation 07. 2401 Penitent Tangent is the monitor of Delta Halo, Installation 05, from Halo 2. Also that Gravemind went to the Ark in Halo 3 and what's left of that outbreak, is what you see in Awakening the Nightmare. Delta Halo has since been visited and studied by the UNSC a lot (since Halo 2, I mean) and no one's reported any Flood happenings or issues, so I think it's safe to say that the Sentinels got it contained.
I mean, the Gravemind from Halo 2 did break Cortana using the Logic Plague. When she preaches about "curing the sick" or "sheltering the needy" towards the end of the Guardian's Campaign, she's using socialist talking points that the Gravemind "The Timeless One" used on Medicant Bias; it's all a trick to make highly advanced AI think The Flood houses utopian and acceptable ideals, when in reality it's only trying to assimilate everything along with the AI it's torturing.
One thing I keep noticing people assume, is that there can only be 1 gravemind at a time. That's just not true. Each gravemind asserts a certain amount of control over the flood, but doesn't control all flood everywhere. During the Flood-Forerunner war, there were dozens if not hundreds of graveminds, each leading separate armies of flood against the forerunners.
There was only one gravemind consciousness but multitudes of forms exerting its will, the gravemind we encounter in halo 3 is the same gravemind consciousness as the one the forerunners faced known as the primordial, it never dies because all flood carry its consciousness like a hivemind, but only large enough forms can exert its consciousness such as graveminds and keyminds. (No clue how the fuck it connects all flood forms minds across the galaxy simultaneously tho, but it can do so, seeing as how the gravemind was not in the solar system at the time of the covenant cruiser crash landing, but through its flood forms we can still hear terms like "the metal shell arrives" or something along those lines.)
+Throw it out the airlock Probably a lot of Precursor stuff explains how the Gravemind consciousness stretches. I mean, the Precursors created the Domain which allowed for access to a biological database all over the galaxy, so there's probably something similar imbued in the Flood.
Now I love Halo, but not enough to go searching through their websites and searching for dev post to find the lore. I get all my lore knowledge simply from the games and books (but not the comics, I don't have the time or money to get all of those too). The way the Forerunner trilogy presented the flood, in my opinion, sounded more like there were multiple grave minds, they could communicate with each other, and all had the same end goal, but were different personalities and the Primordial was simply the first. Personally I don't see the way those specific books portrayed the grave mind(s) as being all the same personality, but multiple. But it might be that i'm just missing some detail that explained that, or that it was more ambigous than I remember.
+Robert Engelhardt Even worse than dev posts, 343 used to do Catalog posts in 2013, which were literally _just_ forum posts where lore was explained. Anyway - as far as I remember, it's all one consciousness. The Flood is like a giant brain, and every bit of additional matter makes it smarter.
Is it me or are Voridus and Pavium the Brute versions of Arby n the Chief? One's a "Naw, it's all good lol. Dun worry" type who's a reckless dumbass that never, ever, listens to absolutely anyone and the other's a much more reserved and smarter guy who knows his stuff plus constantly sticks his neck out for the former.
Okay, you may argue about the banished, but you gotta admit that Voridus and Pavium are more likable and have better characters and all the fire team Osiris combined.
This was the best Flood thing I've ever seen. Who knew an RTS game would be so EPIC?!?!? I felt the terror, desperation and FEAR that the Flood invokes!! Awesooooome. That ending song tho! CLAMS CASINO!!!
Flood better be in halo 6 along with the banished and captain cutter Cutter is probably just peeping through the bridge on the Spirit of Fire looking at all the explosions and probably saying "I sent the a recon team down there to investigate the fuck they doing and why are they not responding?"
I got a feeling Cutter is make a Captain keys mistake. Although they countered the flood before they are going to wonder why high charity is such a huge deal to them. Thus will probably re open the shield and thus the outbreak will happen only the banish will not have the strength to combat it.
The Halo community is the most toxic community I've ever witnessed. I agree that this should have been longer, but what did you expect from an expansion DLC story? However, the flood is back and it will be in Halo 6. I'm quite excited. Also, you can definitely see that parts of High Charity are missing, so please....don't say that 343 is acting like Halo 3 never happened.....
Ok, #1 making the enemies bullet sponges does not equate to good gameplay, or excuse a short story. #2 The Halo community is the most toxic? Have you SEEN the League community? #3 I too am excited about the return of the flood!!!
For those wondering, The Halos don't kill just the food. It kills anything and everything of sentience. This includes all higher forms of flood save for those lacking a central nervous system such as spores. The Gravemind from halo 2 and 3 is Dead, gone. It knew to retract much of it's forces to the depths of high charity, but knew the Halo from the ark would kill it. The flood here is Feral, around the stage of a Proto-gravemind. The flood do not make new graveminds on the same infected zone, as such, the fact they grow a new gravemind (which is really weirdly huge) is a big indicator the original is dead.
While I really enjoy the Jiralhanae getting more personality and development, the story perpetuates a big problem: the Covenant (during the main games) and the Banished consistently come off as incompetent. If Atriox knows that Voridus has a tendency to disobey orders and go in, guns blazing, why would he let him anywhere near High Charity? Atriox has to assume the high possibility that Voridus will do something stupid. Atriox, and to a lesser extent Pavium, seem stupid to trust Voridus with any real power like that. It's like giving Gillian the keys to the submarine! Other than that, I was hoping humanity would be featured as allies. For how pragmatic Atriox is shown to be, its actually a little odd he is so against the Spirit of Fire crew. I was hoping they would come across one of the Spartans, desperately fighting for his or her life against overwhelming odds. An EXTREMELY shaky alliance is formed, but Atriox points out the Flood is simply a far bigger threat than anything else. If anything, I wish this had been a full fledged game that expanded Atriox's character.
Atriox, at the time, probably was pissed at Voridous because of his disobedience, and hardheadedness, and thus forced him into the mission for redemption. Even his partner talks about not being able to protect Vor if he fucks up. In the end, Atriox spares him because he slightly fixed the mess.
This scenario only shows us of what can possibly happen during Halo Wars 3 (If another is coming.) and what is expected on Halo 6. Overall, the Flood have improved but now we must wait for Gravemind to return.
Well it's not like Atroix is entirely competent himself, he literally let's several Spartans escape after his first encounter. Even his second in command notes this.
True, they were using mark gen 1 Armour. I think they are gen 3 as Spartan II`s usually wipe the floor with most opponents. Of course now every Spartan has Gen 2. Hence why a Spartan IV can take on a Spartan II, because the amour is Superior.
I can see that High Charity is being set up as a major plot point again, which is interesting to see. I wonder if they'll make more blur cutscenes (and more lengthy) that depict Atriox or The Spirit of Fire fighting INSIDE High Charity... who knows what could be lurking in the main shell.
A moment of silence for that banshee which got crushed at 43:13 well at least now the flood is pretty much defeated the banished won't have to worry much also they should have created a flood leader which comes with the expansion pack
+Corwin From Amber Banshees still require fuel and are not capable of traveling at the speed necessary to reach anywhere. Though they can take control of air-vehicles, they use them to spread on the Ark. (In this expansion, there's a special air-unit known as the "Seeder Infector", which can infect air vehicles specifically.
The_DwarvenSquirrel All banshees can fly in space, the interceptors from reach are just faster and better armed. I think what everyone means is that they don't have slipspace drives.
Reminds me of Halo 2's cut Flood bosses, the Juggernauts. It was tougher than a hunter and twice the height of the Master Chief. There's videos here on UA-cam of Halo 2 Vista where modders found it's files and put it into the game.
A small detail I loved was when he approached pavium and voridus his tone is level and relatively calm when he says “secure the breach.” But the moment he turns to voridus you hear his tone drop “clean. Up. Your. Mess. I will be waiting for you, when YOU ARE DONE.” and then his grip tightened around his mace, he knew 100% who was to blame for the entire shit show that occurred and is squarely at the top of his shit list
I hope you realize due to this campaign that the Ark is technically compromised. The flood will have no issues infecting a ship and gaining information... If they get enough human minds under there viel...Earth would be an easy target. Luckily for earth there is a guardian flying above it. The earth itself tho has been EMP'D BY THAT GAURDIAN tho so if the flood where to come.. They won't know anything about it
Even at the end of Halo 3 you can hear him say he will return. Something about being like the flow of water. It never died and it was way too smart to keep all it's forces on high charity.
batterysurf He's still alive by in another live form such as the proto gravemind because it got destroyed in halo 3 by the halo ring (the gravemind controls all flood and told them to make one on this ark).
There is not only one Gravemind, perhaps on the Ark during the events of Halo 3, but if one went and read the books, there were a number of Graveminds, even "Key Minds" that were basically Graveminds that had basically taken over an entire planet. The Flood, as far as we know, are literally reincarnated Precursors, it's effectively extragalactic in origin. For all we know is that there could very well be many, MANY more Graveminds outside of the Milky Way galaxy.
@@takedown205productions6 No. I stopped investing in the games after Halo 3. I dabbled in the games after that but I think they were all rubbish. Nothing can touch the glory that was Halo 2 imo.
Atriox formed the Banished because he was tired of the Covenant viewing him and his fellow Jiralhanae as expendable. Any fellow disgruntled aliens and even humans joined his cause.
Actually, it's because this expansion entered planning and development AFTER they already had the season pass and it's content planned. (And the season pass already sold for the price it was at for the content it was given). Since they delayed Halo 6's announcement, they needed something to hold people over so they came up with this quickly, which is why it resolves itself and has no lasting impact.
+KilAcez21 All it takes is logic. Halo 6's announcement was delayed, so they came up with something out of blue. Why else is it a self-contained story of such little consequence?
Weirdly enough unlike most fans I really hope the flood doesn't return, I doubt 343 would be able to do them justice and on top of that they haven't exactly mastered just having two factions to fight so why should we hope that they'll add 2 more? Assuming the banished will replace the covenant I'd be fine with them being added, but the flood... Hopefully they'll replace the Prometheans because the only time I had fun fighting them was when I fought the knights in 5 and that's it..
On a literary level, 343 had originally set up the Flood for their return. Established in the novels released prior to Halo 4, they set up a little "prophecy" that the Flood would return as a test for humanity when they were "arrogant with power". Sounds like humanity as they are in Halo 4 and 5, right? Anyway, I kinda dislike that the Flood in this expansion were taken care of so quickly. Kinda throws out the importance of their existence and that little "prophecy" they had set up.
I love how the brutes act so intelligently in this. there are a lot more menacing amd a much bigger threat. paviums battle and tech wisdom is something brutes need more of and something that can give the Spartans a real challenge.
we not talking about aliens with advance weaponry. Or a robotic/AI takeover. Or some angels and demons. The flood is just never ending, never can be defeated technically. Where there is any life, the flood can come into exsistance and engolf whole civilizaTions with just one tiny ass spore which once again, doesn't use weapons or technology. Shiit they can also corrupt AI and robotic units. So how do u rly stop that...... The answer is, u can only temporary delay it. Lol

Or maybe it’s just a cutscene and the devs wanted to build some tension
@@oreroundpvp896 I'd say likely at least the beginnings of a proto. even if life was wiped by the firing of the halo, there was probably enough biomass left of the flood specifically to scrap together and form some kind of being with relative cognitive ability. You can see it even in how they attacked. THey used special flood forms that seemed specifically designed for entrapping prey rather than killing it. Willing to bet this new "mind" of sorts understood at least enough to know the moment it was freed it would need to gather enough live specimens to feed itself.

Having Covenant and Banished perspective driven stories should be used more in the games. We hardly ever get a chance to see things from their eyes.
One of the things that set Halo 2 apart from many FPS games where the main character is the hero is how you got to play from the Covenant perspective in Halo 2.
HolyknightVader999 Halo 2 continues to be among my favorite campaigns because of that.
Same here. And it's nice to see a Brute campaign for once. Glad to see I'm not the only one who appreciates them.
Unfortunately they like too eat humans
Ever since Halo 2, I always saw them as mindless meat heads who thought with their muscles but after Halo Wars 2 and Infinite, they proven to be very intelligent beings and my once non existent respect for them skyrocketed and their one of my favorite alien species along with the Elites and Grunts
I dunno . . . When you have the sense to not do something stupid but do it anyway, that's kind of a good sign of ones intelligence.
@@JohnnyTightlips2007unless it goes really good for them
Pretty much the first Brute we see in the series is Tartarus, who might not have been the best character but certainly wasn't mindless. I think the main issue is compared to the elite's we just don't get to see them as often outside of combat. Very few of the games have significant brute characters, so we usually just had combat and whatever idle behaviour they showed before while their guard was down.
I'm imagining the crew all on the Spirit of Fire and looking down from orbit and just thinking "oh fuck..."
Toxic Coffee They fought against a much worse outbreak then this hell they were the first humans to even fight the flood in Halo wars 1.
Nemesis Prime well I wasn't talking about Red team, I was just talking about the crew in general, and yeah I agree
Nemesis Prime Spartans do actually fear, they are just really good at controlling it.
_It's amazing how 'human' these brutes act._
_The brotherhood, the ingenuity, the way they fight. It's arguable that the Brutes may be the most human of aliens._

Not sure due to the timeline of Halo Wars Two being ahead of the most likely timeline of Halo 6. Though we can expect to get hints of the flood along with a high probability of fighting the Banished in Halo 6 as a replacement for Jul's faction.
Patton528
halo wars 2 is between 5 and 6. that's why you see cortana's guardian at the end of halo 5.
BT -7274
But this expansion takes place 6 months after halo wars 2 normal campaign. Unless halo 6 is starting 6 months after halo 5 timeline I don't think they will be.
Arbiter/Kaidon Thel'Vadam I wouldn't get your hopes too high because they might save the flood for Halo 7 and finish the Prometheans in Halo 6
Imagine if Halo Wars 2 was like Halo 2. One campaign is playing as the spartan Jerome-092 (sometimes with Isabel) while you play in the other campaign as Pavium or Voridus. I wish they made something like that instead.
The brutes became smarter then ever don't you agree guys
ThatAussieGamer117 ya
It's not that they got smarter per se, it's just their organization as a species is more tribal, but when rallied behind a chieftan such as Atriox, they can coordinate a lot better. They're surprisingly similar to The Flood, just without the hivemind, but with a powerful commander (The Gavemind or Atriox), they're highly coordinated and effective.
I don't know why people think they were so stupid before. I mean, these guys rivaled the elites back in halo 2 and wiped them out from high charity.
Most defiantly, I like the fact that their being fleshed out more.
I just realized how absurdly strong those tentacle ones are by the fact they are actually capable of holding a full on brute in a contest of strength.
These new flood forms look cool.
Shinzon I can't stop thinking Sunset Overdrive

Syphilicious Maybe... they drank the drink... and this isnt flood at all but mutated brutes

That Flood fight scene was absolutely badass, this Dlc overall looks quite enjoyable as well
Halo 3: The Flood, it’s finished.
Halo Wars 2: No... I think we’re just getting started.
+Throw it out the airlock
Probably a lot of Precursor stuff explains how the Gravemind consciousness stretches.
+Robert Engelhardt
Even worse than dev posts, 343 used to do Catalog posts in 2013, which were literally _just_ forum posts where lore was explained.

The most toxic community is any Moba community lmao
I'd never thought I would see such wisdom in a brute, but Pavium has my respect
This was such a good game. I wish they kept supporting it. I want a third Halo Wars.
As a long time Halo fan. I LOVE THIS!!
I like getting to see more Brutes and their character development.
If anything, I wish this had been a full fledged game that expanded Atriox's character.
you could argue his other, more competent commanders are off fighting the Spirit of Fire and so he has no choice but to rely on Voridus for this
Atriox, at the time, probably was pissed at Voridous because of his disobedience, and hardheadedness, and thus forced him into the mission for redemption.
The proto-gravemind looks like a giant flower with tentacles
I can see that High Charity is being set up as a major plot point again, which is interesting to see. I wonder if they'll make more blur cutscenes (and more lengthy) that depict Atriox or The Spirit of Fire fighting INSIDE High Charity... who knows what could be lurking in the main shell.
Shiba Inu Mochi by the look of it the gravemind may be there
Cutter wouldn't send troops inside. He'd stay well away if he can.
That one grunt at the beginning, if he survived, must have had a few words to say to his brute commander.
*if the commander survived.*
3:26 Is that a reference to when in halo 5 you can find a secret singing grunt and it gives you the option to just punt it into the void.
Not likely
A moment of silence for that banshee which got crushed at 43:13
well at least now the flood is pretty much defeated the banished won't have to worry much also they should have created a flood leader which comes with the expansion pack
0DarkTemplar9 TDT Defeated but not destroyed there's still a shit ton of flood out there including the spores too. The flood are from destroyed.
we saw the flood taking control over wraiths, so why cant they take control over some bashees and fly away from the ark?
+Corwin From Amber Banshees still require fuel and are not capable of traveling at the speed necessary to reach anywhere.
Though they can take control of air-vehicles, they use them to spread on the Ark. (In this expansion, there's a special air-unit known as the "Seeder Infector", which can infect air vehicles specifically.
banshees are not able to fly in space, unless they are the space variant
The_DwarvenSquirrel All banshees can fly in space, the interceptors from reach are just faster and better armed. I think what everyone means is that they don't have slipspace drives.
I'd love to see those huge flood forms in halo 6 as a boss battle.
Reminds me of Halo 2's cut Flood bosses, the Juggernauts. It was tougher than a hunter and twice the height of the Master Chief. There's videos here on UA-cam of Halo 2 Vista where modders found it's files and put it into the game.
@@Mega-Brick
The Abominations are directly inspired by the Juggernauts.
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 actually, they are evolved Juggernauts. The Juggernaut was recently made canon.
35:32 "We've destroyed the enemy Pavium!"
Gotta say I expected some flood to survive the ending of 3. Didn't expect quite that many.

Never has the ark and the flood looked so beautiful!
Zaib Javed never knew u were into GLP cutscenes curry puff
Except in h2A but it is by the same people though
I hope you realize due to this campaign that the Ark is technically compromised.
The flood will have no issues infecting a ship and gaining information...
If they get enough human minds under there viel...Earth would be an easy target.
Luckily for earth there is a guardian flying above it. The earth itself tho has been EMP'D BY THAT GAURDIAN tho so if the flood where to come..
They won't know anything about it
I like how this dlc actually gave brutes much more character and personality.
So what happened to original gravemind?
batterysurf it died when the unfinished halo activated and exploded
Even at the end of Halo 3 you can hear him say he will return. Something about being like the flow of water. It never died and it was way too smart to keep all it's forces on high charity.
batterysurf He's still alive by in another live form such as the proto gravemind because it got destroyed in halo 3 by the halo ring (the gravemind controls all flood and told them to make one on this ark).
JITCY9107 "Like water I ebb..."
-Gravemind 2007
There is not only one Gravemind, perhaps on the Ark during the events of Halo 3, but if one went and read the books, there were a number of Graveminds, even "Key Minds" that were basically Graveminds that had basically taken over an entire planet. The Flood, as far as we know, are literally reincarnated Precursors, it's effectively extragalactic in origin. For all we know is that there could very well be many, MANY more Graveminds outside of the Milky Way galaxy.
Brutes are like Humans if we never got out of our Neanderthal age
Yup
They nuked themselves back to the stone age before the Covenant found em
Just like the Krogan in Mass Effect coincidentally
Voridus at the beginning of the DLC: Haha c'mon guys free treasure! :D
Voridus at the end of the DLC: Haha c'mon guys free combat experience! :D
I think Atriox really cares about his Brutes. That says ALOT.
I'm guessing you haven't played Halo Wars 2 then?
@@takedown205productions6 No. I stopped investing in the games after Halo 3. I dabbled in the games after that but I think they were all rubbish. Nothing can touch the glory that was Halo 2 imo.
Atriox formed the Banished because he was tired of the Covenant viewing him and his fellow Jiralhanae as expendable. Any fellow disgruntled aliens and even humans joined his cause.
@@lukerosales5879 Wait even humans!?
@@tanacity9392 Yes, at least if you read the expended universe lore.
When you own the season pass but this is sold separate because it’s an “Expansion pass”
Wow....that makes this worse then.
Rhas 'Churol Another 343 shill with NO PROOF
I agree. This should've been in the season pass. But since nobody bought hw2, they decided to screw season pass holders
+KilAcez21 All it takes is logic. Halo 6's announcement was delayed, so they came up with something out of blue. Why else is it a self-contained story of such little consequence?
40:24 I'm sure that thing can be seen in halo legends when the forerunners tried to fight back against the flood
"Clean. Up. Your. Mess."
Uncle Atriox is mighty pissed and I deeply commend the voice actor for him.
This is so cool 😎 the first time we’ve had a major flood outbreak since halo 3 in 10 years!!! Finally they’re back so we can fight them!!! 😃
44:06 when your dad finds out you and your brother went through his stuff.
It's very thoughtfull of you to add the in-game dialogue aswell i want to see this DLC story and know what's going on without watching the gameplay
13:28 Rare footage of first Covid victim to arrive in the US.
“You worry too much” I don’t think he was worried enough considering what happens just a few hours later
“Don’t fail him again.”
*Proceeds to unleash Halo’s most deadliest parasite into the Ark.*
Halo 4 was good 5 was a fuck up
same
holy crap we have common opinions
“Even if such monsters did exist, they would be long dead by now.”
Flood: *still exist*
Banished: .___________________.
Atriox knew the truth.
I love how the brutes act so intelligently in this. there are a lot more menacing amd a much bigger threat. paviums battle and tech wisdom is something brutes need more of and something that can give the Spartans a real challenge.
More personality between the two brother brutes in the intro than Ghaul for the whole Destiny 2 campaign..
I hope infinite has these gorgeous cutscenes. I know its by blur studios but please make it work!
the flood... By far are the most scariest and baddass "villians" in any game created
we not talking about aliens with advance weaponry. Lol
If you liked this, try Homeworld: Catalcysm.
Now I want a future game where you play as a brute like how halo 2 did with The Arbiter.
You know what? I really think your on to something there. 🧐
The two brothers at the start sound like me and my brother playing ark, warning me that it will go wrong if i do something dumb and i always say "what could go wrong" and it always does
Thanks again
